Honda-Polaris-Yamaha - Attempt Islay Lake Loop - June 28 2014

Original video had technical issues.
Out with Drifter and Grassman to attempt the Islay Lake Loop and join up with where CK and I were on the Whipper Road Ride.
As you will see, it was really wet and didn't go too good. We will be back though!

i just love your videos man, i was new to atv's and i found a deal on a 03 kodiak 400 and i was trying to watch videos on them and i just couldn't stop watching your videos. Thanks! Probably a little drier in there now..it was pretty wet when we were in there. We'll have to try joining the two again sometime. We were less than a 1/4 mile apart!

***** Haha. I figured you guys get some people who don't reply back to the reply you guys wrote. Its okay if you guys cant reply back to the comments that I write. Your channel is getting up there. I wont think less of you or your channel if you cant get back to me. Everyone gets busy including me. Im amazed how much time it takes to get back to everyone. It would be neat if youtube made a separate app like texting but for comments instead. I think that would speed up the replying process a lot. Even having something like siri where all you have to do is speak it types everything out for you. I know its sometimes hard for me to reply back to the replys on the comments that ive wrote. lol. Hopefully that makes sense. Haha.

Great ride! The camp ground looks like it would be nice if we lived closer, 6 mpg ...uggg. Broke the chain on my 500 scrambler 2nd day into the 4 day weekend of our last ride, to much air (traction on landing) I guess. Going on the same trip next weekend....crossing fingers. Nice reedit Cubbee! I did not know why, until I read some of the viewers comments and then I realized why you decided to change it. I tell ya, I sure would have liked to have been there tagging along on my Rancher, you guys(Cubbee, CK, Grassman, Ricky Bobby and Drifter) would be a blast to ride with! Nice videos guys! Just bought a 2014 500 rubicon can't wait for the snow to melt here in Nova Scotia. Does that Rubicon have irs? Mine doesn't so I'm trying to Guage what it will go through without getting hung up.Looks like he does pretty good on the trail also. Love your Yamaha' s I was acually looking buy a Grizzly when I found this quad.Keep the videos comming you guys do a great job with them!

Dreded Thanks very much! Glad you enjoy the videos. Yes you're right, probably takes about 30 hours altogether to edit the longer videos. We have external mic's hooked up to the Gorpro's and lately we've been using the SENA Backpack for GoPro which records our conversations through the SENA Bluetooth headsets...much easier to edit!

Yes the shim mod is cheap, relatively easy to do and does improve bottom end. You will lose a bit of top end though. We are further east from Kenora, but very similar country! Thanks for watching.

Hey Cubbee ive been a long time viewer (you might see me posting on a lot of facebook pictures haha) i was wondering how your mic's work with noise? i know theres a video somewhere but i just cant seem to find it.. i want to start making videos like this on my old cr500 but im afraid my bike might be a bit noisey for it.

Hi David..how's it going? We were using external mics plugged into the gopro's but now with the SENA Backpack it records our conversation through the Bluetooth headsets. We do have a chunk of foam in the mouth piece to help stop the wind/bike noise. We like to hear some of the bike noise though...but still need to be able to hear our voices..kind of trail and error until we were happy with the sound.

Tyler McGowan The Grizzly has a 1.5mm shim in the clutch when the bigger tires went on, and a 2R Racing tip. That is it for mods. We live and ride in northwestern Ontario in Canada.

Great vid cubbeezx look`s pretty muddy! I wish I had my gopro for a time when we went through some tough muskeg but my mount part that screw`s to the camera case broke but final got one, but hopping next weekend being the long weekend I will get some good riding in. First I will have to do some ``repairs'' one of my friends tipped my quad when he was drunk. Took a corner to fast and broke the brake handle,also got her badly scratched. The plastics are turning light blue but nothing to major I will just have to us a heat gun some cloth that`s like sand paper can`t remember that name. Also what settings do you use on your gopro?

It is a RAM mount for the Garmin 62S...I use a ball mount, an arm and then the cradle. Very well made! Thanks for watching.

How do like the Zillas? I hear they are light weight and a soft compound. I ride over a lot of s@$ t at times. Do you ever worry about puncturing a tire or are the tough enough to take the abuse?

Jeremy Johnson Congrats on the Superclamps, glad you like them! We love our Zilla's...after 4400 km's on them no puncture or complaints of any sort. A couple of days ago we went over some really nasty sticks/logs/pokey type things and they performed great...would highly recommend the Zilla tires!

does the fella on the polaris ever have problems stripping hubs? i had a 250 trail boss that had aluminum hubs and i went through 3 sets in 3 years (i was just changing them both out when one would strip, sense the limp home put added wear on the side that didnt)

01hondascott I'm not sure exactly what was wrong, but he has blown something in the front end when we were out on one ride. Might have been a hub, or a CV joint or an axle...had to get towed home though so it wasn't good! Got it all fixed up though and we rode again!

It did ok...no low gear so getting over obstacles was more challenging

Ive got a trx250x and i ride with a polaris ranger 900 xp eps and i go everywhere he does as far as mud and obstacles but i bottom out course ive got 5 gears so like 123 is low and 45 would be high

+Louis Garrett Thankfully (so far) we have never gotten a flat tire. We do carry a tire repair kit and a little 12v compressor but hopefully will never have to use them! Thanks for watching.

79Donnac They work fantastic! They have a few different models. We were ambassadors for SENA so got to test their product. I think their website has all the different models and prices.

I cringe at all the mud I don't know if I could put mine it that! By the way I have a 06 400 Big Bear and a 06 450 Kodiak SE. No problems either from either one. I also have 3 Honda's my daughters abd twin boys. But I'm a Yamaha man all the way. jimbo
