HONDA CIVIC X CVT gearbox FAILED! 

Well.. I have had three civic X models 2017, uplift 2019 and 2020 never faced any such issue. I'd love to share with everyone here that once I hit my car and the gear chamber broke, cvt oil got leaked from the broken chamber. I got it replaced from Honda North..a week later I broke it again hitting the same spot on the same road(18k mileage). I didn't bother spending a lot of money again and getting it replaced from Honda dealership because I knew it's just a piece of metal that can be purchased on much lower price from market, this time I experimented changing the Honda Genuine Cvt oil too and got Luqui Molly CVT oil.. I left the car to the mechanic and got busy.. when I came back he said it's fixed. After 8 months ODO meter reading was 53k so periodic maintenance was required...I went to the dealership for periodic maintenance..up on inspection I came to know there was no oil coming out of the gear oil guage.. I asked the dealership guys to inspect it thoroughly.. they said there is oil but very less than what's required. I called the mechanic and asked him.. fortunately that Mechanic's workshop was on a friend's property, I asked him to tell me the truth otherwise I will get him out of that property(It was just a threat to know the truth)..he confessed that he had stolen some 40% of the gear oil. It was a shock for me and for the dealership mechanics too that a car had done 35k kilometers without cvt oil and it didn't broke, the cvt didn't fail or I didn't face any problem at all. So the whole point of sharing my experience is, fellows it's just a mechanical component which is prone to faults or errors. It can happen to anyone anytime. Second point I wanna mention is that Civic's have this steering rack issue..we face it because of our roads and In USA they're facing it too on their rough roads.. they don't complaint or ask so much from a car as much as we do. Civic is not a khotarolla. It requires care. Civic owners should know that it requires a heavier pocket to own a Civic in Pakistan than to own a Corolla.

Maintaining car from local workshop will always result into this. I disagree with you. Gear failure is not reported in civic x . The owner must have done something which destroyed the gear.

Just change CVT oil on time and drive with light foot, specially while launching the car, avoid driving in S. Most people think S means sport mode, which isn't. It just increase revs. With proper care and timely maintenance, Honda engines can last more than 500k Kms.

Just two weeks back, my 4yrs old Honda Vezel CVT failed. Had minor transmission problem for last 3 yrs but last two weeks was a total failure. While driving suddenly transmission just disengaged from engine. Had to coast car to a safe place to stop. Call for tow to shop. Got the CVT problem it fixed in few days and now back to normal. Whew! Hope this repair will last couple more years.

This same happened with our Honda BRV 2019 and CVT belt was damaged but the car was moving a bit. We took the car to honda ring road and they charged us 1 lac 50 thousand for just CVT belt and it was second hand used CVT belt taken from Bilal gunj but first they told us that the belt will be new but they lied to us and when all fitting was done they told us that the belt is has been replaced. The charged us so much amount for the CVT belt which is available in market at very low price. Never go to the showrooms for such repairs they overcahrge and get things done from outside vendors.

Sir, toyota corolla gli 1.3 manual facelift 2018 mein konsa gear oil use karein kitna dalta hai aur kia price hai. Sir g, first gear oil kitne kilometers pr change karein. Please reply for guidance, thanks

Honda ka CVTF jo hay woh 2 types( two different regions say aata hay) Honda Showrooms made indonesia use krtay hain woh sasta hota hay and quality wise bhi kam aur dosra made in thailand hota hay woh mehenga hota hay woh local market say milta hay. 3rd type Made in japan hota hay jo k synthetic hota hay yeh sab se best hota hay use k liye but costly hota hay . So never use cheap CVT types such as indonesia made

Gear oil change ke baad Calibration nai hui jis ki waja se ye masla aaya. Sari ghalati company ki nai hoti.

Same mere sath yahi hua tha meri gari k gear box ki halat is sy b buri thi. Is masle sy bachne ka sbse acha hal ye hai gari ko ziada accelerate na kro orignal honda sy gear box 5 lakh ka hai mene pindi sy 1 lakh 20 hazar ka lia tha

The cvt belt broke it is a common problem as maybe the person was driving bit too weirdly that put alot of torque at the belt and it broke Honda says they fixed it by a more beefier one to stop this just install a American model civic cvt sport one it will be better but if you tune it and cross the 300nm limit of the belt it will break .Honda just change to a dct tranny we want to make more power

Same civic turbo 2017 i have and 2 dafa gear chain tor chuki hai cvt gear bekaar hai honda ka like 2 dafa gear box change like 4 lacks shame on honda

Mai ne gari rent pe di thi same masla huwa unno ne 180 speed mari thi koi guide kar sakta hai pls 2018 k liya konsa engine oil wagara use kare!

Prevent civic x from cvt failure, change oil every year. If turbo change oil every 6 months. Along with cvt filters. Ull feel smooth shifting. Try it out.thank me later.

Brand new 80000 chali hue... gear dalny k bad shifting smooth hai... ary bhai CVT main konsi gear ki shifting hoti hai ?

Dear what about new swift glx CVT. Osne same problem he ya nahi? Iski CVT ki belt mil Katie he ya nahi. Mjhe swift Leni he is lye porch raha hn.

Use Caltex or Amsoil gear oils, having 01 and 02 in world don't compromise on gear oil and engine oil

For God sake don’t over exaggerate I owned 2 2016 2021 both are fantastic nothing wrong drove 2016 218,000 km but Honda maintained not like other desi mechanics
