My 2001 DC2 fuel pump isn't priming.i checked everything, all the connections work fine as they should except power from main relay to fuel pump. Main relay is brand new. This problem started happening occasionally that's when I changed the relay. Then happed again after a while and I changed the 15A fuel pump fuse and it had a great run until now it stopped for good. When I turn the ignition I feel a very faint kick to the relay. I even powered the fuel pump directly to the battery to see if it works and it does and I tried starting the car like that but it didn't fire up. Have you ever came across something like this?
I bought a 89 civic hatchback and it has the 1.6 vtec sohc with the 5 speed manual in it bought it cheap it has crank but no spark no fuel where should I start any help would be great.
Hi I would check all fuses under dash fuse box and engine bay fuse box. If the vehicle was previously running just fine alot of the time it’s a grounding issue on the engine wire harness. Check the ground on the thermostat housing, starter motor and valve cover. I’ve heard of people moving the valve cover ground wire to the powering steering bracket and solving your exact issue! Ok, so, I have a question since I have the same model year and I believe that’s a 1.6 SOHC in there too. My main relay should be my issue if my ECM was recently replaced *if* when I go to crank I no longer hear the relay click, or fuel charge. Meaning I don’t hear the tick and whirr i usually would before the car decided to not wanna crank anymore. I’m gonna test that wire, and also let it sit on for a bit as you stated towards the end, but it should be the main relay is my issue right?
If main relay didnt do no fuel pump prime then u jump by switching out ecu (can use a 92-95 prelude accord whatever itll make the fuel pump prime) or even inspect your current ecu from there if nothing then fuel pump took a dump but try tapping the fuel tank hard to see if it makes it work
I have similar issue on my suzuki every, have crank but no start. I have changed 3 ecu and i am quite sure its not ecu problem. The vechle was running perfect before it broke down. And i kind of "fixed" this issue by a relay bypass(on 1 of the relay i have no clue what its for) The car works again but it runs with engine light and higher idle, which part should i make further inspection on?
So I just did my wiring harness in my 97 ex coupe I just finished swapping it with a d16y7 and relaxing the wiring harness I have no spark and my fuel pump isn't kicking on
Need help!!!! Having issue i have a 2000 civic lx its a 5 sped manual it was auto b4 someone made it manua i hit a bump and the car shut off i heard knocking thouht it was blown motor car wouldnt start anymoore swapped with an ex 96 motor harness for engine and computer still havig issue car wont start people telling me that a bunch of different things but main relay ground and fuses are good somome help b4 this happen fuel pump would prime now it doesnt
you could do that main thing is getting checks for everything the ecm needs first the main relay is a common failure but im starting to see more ecm's crapping out
You never start with what the symptoms are… any engine noise when trying to start? Or completely silent? I have plenty of battery and lights so I also suspect the relay
I have a similar issue, my car will start and immediately die, and then when i try to turn on again itll crank but not start until a bit later. Did u figure out ur issue?
I got the same question. Seems like if it's grounded by the ecm with a test light it will show power until u cycle the key it will ground out? Meaning the test light should turn off if ecm is working properly when u cycle key?
