Factor in the price differential between petrol and diesel and the diesel makes all the more sense. Also point to note, the Virtus has 5 extra litres of fuel tank capacity.

I guess if it was CVT it will be even more Efficient then the manual. also Yeah Manual Transmission and Cruise Control Makes a Huge Impact , I own a 2019 Amaze I - DTEC Manual i was able to get A tank to tank Mileage of above 30kmpl with almost 2 to 3 ltrs of fuel left in tank with 963 Kms on Trip Meter and the range was 63kms at that time . My Average Driving was 75 kms a day with almost 10 to 15 kms in normal city traffic and AC On for almost 300 to 400 kms , avg Speed Varies between 70 kmph to 90kmph at that time

I have a City eHev. My driving style has changed because of it.. especially the 250 NM torque it gives. Used to drive sedately and now have lots more fun. Yes it isn't as efficient as a diesel at highway cruising, never will be. Most of its efficiency comes from them braking. And if there's no braking, there's no energy recovered, it's only as good as any another efficient petrol. What's amazing is you can drive it with a heavy foot, having loads of fun and still get 17-18 on the highway. And in the city, it's just brilliant. Easily does 18-22 kmpl in very heavy traffic. Fun fact, in the recent Bangalore rains, i got stuck in traffic taking 3 hours to travel 6 kms. Reset the trip meter to see what it says after about a km of this. So it does 24 kmpl over a 5 km distance that took nearly 3 hours, and the AC was on full time. Because the engine was off most of the time coming on just once in a while to top up juice lost by running the AC.

Few things missed and would have added a great value to the video. 1. Refueled and manual calculation would have defined the correct mileage. 2. Are all the vehicle tank capacities the same? If not, then point 1 would have come in handy.
@abhinavk3505
@abhinavk3505 2 года назад
Agreed with point 1, but point 2 won't make sense buddy because all 3 cars have different fuel types. To say, City's capacity is 40L and Virtus' capacity is 45L, but it is obvious that Diesel is definitely more efficient than the Petrol (in this case it's a Turbo Petrol which eats fuel like anything) and the EHEV with it's hybrid technology is also really efficient. So considering the fuel tank capacity won't make much sense

Loved the video. Thank you. I am again happy to own a diesel Scross which gives me 26 kmpl on highways even after 52000 kms on the odo. A properly maintained diesel is actually not as polluting as it is projected to be. It's almost 19/20 between a normal petrol and diesel when it comes to CO2 emissions and other pollutants. Sad that we are being forced to let go the beauty of an engine and settle for hybrids and EVs. So if I have to let go my Scross in the near future, I will go for the Virtus. 700+ kms on a semi-performance car is hugely commendable. Bro, City's a diesel, it's obvious that Diesels are much efficient than Petrol. In this case, it is a Turbo Petrol which is a fuel-guzzler, so an extra 5L of fuel won't give the Virtus any unfair advantage! And moreover, City Ehev is a strong Hybrid. Considering the fuel tank capacity of these car's won't make any sense.

It would have been great if you filled up tank in the end and posted the real mileage figures. Exactly the power wrt to mileage the diesel is the best. In petrol/turbo petrol when we drive a little bit enthusiastically the mileage reduces a lot compared to turbo diesel/diesel. Also the diesel is 8-10rs cheaper on avg. In city traffic condition, driving diesel manual is bit easier than petrol manual. But sadly manufactures are phasing out diesel engines.

I bought the Vw Virtus on 23rd july 2022, completed 1700 kms till 2nd august and reported a problem to service centre when i went in for swagat check up that the car is pulling to the left. They tried to solve the problem by exchanging front tyres, got back the car, problem was not solved, reported it back on 6th august. They confessed that the car is new and they don’t have any data for wheel alignment. I was called back on 11th august, i dropped my car and back to back 3 wheel alignments were done with trials, problem was not solved i tried showing the car 3rd party wheel alignment centres and they did not have the data for the car too, until now i had completed 3400 kms, now i had a indistrial vist to ahmedabad, mumbai, pune for which i travelled 2400 kms in my car and i face severe left shoulder pain in my trip for those 10 days, now i dropped my car again and 2 wheel alignments have been done again but the problem has not been solved as i went for the trial, service centre has opened up the disk of the car( which is a technical term of vw service centre to solve the issue via company ) service centre has acknowledged the issue now, but none of have the solution for this. Now as a part of doubt i went and took a test drive of both manual and automatic 1.0 demo cars and both of them were pulling to the left, which was shocking. As a part of doubt now i went to check skoda slavia and noticed that the car has same problem, till now i drove 4 cars and reported the same problem. See i have experience of around 2 lakh kms of driving in last 10 years in which i have driven 80kms on my VW Polo, so i have not faced an issue like this before. One suggestion came in as the road bankings are made on the left side so the car pulls on the left side but them someone suggest to drive the car wrong side on the same road and if car is pulling towards the divider, opposite to the banking, then the issue is serious, i did it. This is a serious issue and i have a tremendous shoulder pain. Writing this to big car channel, so that Vw should recognise this issue. Thank you🙏🏼

