Just putting this out there to help others after reading some comments here. I am a sister who desired women as a teenager and honestly Allah healed me. I gave up on everything in life except for Allah and I didnt expect any relief and one day the most amazing feeling came over me and I felt that my body and brain had changed (I was transgender too) I felt full of light. After that I never felt desire towards women again alhamdulillah and it's been nearly 10 years now. Although I did suffer before it, when you completely give yourself to Allah and become so close to Him that He is more real to you than anything else, I feel that it was knowing Allah and His Oneness that healed me. There is light at the end of the tunnel for you insha'Allah. And for every struggle you go through even if it never ends, you are increasing in reward.
This is amazing. It’s the power of sincerely and completely submitting our will to Allah. Thanks for sharing. I would like to add that Quran itself has the power of healing the ailments of the soul, heart and mind. This aspect is one of the most neglected aspects of the power of Quran.
Dear Sister Ma Sha Allah. I am so happy for you. May Allah always protect you and bless you. I also have a situation with someone I know who is struggling. Is it possible to message you about it. Maybe you can become a Ziriya (the one who Allah sends as help) to help me, help the other person. I will wait for your reply. Jazak Allahu Khairan sister and May Allah always bless you abundantly
Why do you use the words suffering and healed in this context? Would the same apply for "healing" a "suffering" Muslim and converting them into Norse paganism?
Most supposedly ex gay ppl who find Jesus say the same thing as you. Yet many of them realize they are just fooling themselves and they recognize it and go back. I hope you aren’t playing mind tricks on yourself.

I miss these old talks of Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, they were much more open and directed specifically to the problem in question where he shows so much love and energy for Islam, they have now become much more political, however I still think he is one of the very best if not the best in portraying Islam for what is really is, a peaceful and spiritual religion.
@@worfoz 1. That was TOTALLY out of context. 2. Prove that he was a "child rapist" 3. He NEVER said "belive me or I kill you". He has NEVER forced Islam upon anyone. He would allow people who are Jewish or Christians to practice their faith and would never threaten someone to end that worship and force them to join Islam. He said to "invite" disbelievers, not to kill. 4. He never feared gay people or disbelievers. A gay man may have urges, and that is something that could be natural. But acting upon it would be sinful. The prophet would try to improve the lives of sinners and those who wish to improve their lives and ask forgiveness to Allah.

