Great video! I loved the idea itself, and I want to give you a suggestion on how to increase the speed of the bike. Maybe you need to add some gears or make a gearbox that increases the amount of turns to change the speed of the bike. Keep up the good work 👍
If only Australian state governments would pull their heads out of their rectums long enough to un-ban this sort of thing. They re-classified all gasoline powered bikes as motorcycles a few years back (each state at different times). Then again, they banned hoverboards, e-scooters, monowheels, etc too. Anything other than a 250W or lower e-bike is "unsafe" - unless you're a company renting them out, that is. A pity as they're great cheap transport and good fun as well.
Only two little bolts to secure the engine is very sketchy at best. You have four mounting bolts. Use them all. It's only a matter of time before those two overstressed bolts strip out or fracture, causing total loss of the engine. Other than that, its a great idea.
Great job. I am wondering what would be the result adding a clutch+vario combo instead of a "constant" ratio pulley. Those engines are pretty powerfull (2 to 3 hp) which is the range for most 50cc mopeds. Top speed is quite low, which might be due to lack of torque. A vario may improve both acceleration and top speed, but it is just a guess...
With A 62cc Motor, And Having The Correct Drive Sprocket & Wheel Sprocket Direct Chain Drive Would've Been Faster.. imo. (I Remove The Clutch as well, And Just Pedal The Bike to Crank Engine.. Shuts Down When You Stop.. But, For Speed It Works Better)... Still Very Cool Design Tho !!!
top speed more like 15-20kmph highly inefficient as it uses worm drive gearbox 80 % efficiency and belt drive also very inefficient motot should be mounted directly to gearbox
