@@SamCarLegion I would watch 20 of your vids before I watch 1 h00n vid. Good job just being genuine and not yelling/talking to us like we are a bunch of children.
Literally how lmfao... Most of his vids I have seen are from a dig and not even a roll race... Every video is super quiet, bland, boring, lots of unecessary film time, and horrible editing. Has alot of work to do. There are plenty other creators who do a much more fine job at this...
Gets so annoying in forza horizon 4 that everyone drives around in boring super cars. And in every Drag Race they choose the supra or cobra. Or some broken car that never loses.
This guy not only looks like a young Anthony Hopkins but also has the best races on RU-vid....Accord vs STI ?? Crazy but such an interesting and unseen match up! Everyone else is doing boring typical races
Yeah I had an 18 2.0t BUT with the manual sooo my starts of the line we’re not so good. I’m assuming your friend spanks STI’s from a roll not from a dig? You just can’t put down 400 hp down to the ground with front wheel drive especially with a manual
@@dufferego87 The new Honda Civic Type is also slow against the Accord 2.0t 10 Speed. The STi was slightly faster than the Type R against the Accord 2.0t. That's not bad for a 20 year old STi engine and manual transmission ;-)
amazing.sky.land I agree... how many more drag racing were going to see people testing the sti ? It's not ment for drag racing .. 🤦🏻♂️ that sti would run laps with that 2.0 accord in track or canyon runs .. I just don't get it ..
We are all regular people, money doesn't make people less or more regular or middle, low or high class. I dont believe in classes when referring to people because of how much money you earn. I know wealthy people that wont give 5 dollars to charity, its disgusting and thats real low class not high class..
I thought I was crazy lucky when I was beating some of these cars you already beat, with my Accord 2.0T 10spd. This cars packs a punch!! All stock too! Kudos to Honda!!
love the different mode testings, this is incredibly thorough and helped with my buying decision! what a coincidence these were my 2 vehicles on the table too. Thanks!
Just subbed, been watching your videos for a while and I love how you put the 2.0T against cars that are not even in its class but showing the people how close the races are. Great job keep it up, I love how you have proper daily vehicles run against each other, I would love to come to Cayuga to watch the races in person
I've come to love this channel over every other drag race channel that I've been subscribed to for years now. You guys have a unique approach to car comparison - you go straight to the point without wasting time. That is excellent! While other channels talk a boatload of nonsense, you do the needful and go straight to business. I rank you NUMBER 1. You're the prime car comparison channel, and I'm happily subscribed. Thank you a billion, guys!
I have a '21 Sport 2.0T and with the Eco and Sport driving modes, this car is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Couldn't be more different between the two modes. Eco mode gives you a low RPM, easygoing ride & a car that sips fuel at the pump. Sport mode turns the car into a beast, that just wants to pull and pull and pull all the way up to 120mph (and beyond, if not restricted).
That fact that the 2.0 is able to keep up with the sti in normal and Manu mode is insane. I thought like, it's a subaru so it has no chance but damn. Made my day lol
I promise you they only put the STI in sport mode. Which isn’t even the fastest mode, has another mode called sport sharp, which can smoke mustangs easily
You’ve found the odd combinations that remind me the mid-80’s street scene. You could never predict what you’d wind up running against and anything was fair game. Want a weird suggestion? Ford Flex V6 Ecoboost with and/or without a tune.
That EcoBoost Flex should be called Boooooooooo-st. Those things are crazy fast for what they are. | Ford is quite sneaky, when it comes to throwing random completely unsuspecting monster sleepers. I've witnessed a Ford Flex run a Solid 750awhp with just some bolt-ons some new turbos a lil 🌽 in the tank. Super Sneaky..... And Scary Fast....
Wow that was insane. On manual mode the Accord was RIGHT THERE with the mighty WRX STI!!! That 2.0 is a gem. I think the owner of the subie’s feelings were slightly hurt lol
@@Lorde360 so its your car? I am for sure at the TRACK, story would be a lot different. on twisty road the true abilities come out, especially for a rally king like the STI and I am sure it will dust the accord. For a day to day car, accord is just IT though.
The thing with the sti thought is that it’s not the fastest in a straight line but you can throw it into the corners and it just sticks, it gives you so much confidence in the corners
In the roll race from 45kph in manual mode, it looked like the STI was SLIGHTLY ahead at the beginning, & that might have made all the difference...Loved the vid as always!!! They should call it the Accord with the SLEEPER package, ha.
Now I understand why Honda didn’t put the same 306hp and 295tq of the Type R, if the accord is already this fast with the 10 speed, imagine what it can do with that additional power, it can easily beat the STI and even the type R and I think that’s what Honda didn’t want, the accord to be faster than the type R 🤷🏻♂️😆
Yeah. Sport Sharp Mode and for drag racing you should shift the DCCD to 35/65 front to rear. Everybody thinks an STi is easy to drive, but it takes a little bit of a learning curve to unleash it's full potential. Also, the fact that you can rev higher at launch, and optimize shifting to get your car through the dreaded 2nd to 3rd gear slump.
@@domwesbentick2960 I agree it’s not as easy as the 2 evos I had an 03 evo 8 and 14 evo x now with the 17 limited sti I own it’s very different than shifting them I usually drive in i mode for normal driving cause it’s so different in how it shifts in sport sharp seems like it just wants to go all out in high rpms in i mode seems to want to drive tamer
I like using the paddle shifters from time to time...but if I need power like getting on the beltway...I just hit sport mode and that sucker flies...lol.
