I tried the same car. It can be perfect as a daily driver. Parking backwards can be a little problem in the begining due to the small rear window, but its only a matter of time to get used to it. My biggest cons against the 8th and 7th generation Civic, is if the road is bad quality or bumpy, the car doesnt handle it very well...specially in the backseat can be quite uncomfy. The 1.4 engine variant in the 7th gen and the 8th gen is kinda weak...specially if you use the AC aswel. The shifter for me with the clutch is an etalon...really smooth, really comfy specially in the 7th gen...altough both 7 and 8th clutch system can be a weakpoint, and also the shifter aswel. The consumption is kinda okey. For me it was around 7-8l/100.
I have IX 1.8 FL. It is a great daily, until you need to run on highway. Velocity over 100-110 kmh is so noisy! Moreover this vibration from engine is completely uninsulated. I am a honda guy, however, this thing is a big issue. It is a great car for city or subburbs, but Avoid long traveling...
Coming from a guy who has now Civic Tourer 1.8 2014 pre facelift model and changed at least 10 different cars in last 6 years I can tell you this car has less noise then some much more expensive cars. Try driving it at 160kmh and above and then sit in a diesel Passat B8 drive also same and then come back here to comment. Aerodinamics at certain speeds are better with 9th gen Civic then many other cars out there.
@@The_Touring_Jedi I can compare my Honda Civic to the cars I have driven. These include the Focus ST FL 2022, Kodiaq 2.0 T with DSG 2023, Tiguan 1.5 T 2020, and my previous daily driver, the Accord Type S 2.4 manual 2003. All of these cars were or are way less noisy. At speeds under 90-100 km/h, they are comparable. However, at higher speeds, the Civic is much louder. Even when I used to drive my Accord at 160-180 km/h, it was still less noisy than the Civic at 120 km/h. It is a car for city and suburbs. Not for highways. Altough it is still a great car and I like it a lot. I have already driven it over 100k km so far since 2021!
Would you say this car would be a suitable upgrade from a 1.25 Ford fiesta? I’m looking for a bigger and more spacious car but also comfortable and fun to drive too
@@LatecoBraxatoris My consumption with 2014 Civic Tourer 1.8 is 7.5l per 100km and this is only short trips and urban driving. On Highway at 120kmh it is 6.5 liters and open road to 80kmh is down to 5.7liters. Mine is at 102.000km at the moment and drives like a new car. Had trips trough Germany with it at average of 160-190kmh it took 8.8 liter tested at refueling after 400km driving at that speeds. It runs great even loaded on Highway hills not a single time I needed to shift lower into 5th gear it goes like crazy from 150kmh when you push it.
It is very decent :) It depends on the roads and on the owner. This Civic had over 120k kilometres and suspension was like new, no bad noises. I have driven Honda HR-V with 80k kilometres and it was disaster. Every pothole was very noisy from the suspension.
I think it is enough, but there is no boost kick because lack of the turbo. So, it depends on what are you used to. Engine is strong but acceleration is not wow.
