You Sir are a GENIOUS. I just bought a 2023 NC750X that didn't come with a center stand. I bought the original Honda center stand like you did and installation went smoothly. Using the rope makes installation of the springs a quick and easy job. Thank You Very Much!
Thanks very much for doing your very helpful videos. When I fitted my stand I found it easy to fit the springs first and then ease the greased central pin in - do not fit the stand and then try to fight with the springs to get them to fit! You can fit this stand this way by yourself without hammering. Even easier than your method (which is the next best I've found anyone suggest).
For future readers this above is the best method and helps to have a 2nd person to push the central pin into place once you have both hands pushing the stand into place (with both springs already attached). SOO much better than using all that tension or strength to brute force the spring on. I tried it with a spring tool just to break the tool. Then I tried this method and wow sooo much easier. Simply the best way to install these and barely anyone talks about it.
Just installed a centre stand to my 2105 nc750x and this video was really useful (clearer than the paper instructions provided)! The ratchet strap was genius! Your videos are my 'go to'' for all nc750x maintenance / installations. Thanks
I just realized I never thanked you for this video that helped me last year when I installed the centerstand on my NC700. While I rarely use the centerstand, I feel the bike needs one, especially after seeing that neither one of my rear stands would work on this model. It makes those 500 mile chain lubes even easier than before.
I bought a German after market centre stand and it is different to your one, but I modified it and then put it on. Made a special tool for fitting the springs. Now it works well, but it is an extra thing to check before a ride. Like the way yours is held on so I am going to modify mine to work in a similar way to yours. Think that your one is much safer. Thank you.
Hi i have watched a number of your videos for this machine and the one thing that stands out is that honda have made it easy for maintenance and fitting parts , i was looking at a vstrom 650 but i have to say after watching a guy from italy do work on it was painfull to put it bluntly love your videos and i rekon you should make up a wack of thos radiator covers and sell em you would make a killing
It's a pretty amazing time that we live in, that a Brit could help a Yank fix his Japanese bike and never leave home! I couldn't have dreamed of something this fantastical when I was a teenager working on my first motorcycle. Thanks mate!
barry shephard - lucky for you. I tried that first but the springs on mine were way too strong. On the other hand, you are probably way stronger than me!
Many thanks for this , helped my out installing an ebay centre stand ( $240 AUD vs dealer quoted $ 450) on my new 2019 NC750X, even with the ratchet strap took a few goes to get those springs on , but once done works like a charm , love your videos :-)
I really miss the old days when the very necessary center stand was designed as part of the lower frame unit...save weight and money. edit: just installed my stand...thanks for the ratchet trick, worked well with a small carabiner
Mr Fechu - tried Metzler tourance model ‘next’. Didn’t like them. Then Michelin PR4 they were excellent. Now I’ve gone for dual sport with Shinko 705. They are good all round tyres and very well priced.
Thanks for the upload, gread vid. I have just bought an NC750X and was wondering whether to buy the centre stand. I initially decided against it as I have an Abba stand, but on closer inspection at the dealer's, there isn't access to the swingarm pivot - which is what the Abba fits to. This is perhaps something to bear in mind for anyone who owns an Abba. I shall now be buying the centre stand lol.
Cosmic-Wizard - it's annoying there is no centre stand as standard. I initially thought I would do without but it's just so convenient when doing any maintenance, especially oiling the chain after a ride.
Gday mate i wish they were that cheap for the 500 , there are ones from china but as someone pointed out will you ever get it ? I rang a dealer today in fact 2 on quoted me around 400.00 and the other said it was a genuine part for about half and i think they misread the cost or didnt factor in the exsorbedent mark up , really pissed that honda did not include this as a standard item on both these bikes back in the day every bike came with one and you would remember this as we are about the same age ,so i will just have to save my pennies and pay the stealer for a proper one i think as i am not happy wondering if my chinese one will arrive ,the ratchet strap is a good idea im so glad you blokes think of all these things i would have been struggling with a bloody screwdriver trying to hook it on .
I used this video to install my centre stand today, so thank you kindly :-) I'm going to buy a slip on muffler soon which doesn't have the bump stop built in, so may have to fashion something.
Mr Fechu - I think I had the original Dunlop’s at this point. They are pretty poor but they don’t last long so I didn’t have long to wait to replace them.
Honda NC750X Stuff Thanks, as Ive ordered the same footpegs as you, Im 6’ft 2. And Can’t wait for some lower footpegs Although I ride knee down on curves.
Hello ... Congratulations fo the video and the bike!!! Could you tell me the model of this Main Stand??? I found two models in Japan: 08M70-MGS-J10 and 08M70-MGS-J30 !!! I also have an NC750X2017 (Brazil) and I'm looking for these parts ... 08M70-MGS-J30 - (HONDA NC750X RC72) 08M70-MGS-J10 - (HONDA NC750X RC72 TypeLD)
Hello Salah Sorry for the extreeeme delay ... Thanks for the tip... ... If you visit America, know Brazil ... If you travel to Brazil look for Santa Catarina ... In Santa Catarina marvel at Florianopolis ... Ahh in Florianopolis call me... Kkkk
Can you do a video on getting it onto the stand? I have the centre stand on my bike, but I'm having trouble getting it onto the stand. I tried the usual rock back and lift, but it's just too heavy
Funky Munky - hmmm. Interesting. It’s not the lightest bike to get onto the stand I have ever had but not difficult. Try putting your weight on the stand leg as you lift.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why manufacturers can’t use aluminum for these things. I’d be willing to pay a bit more for a lighter material. To mitigate wear, they could put steel bits on the high wear points.
For those interested in the stand, you can find one at the link below. It cost me under 200 Oz Brass Razoos shipped and arrived in under 7 days. And it is marked "Genuine Honda." Less than half the price for the same unit from the local Honda parts bin. japan.webike.net/products/20310343.html
And installed on my new NC. Thanks for the ratchet strap trick, though first time I tried it I realised the hook was too big. Doh! Added a shackle to the mix and it worked like a charm. I'm looking forward to replicating some of the other mods you made, particularly the radiator guard, a trunk power outlet, and the shock protector. Quite why Honda, in their wisdom, don't do this as standard is beyond me. It wouldn't cost them all that much and it makes a bit difference. Oh well. Thank you for the excellent videos!
