Impressions of my 2009 #Honda #Civic EX-L Coupe, fully loaded for the year. I wanted to revisit the #8thgen to see if it lives up to it's name in the used car market.
@@RideYEG sure is, I used to drive VW for about 10 years it was really nice the first 6 of them no problems at all, but always wanted to try a Civic so got me one it only had 40 k km on the clock, and have served me the first year spotless only done the service and still smells and looks like brand new :)
no reactive multi-link double Wishbone in back 1 test drive I could instantly tell lower Redline less aggressive front end but more torque but I like revs better even the r18 with this muffler delete that I have sound sexy I'm sticking with the 8th generation the driving Dynamics and The Styling is so much better and I love these last naturally-aspirated Honda Screamers
They really are! Always a plus to do your own maintenance when it's not too hard. Saves a trip to the shop and you learn something new. Thanks for watching✌️
Good video! I have an 07 EX coupe with 289,000 miles /465,000 kms and it still drives strong. The only problems which I've experienced are those common to the 8th gen being... the clear coat issue which looks terrible so I wrapped the car. Every one I see are the same. The A/C clutch has given me problems twice now and unfortunately it wasn't the relay. The stock radio kicked the bucket years ago so I put in an aftermarket. I also had to replace the third brake light (LED). It really is a great car that is fun to drive and it's been very reliable and affordable to maintain. I'm happy to say that it's still going strong. Cheers!
The problem that your car have are exactly the problems that my car has might clear coat looks faded but I dig the look and I've never ever had anyone say anything bad about the pain
I have an 07 civic coupe EX just like this one, but the paint job is bad, it’s my daily so it doesn’t matter lol I love it. It’s been a great car so far. 161k miles.
I love my 8th gen Civic Coupe. I'm from the Netherlands, the coupe of this gen never released over here. People mostly drive hatchback and sedan, not a lot of 3-doors coupe. My dad, being a retired car mechanic mainly for Honda all throughout his working life, found me my car on a Dutch online marketplace. We both had never seen this version before, which is weird since my dad basically lives and breathes Honda. Mine was imported from the USA in 2015 and I'm probably the only person in the Netherlands driving a 2010 Civic coupe. This car looks so much unlike the average car you'll see people driving here (mostly German and French cars). I'm used to manual driving, which over here is the default for learning to drive (those who prove to really can't drive stick are transfered on request to learning auto and still be able to get their driver's license). I always thought going auto would be like not really feeling in touch with the car, taking the joy out of driving, but I love how this Civic almost feels like a personality of his own, how the auto shift kicks in when accelerating etc. It's not that fast, but it really makes you feel that it wants to go, even more so than manual Civics and most other cars I've driven before. It's so much fun to drive. I also love that I can only have American sized plates (Euro plates are thinner and wider), which makes it stand out even more.
That’s awesome! Sounds like it would certainly stand out in the NL. Hoping to travel there later this year actually. Do you have any pics of your civic on Instagram? You can message me on IG @ride.yeg
@@RideYEG I don't have any pics of it on Insta. Mine is basically the same as yours, but in silver and an automatic. Also has the black leather seats. And it has a media screen player that I think came original. It unfortunately didn't come with all the original papers. I would love to know where in the US it came from. When I search the plate number online, it intitially came up as a hatchback Type S. I had a manual black 2001 coupe before. That one did release over here, but I think it was the last coupe model that came out. Cool! If you need recommendations outside of Amsterdam, let me know. Although you can pretty much make a roundtrip of the entire country in a day haha. It's a pretty cool country, hope you'll enjoy it!
Yeah mine is an 07 lx coupe and actually a motorcycle hit me on the passenger side right where the headlight is so I need to start looking for aftermarket parts to mod it now
10:14 the paint peeling is more common in warmer climates. It can also happen in colder climates too but not as often as warmer climate cars. Rust is more common in colder climate cars because of the salt used on the roads during winter.
When you opened the truck I thought you was going to have a bicycle in the back,i like how you have winter wheels and summer wheels I prefer the all silver gloss alloys. I have a 2006 Civic ex coupe MT. I get 40c 46h
06 auto coupe ex. How many miles on yours. I’m at 137k. I know there’s a possible engine block issue but never had this issue. Love the car and probably dive over 200k before getting anything else.
0607 and 08 Honda Civic Coupes are special I think it looks the best before they gave it the facelift those early 8th generation Coupes are rolling artwork no overhangs barely some of the smallest Fender to Tire gaps in the industry at the time steeper rake in the windshield in the Acura NSX supercar hydraulic power steering that gives you great Road feel a multi-link double Wishbone suspension that makes these eight gens handle better than 9s...
Someone was doing e-brake slides in your Civic.. 201k so far I've replaced water pump radiator thermostat struts upper control arms, about 5 days ago I went out to leave for work turn the key and nothing happened but it's been slow crank for a little bit do I knew it was going starter just went 201k just got a remanfd one from auto zone and she still purrs like a kitten... she hasn't fired up yet fast like this since I've owned her...
I had mine come on just a few times. It seems to go away after restarting the engine but has not come back... Not too sure the actual cause to be honest, sorry! Thanks to watching.
There's a sensor in the passenger seat that will turn the airbag off if something is less than 50 lbs so if you have anything in the passenger seat the light may come on
@@RideYEG Oh damn. Mine doesn't have one tho. But same exterior looks with sunroof/moonroof. :) I was checking you video too before buying the car. :) Hmmm. Just a plain grey color nothing fancy just to make the car look clean again from all the clear coat paint peeling off. :)
Even the early 8th generation base models or something special the 06 r18 Coupe will hit 60 almost 2 seconds quicker than the 2009 r18 equipped Civic Coupe almost 2 seconds slower with the same engine ... I test drove a base model 2010 Civic Coupe and it felt slow as f****** s*** the early 8th generation are most definitely 100% the fastest base models just a little over a second slower to 60 than the SI Coupe 6.4 versus 7.7 seconds respectively
Nice 👍🏼 the civic is good for commute and fuel economy and reliability. The SI is for people that think their car is fast. Lol 200 HP is not going to beat a MKZ with reliability and added power. SI is a joke. I do like you car tho. The shifter is awkwardly placed to and brake.. Ford really did it right with the manual Focus titanium hatch with seat and wheel upgrades like 18 inch. Honda only offers 16.. wow
