Nice money saving video, this definitely works. You can also use a VW drain plug and crush washer to replace the original, it'll snug down. Or put a heli-coil in it.
The original oil changer probably used an impact when installing the old bolt. I start by hand then finish with a six point box wrench. Not too tight that way. Thanks for the video.
You need to use the drill bit first appropriate for 16 mm 1.5, to make it easy, but since it is allumminum. It was easy withouth it, but if it was iron or steel, you want be able to di it unless yiu use the drill bit appropriate fornthe size you want and then ise the thread maker.
Did you know that the Mercedes drain plug is the same as the Honda plug but just longer… most of the time when those aluminum pans are damaged, just the beginning threads are damaged half of the hole is still good. Just some information that you may not know..
