This is my biggest pet peeve in my cars. No eating anything! I don't even like putting take out in my car because of the residual smell. When I have to I open a window if possible or put it in the trunk. No drinks either, except bottled water. That's why my cars still smell almost new years later.
I took my car to Honda service for this same issue. I was told the parking brake switch needs to be changed after they changed it the light still was on and then was told it is contaminated with liquid and it’s a $4,200 fix 😳 thanks for this video
How did you fix it bro? Did you have to take it apart? I’ve been looking for videos about how to disassemble it because the same thing happened to me and neither the parking break or the brake hold button works
I spilled a drink on this exact area and both break and break system light is on. Assuming a liquid hit and defected the switch. Is this an easy fix if I can order the part? If so I have no idea on how to change it.
My 2018 civic hatchback won’t start with the same electric parking brake problem but the radio and lights work. I didn’t spill any liquid. I jumped started it and drove it for about 1/2 hr then parked my car. Next morning, the same problem occurred. Car won’t start with the same msg. My car only has 3000 miles on it :(
Ok, from the title I was already thinking that it was spilled coffee or soda that cause the issue. Then 5 second in and that shot of the parking break area confirmed what I already knew. No way Honda would skimp on parking break stuff. User error.
my problem is kinda the same , but it shows on the dasher that is on, but it really isn’t on . I got my rear brakes change & he said that he reset it & once he was done he tried to put it back to normal but it didn’t want to.
So i know you are stating what this issue is caused by but that being said is it just cleaning of food residue that corrects this or new switch replacement that is needed?
Can you make a videos on the whole replacement process I’m currently dealing with this issue now. Don’t wanna spend thousands of dollars if it’s a simple job
I spilled a drink about 2 inches on drive mode and e brake area but it’s functioning correctly should I take it in and get it dried or are the new 2023 models equipped with covers inside
