As a plumber I’d suggest use sch40 solid core pvc. It’s rated for pressure and more ridged

Thanks for the comment. is there a pvc good for the UV, heat, cold, ice and snow?
@shauns9898
@shauns9898 10 месяцев назад
@@CampBrood sch 40 is probably your best bet. The cel core will crack in cold weather. We have to watch for that when we’re roughing house in the winter here in chicago. If you need something stronger, the next step is sch 80. That’s a dark gray. I’ve used it on higher pressure systems such as commercial pools and food processing plants. The only problem there is you’ll probably have to get it from a supply house and it isn’t cheap

Can it be dismantle for mobility of the goal post?
@CampBrood
@CampBrood Год назад
No, in order for the goal to stay together during use the fittings need to be glued and screwed. When I "dry fitted" the goal together it took about 5 minutes of play for a ball to hit the cross bar and collapse the goal. With the goal glued and screwed we actually were able to swing a tire on the goal. Check out this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9kF5LDCOeSM.html

I see you're still responding to comments from not tok ling ago thats good. What do you mean by dry fitting the pieces together? And is glue absolutely needed or would I be able to just screw eveyrtbing together
@CampBrood
@CampBrood 6 месяцев назад
Good question. Dry fit means no glue and no screws to make sure it all fits together. Without glue it collapses when hit. You must pvc glue and screw all fittings.

We are doing well with ours. 2.5 years no issues with shots from a 15 year old and his friends. Here’s a video of him playing for perspective. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9kF5LDCOeSM.htmlsi=azLfj1IA8E655JqZ. Glued and screwed is how we fastened ours together. @CampBrood
@CampBrood 9 месяцев назад
@@tonkihonks3430 maybe. we kept ours hollow. we move it a lot to mow the lawn and it just seems to end up in different places in the back yard depending on where the kids want it. We also lay it down before storms and when we forget it falls over. So sand may help with it staying upright in fowl weather! Please, come back if you finish and let us know how it goes for you.

I’m considering trying to make a 24’x8’ goal for my daughter, my fear is sagging in the top crossbar. She’s got a powerful kick, so I want to make it sturdy, but worried that added weight would only cause the center of the top crossbar to sag. Have you noticed any sagging with your 16’ goal?
@CampBrood
@CampBrood 2 года назад
Valid concern. I think pvc would sag with a 24’ span. We have a little sag but it’s generally corrected when we move the side posts square. When the side posts bow out at the front/bottom the crossbar sags. You can see a little sag it in the video. After 10 months it hasn’t gotten worse.
@brettn
@brettn 2 года назад
Yeah, I’m thinking I’d probably need to add a 3rd vertical bar in the rear up the back in order to properly support the crossbar halfway across, essentially splitting it into two 12 foot lengths, which would hopefully be more stable.
@CampBrood
@CampBrood 2 года назад
@@brettn you may also want to beef up the back with 3" pvc all around. It will provide more surface area for glue and screws and also more structure. I don't think I would do the 16x7 any different but 3" all the way around would make it a little stronger, I think and also heavier which has pros and cons.
