I (David) recently got a 97’ Honda Fourtrax 300 & my brother Josh has a 86’ Honda Fourtrax 250. We’ve both done a bit of upgrades. I made this video to explain in detail the installation of flush mount led pods for headlights.
hey david, thanks for the info. im almost 30 im a female and just recently bought my first 4 wheeler that is officially MINE. lol. i've been looking to upgrade my headlights and was looking all over for these and couldn;t find them anywhere till watching your video. Thank you!! and great install. if i have any questions ill watch your video again. :D
Those look awesome and you did a really clean install. Smart man using plates to spread the load out a little more on the plastics, I wouldn't use just washers either like the other guys recommended that's how you get cracked plastics in a couple years...
I wired it up how you explained. When I turn my high beams on, my two led pods go out and the light bar comes on. I can’t figure out how to get all three to stay on while on high beam like yours. Care to explain?
My light bar is wired to a separate switch. If you want the led pods to light up with your light bar, wire them to high beam so they turn on with your light bar simultaneously.
@@TheTwinsDJDESIGNS the only way to do this with the stock switch would be using a diode. otherwise when you turn the low beam on it would power both as well.
@@idiggplants If you're doing all LED's I'd hook the new Headlights to your Tail Light power wire [Brown], and then hook the Light Bar to your high beam wire [Blue]. That way with the existing Honda light switch on low beam, you get Headlights, and with high beam you get Headlights & Light Bar.
@@keithemery3866 sure, that would work as well, but thats a lot of wire routing and tapping into an extra wire when using a $2 diode would let you use all the factory wiring that is already right there where you need it. diodes are simple and cheap.
I have the same wheeler but 4x4. Did the pods already. Thinking I might need more light for plowing. Was just wondering what exactly is the light bar and where did you get it?
Thanks for the reply. I actually found them about an hour later after leaving comment. I am thinking about getting these: www.ebay.com/itm/MICTUNING-2PCS-18W-Flood-Led-Light-Bar-Flush-Mount-Led-Pods-Off-Road-Backup/132626965824 These (the ones you recommend, and by extension mine) do not have a high/low right, just on/off? because i am thinking of also ordering a light bar, and was curious if its possible to wire the high beam to the bar so i can have the pods on at all times (high/low) but only the bar on when i flip it to high beam (unless by flipping to high it cuts power to the low) cheers.
Do you have the dimensions to the plates and what thickness you used? Looking at washers and thinking the plastic is old enough that I want to spread the hold out a little more.
