Very well done video. Only thing is the year model. Im sure thats the 2010-2011 body style but they all are on a similar platform. Very informative steps.
The one thing that I think was mess for those of us watching these kinds of videos in order to DIY our own, is how to take off and put back on the axle nut, using a torque wrench instead of an impact tool. Also, knowing its torque number would be good too, for those of us having a problem finding these number due to our inexperience of where to look. It's not just on the Honda sites.

New subscriber here. Could you please direct me to a video where you have replaced backing plates on an 05 CRV or similar. All 4 of mine are rusted right off. I also have to do wheel bearings. I hope my 05 is similar to the 2012 you did here? Sure wish mine looked like this underneath..yours looked like must be a Cali car or Arizona maybe. A joy to work on in comparison. And last question, can I replace the entire front hub wheel bearing assembly in a similar fashion to the rear? I doubt any pressing is possible at this point. Hopefully you can provide some tips on doing backing plates. Can't believe how hard it is to find any info on them. Thanks for this vid, well done. Since you asked, the only thing I noticed you didn't do was torque the caliper slide bolts, axle nut and you used an impact driver on the wheel 😳🙁 I don't torque any of those except I do plan to torque that axle nut. It must be around 150 ftlb? I'll look it up. On rims I have had to finish scraping off the clearcoat wear back of rim rests against hub face. It started to flake and made getting a nice clean and true seat hard to do so to avoid loose lug nuts I scraped right down to the aluminum. Since I swap rubber at least spring and fall I haven't worried about any electrolysis. Plus both surfaces are very heavy metal. Anyway, never done a backing plate on any car in all my decades so tips appreciated and excellent video here👍🙏
Oh man,,, you made a great video, but torque for four bolts of bearing assembly should be 72 ft-pounds (cca 95Nm), I used 115 ft-pounds and destroyed the thread... the value of 72ft-pounds is in SKF manual or in other videos on yt. Please check it.
Yeah this is a different design than the second gen. The second gen is so much harder. You have to take the entire assembly out and press out the bearing.
What is the name of that part of the tire, mine is failing, it moves well, I see the back like a ship every time I go over a pothole and they say that it is that part that is bad but I don't know where to buy it, it is a 2005 Honda CRV 2.4 engine
Good video but the screws holding the rotor are not Phillips head screws. They are JIS ( Japanese Industrial Standard ). If those screws were tightly bound or rusted, a number 2 or 3 Phillips screwdriver would not work and damage the screw head. I learned this lesson. Also, you never torqued the axle nut.

That is the first time I have seen shims on a brake caliper bracket. There must have been a clearance issue at the factory or somewhere in the vehicles history.
FYI : - the axel nut and rotor screws are known for being difficult to remove on the Crv … - I’d recommend researching these aspects of the process separately before doing this