So a diesel without tall ratios would be less efficient than a hybrid.. something to think about while making the purchase decision

Now something these guys missed here. To really come to think of it, are we ever going to do this much highway driving in our day to day life? We all have to admit that most of our travel with the City, is going to be in, you guessed it right, “The City”. Be it going to work from Noida, Gurgoan or New Delhi or Bombay itself, the Hybrid makes sense any day. Bumper to Bumper traffic is what we shall encounter everyday and that’s where the Hybrid can do almost 30 Kmpl (yes more than the claimed mileage). And for those random trips you’d take once in a blue moon, a simple gap of 10kms between the diesel and Hybrid will definitely not burn your pocket.

I have 4th gen Honda City Diesel and I am not that much of a adrenaline junkie , I prefer to drive on a light foot . On long drives my car has given 27 kmpl mileage .

Guys, you missed to mention one thing. Each car has different Tank sizes, I supposed VW has largest tank compared to Hondas.. It would be good if you have given that insight as well. But nice video.. Appreciate you guys on doing this.

The review does not mention the main point. What is the fuel tank capacity in each case (full tank is a stupid measure)? What is the kmpl achieved? What is the km per rupee? What is the cost difference, and additional km needed to cover the cost?

I've booked a City Hybrid... Delivery estimated Jan 2023. (Booked it about a month and half ago). I do have a special love for diesels...have been driving various Ford diesels for the last 15yrs... But have reached a point in life where I can't handle the city traffic and the clutch is getting way to heavy for it. I do drive on highways and am usually not a very aggressive driver so in all wanted the comfort of an automatic and the efficiency of a diesel and the hybrid seems to best for the bill... However quite an expensive vehicle though

Diesel rocks all time! Please pass this video till it reaches Nitin Gadkari. Diesel is the future, I travel for 1000kms in a single stretch non stop, no electric car has that range and petrol is literally joke in terms of power and torque and mileage (combined). BS 6 Diesel engines have the same emission as Petrol engines, so that's the best step. Buy Diesel cars, save fuel, for 100km travelled Diesel cars consume around 5 liters whereas Petrol cars consume around 7+ liters. People wondering about the maintenance cost, please note its the same and the sales people hype that to sell more Petrol cars because profit margin on Petrol cars for a company is maximum due to low manufacturing cost of Petrol engine.

my Kia Sonet diesel Manual always does 950 kms range on a tank with 100 kms range left. Despite filling the boot full of luggage and 3-4 passengers seated and steadly maintaining 100-110 kmh. I get the above range and ac on and off at times. Diesel is always frugal and meant to be on highways without burning a hole in the pocket.

This Video shows the real world out there, as they mentioned Hybrid is super cool with a long-range but we humans tend to do things our way so clearly only an Army veteran can do what it requires for 30+ KMPL or if City Hybrid is kept only for City driving hands down the best But VW group has undoubtedly given us something Honda has never dared to touch in the Indian market. I am curious to know how the upcoming Toyota Hydrider performs against these. "The Next Video"

My car runs nearly 30kms after it shows empty, it is a 3 year old i20. So instead of tapping out when it shows 0 on the dash, I suggest run it till it actually coughs as that will truly be the actual mileage of these cars ( for further guidance I suggest watching the Top Gear UK's economy run in ukraine and the black pool race ) Good Video though.

Virtus can do a 830km on a single tank if only the throttle is moderated. The two cyclinder mode activates on less engine load. Once activated if we engage cruise control, there will be mileage feast. I wonder if the guy on the virtus was aware of this
@adityaroy7720
@adityaroy7720 2 года назад
Even the City Diesel would give 950+ on cruise control ... Virtus is a performance oriented car, please don't suggest anyone to drive it like that.... Keep it very straightforward... If you wan't excellent efficiency alongwith power, go for diesel... For best city traffic efficiency, hybrid is the one... And performance is another name for a Slavia 1.5 manual but if you wan't comfort on a little loss of performance, 1.5 DSG Virtus/Slavia is the choice..... If you'd test efficiency of these cars at 120 kmph, diesel would be twice as efficient as the others 😂... People need to understand these things and then get a car accordingly
@easternprestige
@easternprestige 2 года назад
@@adityaroy7720 Ofcourse there is no replacement for a Diesel. All I meant was that you can get more mileage out of that Virtus purely because of the ACT tech.
