Me and the Wife bought a new Element in 2008, still going in 2024, 250,000 miles, still going strong, best vehicle ive ever owned in 40 years of driving.
I really want to love ours, but there’s just enough that I’m not sold on that doesn’t ring my bell. It’s very noisy, but on the flip side, I love its turning radius.
You have the EXACT same Element as me, same color and everything. I watch all these vids. Never would it occur to me to depress those buttons and click the ignition over. Just mind boggling. Thank you so much
Just subscribed! Wife has an '05 Honda Element and has AC issues. Pep Boys wanted to charge her thousands to replace the compressor? And I'm gonna try those error codes to see if theres anything electronic. Thank you!
Thank you for your help. You have begun to help me. I’m getting error code #9. Could you elaborate further on that? It appears both of my fans are not spinning. I suspect that is a good part of the issue. Many thanks. JH
Thanks for this. Trying to figure out why there's a "knock-knock" sound coming from my engine bay on my 09 Element. Not easy, but this helps to understand a little about the AC system.
great information. my 95 Civic the heat / cold blend is acting up. On cold I can feel the air a bit warm which makes the AC not as cold. Don't know how to get into diagnostic mode on my Civic.
I have a question and YES I did subscribe…I have a used 2011 Element LX…and from my previous new 2010 Element, the MAX A/C portion of the knob doesn’t blow with increased intensity and I’m wondering if it’s a simple switch issue or more involved. My Honda shop can look at it for $189…yeah, right
I’ve included a video with this. Hopefully it comes through. On my previous 2010 Element, when I turned the 3rd dial to the far right from AC to MAX AC, there was a dramatically increase in blower speed. I have a used 2010 Element and that function does not work…you’ll see and hear in the video, as I explained previously, there’s no increase in blower speed or sound. Is the switch bad? Is there a fuse that covers this feature?
Well, maybe it’s me but the video isn’t uploading. It’s not working as I described… when you turn the dial to max AC, there is no additional boost in flow sound or pressure it does nothing
Hi Danny - 2004 Element. The AC fan is not working. The relays checked good and all associated fuses are good so we replaced the fan. It still doesn’t work. We noticed a wire not connected laying near bottom of both fans (disconnected). There is a receptacle on the fan shroud but it doesn’t go anywhere and the shroud is plastic (I.e. no path to ground). Do you think it might be the fan control switch? Thank you.
I just counted 9 blinks- ? I took it to the mechanic before and he said the compressor needs to be replaced? Does this make sense? Thanks- Honda element 08
sorry for the late reply, No it doesn't 9 blinks is Air Mix Control Linkage or motor, but Im only going by what you said, I'm not there checking it out, keep me posted

I have a 2004 and inside is a bit different. My air went hot 2 days ago , after I sat in car with it off and checked with the buttons like he said to do … I had to get home so I started it up and the air went back to cold … but I think it’s on the blink because that’s weird …??? Has this happened to any one else ? Just wondering, I usually go to dealer for things but don’t have the bug bucks to have it fixed , smd they may say I need a new one , I only have 151K miles on mine , and it looks nice still , the paint job is really wonderful..
Why is the Honda Accord famous for leaking evaporators? Why does the evaporator escape gas? What is the cause of its damage? It is made of metal and is protected by a cover
Thank you very much for this very easy to follow video. I went to check the Schrader valves and one of them is missing. I just recently had my compressor replaced. My mechanic said that the strength of the new compressor found a weak spot in the line and caused a leak. So they put leak stuff in it. And now it is not blowing cold air again, two weeks later, so they said I need a new compressor. I did your troubleshooting steps and I had nine blanks. Only one fan is working and obviously the missing cap. They’re also was a hit from the other Schrader cap. Any suggestions? It’s a 2005 Honda element.
When I run the test by pushing the two buttons, it runs through the cycle but never shuts everything off. No blinking light, but everything just stays running. After 5 minutes-still running. Any tips?
@@dannysdiygarage yes the ac works but it blows hot and I’ve noticed that one of the radiator fans doesn’t work. And when I did the test shown in the video as soon as the fan part goes to kick on the green AC light inside the car goes off and the AC itself shuts off like it won’t blow anymore after that.
I don’t like guessing, but try disconnecting the fan motor at the fan and try it again, do all the ac control head function operate normally? Like defrost, air moves to floor, actuators on left side changes state from when you turn knob to hot and cold
@@dannysdiygarage forgive me jumping in here but I have the same thing happening. Both fans come on and then the blower kicks in and it goes off after that. No blinking lights, etc. I will upload a video that I took of it if that helps any. Also, thank you for your videos, I had no idea you could even do such a test! It was very cool to learn about this at this point after having this car for a long time. Added info: both fans turn on, blower comes on and you can feel the air inside. On my car, I've been hearing what sounds like a loud rattling type sound from around the engine area. Car runs great otherwise. I've noticed that sometimes it goes away or the loudness of it goes down after I cut off the AC. I feel like I can hear the rattling at times when the AC isn't on and I'm idling, then it cuts out when put in park? Like something is loose, maybe? I'm leaning towards failing compressor due it lessening in sound when I cut off AC? Any insight is appreciated! Thank you.
