That piece that you found on the front is the voltage regulator. When the voltage regulator is bad, it overcharges the cdi box and makes the cdi box get hot and burns out the cdi box. Best to replace the voltage regulator if you are burning out cdi boxes.
These wheelers are indestructible. They just have spark issues. I replaced ALL electronics on mine including the CDI and nothing. Bought another CDI after replacing it once and boom fired right up. Bought a faulty one the first time. Ran flawlessly until the key was left on. It has since done it again no spark, but I think it may be a bad CDI again. Might replace the voltage regulator too because it keeps burning up CDI's.
Voltage regulator goes on the back left side above the back wheel. they burn out and if it does not work you wont spark. the voltage regulator has a wire that goes to the cdi cdi leads to coil pack coil pack to spark plug. sounds good i got the 1998 trx300 just replaced everyrthing but my wallet lmfao
Is your quad a kickstart or push start? I'm having the same issue. No spark. Have replaced the ignition coil, IGNITION coil cap, spark plug and cdi and still no spark. Mine is a kick start 92 honda trx250x
Im having the same issue. No spark. Have replaced the ignition coil, IGNITION coil cap, spark plug and still no spark. Mine is a kick start 92 honda trx250x. I ordered the cdi box hopefully thatll help me get it running
Hey man i bought a 1989 TRX 350 and it's missing the stupid metal gas tank that Honda conveniently installed directly beside one of the hottest running mufflers ever put on an ATV. It's also missing the fuel pump and so my question is this... I have a brand new rack pack Polaris gas jug and I converted it into a regular gravity fed gas tank with petcock valve and I'm working on it now and wondering if you have ever tried gravity feeding fuel to bypass the fuel pump nonsense and save me oh almost three hundred dollars? I appreciate it my friend
So you took the kids advice who screwed you on the 4 wheeler that " it only needs a coil" (with the broke brake drum and stripped rear end) without further testing to confirm that is the part it needs?🤷🏻♂️
Hides the key for the four wheeler with no spark 😂. I guess they could loose it. You really have been flipping stuff for years?? There is no acceleator pump on those ATVs so puping the gas did nothing 🤷🏻♂️or are you punking us on that 🤣