I would have thought that with roughly 50 more hp and awd that the Sti would jump ahead off the line and then pull away . That Accord has some strong ponies .
@@layne4376 The Subaru is too stiff for a daily driver. You need to drive a accord to see what I mean. The accord kept up with the STI. imagine will it do to the WRX 😂 The accord is a family sedan.
@@layne4376 Type R beats the STi in the corners while being wrong wheel drive, your point? Fact is for a daily the Accord is extremely impressive, on the interstate it will roll really good when it comes to overtaking traffic
Down shifting 2 gears from the sport mode pre set gear to start a pull at 5000 rpm can make a huge difference in the accord! That’s the way it’s meant to pull wide open 👌🏻
The 2.0T in the Accord Sport is an insanely good engine but it is also paired well with that transmission. If they were to put that in the new 11th gen Civic, it would be the best thing ever.
I love my 2021 2.0 Accord i got the last one in my city in glossy white and this thing is a phenomenal performer and has grand technological futures for a sedan, definitely a extraordinary car and suggestive pick for anybody’s first car like me.
@@copperkeyracing6167 yeah they make great power. I was more surprised on how it put the power down with an open diff. pretty impressive stock. i've been in an e85 accord and it slips all the way to 4th.
@@copperkeyracing6167 That makes sense. I probably shouldve asked the guy what tires he was running. I'm even more impressed with the accord's diff then haha.
It’s not surprising they are similar in weight and whp the handling is where they will definitely differ. oh an STI is a family sedan for me I have two car seats in my back seat.
Love this channel… however I do feel like you could get a better feel for the cars that u drive. Some races it doesn’t seem like u have the car in its best power band when shifting. Keep the videos coming!
Was the accord 2.0t available in any Right hand drive countries? Wasn't sold in the UK and doesn't seem like they were sold in Japan or Australia either :(
Good race and comparison of both cars. My personal opinion is that it is a bit hard to compare an automatic against a manual even though there is a "manual" mode (paddle shifters) in the Honda. Good video though.
I said the same bro lol can’t beat a computer when it comes to shifting and the paddle shifters are still backed by a computer for people who are learning still
Neither of these cars are preferred by me but if I had to the Accord 2.0t would be the one I would purchase. The Subarus WRX STi just doesn't have the same "street Cred" as it did years ago whatever that means and the styling and sound of the boxer is more subdued even with with aftermarket exhaust. I assume the Accord would be more reliable in the long run as well
I'm really impressed with that Accord same weigh less horsepower and no all-wheel drive. I Can Only Imagine if the engines was the same horsepower the STI would have got destroyed.
In an engineering standpoint, a car with AWD loses a lot of hp by powering all four wheels especially if you have a heavy driveshaft and non oem tires and wheels. The only advantage AWD has over FWD is grip on a dig. Once they get moving, the advantage swings back to the FWD car because it only needs to power 2 wheels instead of 4.
I have a buddy with a 2.0t accord just like this one in the video, he is running a few bolt on’s with a e85 blend and is over 400whp. The 10 speed auto is insane, the car ran a 12.09 on a quarter mile. With better tires to launch I believe he would be in the 11s.
Nice video ! I hate launching my sti , they re not really meant for drag racing at all , but this was interesting to watch, that Honda engine is beast , no matter where you put it and also way more reliable ! keep up the good content 🤘
@@SK718NYC Look ,you are probably a Honda fanboy ok,,I dont have time to argue, you must be blind not to see that the STI had like 3 cars ahead from the jump lol . The STI is the more powerful of the 2,,Look at the race again lol. I also said the accord did good,,but it lost to the more powerful car 😎
@@pedrorivera2308 I actually worked at a Subaru dealer. Nothing but blown head gasket, broken rods and excessive oil consumption. STI are built like trash. pS I don't drive a Honda 😂
I own both cars. 19 STI Stage 2 and 19 Accord 2.OT 10 speed auto... Stock to stock on a dig STI will take it , but on the roll,if you catch accord on right gear it will walk STI on top speed .... On roll accord is faster... Both are great cars ,made for different driving experience.... The STI is a superior car for all road conditions!!!!
That was an amazing race. And dang near perfect SETUP I bet you, with just a k-tuner and an off the shelf tune like their own Stage two on a stock Engine. He would decimate that STI. Please don't get me wrong, I love subies all day every day. I actuallyused to own a 2015 STI. BUT Dollar for Dollar, the performance gained from simple Mods doesn't compare when it comes to gaining power.
@@allanhood8402 Don't pretend VW is more reliable than subaru. You're coping. Also the Sti does NOT have a bad transmision, they can handle serious abuse and 750 ft lbs of torque stock. And they don't leak oil any more than any other car with wear and tear.
Although I do wish they would give the accord a simple stage 1 flash tune and put it against higher end cars....THEN you would see some real interesting races
accord is impressive! i'm currently looking at an wrx and i just came up with the idea of an accord. i youtube this and find the exact video that i need
I didnt think the 2.0 would come close to the sti. But that manual mode wow made the difference. On a price perspective ur better off buying the accord and just getting ktuner.
