We swap a modern rear brake master cylinder onto our 1982 GL1100 Honda Goldwing. The rear master cylinders are no longer available for purchase and you need to make an adapter to utilize a new one.

i had to do this on my 1982 yamaha xj1100 maxim cause they dont sell parts for it anymore .they should continue making these parts plenty of us out there still have nice clasic bikes worth keeping on the road.

Checked room for suspension moving? it seemed to me that maybe the suspension arm could touch the rear bolt head and the front side of the master cilinder housing

Nice add on, I have an 83 and rebuilt the MC which has worked until now. After bleeding I'll go for about 3-5 miles and the rear brakes will set up (DOT 3 according to anuel). any ideas?

Is the banjo bolt the same ? Nice job, I need to do the same, what about the front master cylinder have you done anything with that?

Not done any mods to the front brakes. Yes, the banjo bolt was the same size. Good luck👍

Did the aluminum body fail? I have an 83 and the threads at the bottom are rough. Brakes work but everything is rusty. Looking into this project now

I rebuilt the original master cylinder to no avail. Replacing it did the trick
