The 8th Gen is the first smart sports car and engine. 1.8L, The torqueness is from the electronic manifold. That's actually genius how it works. On sohc the 3 stage variable timing manifold sets the car equivalent to a 2.0 and at cruising speed the engine cams change to on par with a 1.5L pretty neat tho.and the cylinder oil spray jets. The manifold either makes the tubes long. Or short. For gas and for race. The I in VTec is the 2nd VTec engine And is the gas saver side. Sports mode is achieved with ivtec sooner, and better, better cause the torquy manifold,. Where VTec needed to be higher rmp to be in sports mode
