It started back in Dec... the car was having a sort of stutter from changing gears 2 to 4... was thinking of bring it in to the shop but it kinda of just leveled on and off.. eventually in Jan it started again... and at the end of Jan I was lucky to drive it home. It was having trouble from drive to 1 at a light. Had to turn it off at the light - turn it back on the the gear would engage but then have trouble with 2-3.... hobbled back home and started making some calls. My local shop recommended a transmission shop. I called him and right off the bat he said I needed a new transmission without even seeing the car. I did a little research on the Facebook groups. A lot of Element owners also had similar problems and were able to fix them without the new transmission. I decided to give it a try before handing over $4000 for a new transmission.
