Thinking about buying a Honda Jazz or Fit? I'll take you through the specs, trims, things to look out for, and what they are like to drive & own. Get the 'Takumi the Tank Engine' Tshirt I'm wearing in the video here: jazdashop.com/
Good review. I'm on my fifth Jazz, well Fit this time. I ended up buying a 1.3 fit for me and a 1.5RS for the Mrs, both CVT. The RS is not fast but the extra torque is great when you have four adults and a bunch of luggage on Honda. I bought imports cause I was fed up with how fast they rust in the UK winters, and wanted a low miles rust free older car for sensible money. Yes, they rust as bad at the mk1 in the UK, the worst area is around the petrol flap. The salt builds up around it hidden in the inner wing. I have no idea why Honda did not fit a plastic guard to stop it. Despite this I'm very happy with them.
We dont have the rust problems in Australia and I found the Japanese import hybrids are way too expensive compared to the non hybrid that was sold here.
The 1.5 was sold in South America as well. That motor built in brazil is made even today for the wr-v (a Fit/Jazz with mini suv face and more ground clearence).
I just purchased the 2011 GLI version in Australia. (1300 5 speed manual, Thai made) Thankfully they come with a full-size spare wheel without comprise to the space in the back.
I can see many with heated seats in England. Usually the ones optioned with leather are with heated seats. Some hybrids have them and mostly EXL model. The panoramic glass roof is such a great option too. Nice video!
I've never seen one with leather seats here in Ireland, but I have also never looked at the hybrids - most of the hybrids seem to have a much higher spec.
It`s a great little car! Got my `09 Jazz in 2020 and it is still such joy to ride every time I take it to a winding road. It`s no BMW or Audi, but you get a lot for your money. Had a couple of things to work on such as A\C and rear brake calipers, but otherwise no problems at all.
I love my Jazz Si, I have it in black and everything is stock from the outside. I have wrapped the fog light with a yellow tinting film and LED Reg plate lights, in the inside however, I had to get a Pioneer Apple car play 7-inch touch screen sound system and a Pioneer speakers all 4 corners. I really need a spoiler for my jazz :( Nice colour by the way
I drive a mk 1 jazz sport. 200000km and still a brilliant little car. Engine is bomb proof if you just change the oil and filter every 10000kms. I've had the usual jazz swimming pool in the boot spare wheel space. It is cause by water getting in at the ends of roof strip and leaks down the inside of the rear pillars into the boot. Easy fix with some sealer. Lots of RU-vid vids on the topic. Overall the car is in excellent condition and I can't see anything on the market that would be worth buying to replace it except possibly another jazz.
I bought a late model 2013 second gen 1.3 Vibe 3 weeks ago in Australia and its a great little car, only problem I have found is for me the foot rest is too close to the clutch pedal when depressed. I was looking for a 1.5 but most of them in the late second gen are auto and I wanted a manual, the 1.5 seems to be more common here. This vid and a few others put me onto the Jazz, coming out of a straight six Jeep TJ I was going to get a 4.0 L Barra ford but ended up with a 1.3 Jazz lol
Heated leather seats are an option, and are found on the EXL model. I like the Si as its got a sporty look to it, but come winter I'd trade that for heated leather
@Jazda uk. Funny enough been looking at jazz's tonight and came across your upload. Go on auto trader now and there 3 or 4 EXLs. It is only this model which has heated leather
Nice review. I bought a 2006 jazz sport here in Yorkshire 3 weeks ago. Kept stallin her first few days at junctions as you need more revs as you said. Also noticed the slower gear change needed. Drives well but boy does it have water leak issues. Rear floorpans both sides. Plastic aprons behind the door cards resealed twice now second time with correct rvf sealan like a black goo. Still leaking take carpets up .issue with door seal pooling at bottom and leaking in. Checked drain holes in rubber seals. There are two maybe 5 or 6 in apart so put another hole in between them to assist taking excess rain water away. Also a problem with metal seams so needs addressing. And a leak in the boot Just keeps raining so not easy as no garage.
@@Jazda Yes, making progress but need to monitor closely and apply seam sealer when it's totally dried out. Not good when the car comes with several water features.
@@Jazda Floor pans treated with seam sealer. What I thought was solid metal is actually sticky pads in the rear floor pans. They retain moisture. Also took the tailgate seal off and treated the metal seams. Rubber seam not great. Had a small 3 hour window then more rain. Still raining. Will wait till Saturday then see if solved. Hope to come back to Ireland next year
Quick question I have a second Gen 1.3, what is the difference between the UK/Irish models? in Oz we only got 1.3 and 1.5 you guys seemed to also get 1.2 and 1.4. As well you don't have the factory Bluetooth on the drivers pillar our cars have? was that an option in UK/Ireland? Cheers
There were 2 engines offered here. 1.2 and 1.4. Some people incorrect list the 1.4 as a 1.3, as it's just over 1.3 litres. The 1.5 was never sold here, so the only 1.5 ones you see here are Jap imports. Not sure about the Bluetooth, but I've never seen one with BT here, so maybe it wasn't an option here.
In Ireland you pay extra for insurance on Japanese imports, so it makes more sense to buy a Jazz in this market, but it will depend on where you are based. From what I've seen in Ireland, most of Jazz's seems to have a higher spec also. Manual gearbox all the way!
you missed the SI T model on the GG6 chassis (118 sold in the UK, 1000 made worldwide) it has built in satnav with bluetooth and all the tech. it also has uprated suspension! i own one! it goes round corners on rails but only has the 1.4 ivetc motor which is weak. i intend to kswap it soon.
I beg to differ. I bought it as a practical fun car. Honda are the best in the business at manual gearboxes so I'd take one over an auto or CVT every time.
@@Jazda my wife who started driving her first automatic (CVT) car would disagree with you :D CVT is good for town driving. Nothing is more annoying than slow moving traffic and a manual gear box. But in general this car lacks of power. Even more noticeable with CVT gearbox. Tried it on the motorway - meh....not fun to drive.
I have an Si and my wife has a 2nd gen CVT. The CVT is smooth and good for town driving, however, it's noisy for anything other than the slowest acceleration. When using cruise control and reach a hill, the revs suddenly go nuts to maintain speed - the manual simply applies a bit more throttle with no drama.