I think people of faith in all religions should study this issue more. I think Hamza Yusuf really made some excellent points. But I also feel like there are other questions and answers on this issue that haven't been dealt with yet.
@@galleryg998 It is a test from God, just as being a paedophile or psychopath, born with the urge for murder or to manipulate people is also a test. Even though many people might argue that it doesnt cause any harm, it actually does cause harm to a society (if you do your research) and the feeling is driven by desires, which are caused by hormonal and psychological changes in the womb, which are then triggered by environmental factors, not genes. So it's infact not even entirely natural and can be reversed if a homosexual person protects themselves for desires that could corrupt their hearts. Why do you think in biology it's always xy or xx and this has nothing to do with how a person feels? When you allow people to change who they objectively are based on feelings then you open the doors to all sorts of weirdness (eg there are currently people identifying as amputees and cutting their limbs off) and now they are even forcing these things on everyone. Anyway reguardless of all this, if God dislikes it so much and warns us to abstain from it, we should just obey on the account of who he is period.
@@khalidmostafa3934 He calls towards and supports certain things that are baatil and contradict the Quran and Sunnah. For example: he supports bid'ah. He has a support for Greek influenced kalami/ash'ari (philosophical) ideas (in which they reject certain attributes of Allah). Imam An-Nawawi and Al-Ghazzali refuted them. He supports democracy. He says that Muslims should not have a khilafah because rulership is secular. He said focusing on aqeedah is a disease. Aqeedah is basically our beliefs and creed based on the Quran and Sunnah. There are a few other things as well.
@@holdshiftt2run308 that's very interesting! You must've been listening to him for a very long time to have 1)noticed those things and 2) compiled such a list. Did you formerly agree with his teachings and later on disagree?
@@evanhearne4020 He doesn't have to. One person can never feel another pwrson's feelings. He described the rules of a particular religion. In Islam, even if a man feels attraction for another man, he has to overcome it because in this religion, it is considered just as similar to having attraction to another person's wealth/belongings. This is one specific rule of one specific religion and he isn't forcing it on anyone. Imho, we can live wothout sex. If its love we are talking about, that has many forms and most pure forms of love are without the presence of sexual relations. If "hormones decide my fate" and I don't do anything about it, that just makes me closer to an animalistic being, not human.
@@tauhiduliqbalsampad ok, and is a man feeling attracted to a woman just as similar as being attracted to one's belongings in Islam too? Because if not, a gay person should not have to overcome their attractions as it is simply another form of the same relationship. And another thing, hormones are human properties - they are what establish everything about us, how we feel and perceive the world along with genetics.
Where can I find this man's lecture? He explains everything so beautifully Ma'Sha'Allah with no hatred whatsoever with an open heart & mind may Allah (s.w.t) soften our hearts and speeches! Ameen. In the psalms of David there is a verse that comforts my heart about knowing & obeying moral laws about sexuality or other matters - if is to safeguard our souls from harm - it says “ Thy boundary lines have fallen into pleasant places , Oh Lord , Yahweh, My Elohim ( Allah) “ ❤️
The hadith he was quoting regarding '[...] homosexuality of the touch [...]' is not specific to homosexuality, the word used is 'zina' which traditionally refers to premarital intercourse.
Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
A person with a rational and free mind would not make assumptions about others being blind and relinquishing freedom, especially when they have no evidence to back up their assumption. Making an assumption like this is the opposite of what it means to be free or open minded. Anyways, i urge you to watch more of this man's videos on RU-vid, especially his philosophical series on 'How to read a book' before you deem him ignorant. Good day.
some people are trying to say that it's his opinion on the matter and that Islam has no influence over it. This is not true. It's an understanding from our faith, that homosexuality is prohibited. If that somehow became a stigma for islamaphobes then you're just gonna have your prejudices confirmed. What Shaykh Hamza was explaining was the application of the judgement, that as humans we cannot judge what happens behind closed doors.
I truly admire his behaviour, maturity and respect. Although the idea that sexuality and stealing are equivalent comparisons is very ignorant and problematic. There is much scholarship and history to be debated (I will not debate it as I am not qualified to do so) but if scholarship developed to specifically condemn homosexuality then scholars must think outside and away from that to fully legitimise any view on the issue. There is no one way to understanding Islam and its greatness and so we must be open to challenging every aspect of our arguments. Why would Allah swt. test any creation in such a way that no other creation has every been known to be tested before (and I am not aiming to dismiss that we can never truly understand Allah swt and the divines actions), but sexuality is uncontrollable, and how does two people loving one another insult the almighty ? This obviously exists outside of the procreation argument. I urge us to afford queer people a safe and respectable space in our communities and spaces and I pray we can be amongst those who critically and seriously engage with ideas and beliefs, may Allah swt always guide us and may we never stand against our creator.
just to be brutally honest homosexual acts are forbidden both in privacy and public i do realize that there are some people that have the tendency to be attracted to the same sex... i consider that their responsibility as it is my responsibility to keep my feelings of attraction to the opposite sex in check and god knows best
What does forbidden mean? Haram? He didn't say it s not a sin, he said the sharia gives a punishment when it is out in the open, when you can prove it. If you do it, no matter where, it is a sin
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ • (lā ʾilāha ʾillā llāhu muḥammadun rasūlu llāhi) There is no deity but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
Perhaps that was a mere example of the bigger point, which is not to transgress the boundary; And that if you have impulses to ACT on your desires that transgress that boundary, then you should suppress it.
And thank God for that! The Prophet (S) married many women only because it was politically necessary and because those women were in need of protection. In the western world, i really don't see how marrying multiple women is beneficial. Also he (S) encouraged men to have only one wife. I really don't care what the non believers do. And seeing that marrying multiple women is vehemently abused in the Middle East, i'm glad it's barred in the west and most of the world.
He mis-stated this. By private space doesn't mean your home. It means an action that no others can see- not even your spouse, children, or guests. Those issues that are hidden are between you and Allah. The moment it becomes public is when another individual learns of your deeds. And thus it must be scrutinized and something must be done to stop the act.

It would be interesting to see how muslims would react to being told that they're free to practice their religion in the privacy of their home, but it could cause harm when it emerges into the public space. Bigotry is impossible to hide, no matter how reasonable people might try and make it sound.
I am not sure if comparing the impulse for stealing to the impulse for sexual attraction to opposite sex works. Sex is a very basic need of humans whereas act of stealing is not. Likewise hunger is one of the essential needs of humans like sex. I think comparing hunger to impulse for sex works better. And we are to compare these two, we can see that it is impossible to suppress the impulse for sex like it is impossible to suppress impulse for hunger. I am a muslim. I just look for a satisfactory answer for the wrongness of being gay from a islamic point of view.
But the question that remains is; why do we have to be so intolerant? For me, not liking someone purely and solely just because the person is gay is like not liking someone just because of their skin color!
