One of the top 5 Uncle Larry / Homeskoolin quotes… “Cause when I play it, it sounds like a guy from Alice In Chains trying to play acoustic”
@MarshallorFender

Maybe it’s because I grew up on Jar of Flies but I agree. I’m always trying to get away from that too. Sutton is an inspiration to breakaway from constant strumming.

I can see why Bryan is the #1 guy to call for acoustic guitar work. Looks simple, but that's the magic.

Watching Bryan Sutton play... it brings a tear to one's eye, seeing the dexterity and hearing the clarity of the notes played, the result of the years of work developing artistry of that caliber. Simply amazing.

Aside from the ridiculous amount of talent, feel, and skill, I dug how Bryan got lost in the sound of the guitar... still seems like even at the highest level, there is still magic in there. That is helpful to me... my skills being limited, I need that part of music maybe a little more than some to keep trying. So thankful for these organic sweet conversations. Thanks Tom and guests.

The right hand of god, that’s for damn sure. Besides uncle Larry, Bryan’s been the biggest influence on my playing since the lockdown madness days. He’s so erudite, with his discussion on what he’s doing, and with those magical hands. A genius of a guitarist, no arguments. Cheers fellas!

Any video with Bryan Sutton in a studio with a guitar in his hands I am going to watch. Effortless picking all the time and has such great tone and touch. Talent helps obviously but to be that good you have to put in the time with practice. We get the benefit of just tuning in to listen, watch, and learn. Thanks for sharing Uncle Larry and keep these great videos coming! Bryan is my favorite acoustic picker for sure!

Does anyone put more thought into his playing than Bryan? There is an intellectual and philosophical element to his approach, yet he has harnessed it to enhance the musicality where others sound and style becomes robotic. He’s cracked the code for sure.

Uncle Larry you are surrounded by people who are just as stellar as people as they are stellar as musicians. Mr Sutton is just jaw dropping good. One thing that is so evident in both his and your playing is the fluidity, how being so relaxed produces that fluidity and stellar tones. You have a real keeping in that new J-50, gorgeous sounds.
