My 1988 Civic hatch has a 95 JDM D15B VTEC swap and I have no reverse lights. Replaced bulbs: nothing. Going to try this route and hope it’s my switch wiring. I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not upstream in the harness connections Edit: 8/21/2022 It’s upstream in the body harness somewhere. Switch works per your method.
Perfect video. [Insert my story nobody cares about]. Advice: if the cable is a little tight, splice the cable longer using extra wire and ziptie it to the harness so it is not such a tight connection (engine revving moves the tranny a little and it might wear the cable in time)
Thanks for the video I have a 98ek I'm working on and the reverse lights are not working... I checked fuses and they are all good... wasn't to sure how else to diagnose it.
My reverse lights come on intermittently on my 2012 si coupe. This could be an indicator the switch is going out yea? I put new bulbs, fuses are good and they work sometimes but not always Edit: problem solved
@@tubejim101 so I pulled the switch out and the two prongs had dried coolant/corrosion. I think previous owner spilled coolant at some point, so it wasn’t making clean contact with the pigtail connector. Now it works fine with new lasfit LEDs. Just had to remove the intake hose and box and it’s just under that near the shift linkage. Anyways thanks for the replies brother, and keep up with the videos man because it helps a lot of people.
