Thanks for your help. More questions if you dont mind ;) How did you wire the front signals? I know you said you used some kind of switch box to make the rear signal/break lights work, but were the fronts just plug n play?
Lol i was thinking it when you said it, our projects arnt really ever finished........ ive just jot my shadow so im at the stage of starting to tear diwn any un needed crap...... hey I really like your FRT LEDset up. They look sick....... nuce to see someone doing their own paint...... practice practice practice. I actually assumed it was wrapped........ so that's a huge good comment..... ive subscribed so I can see more....
looks bad serious man, great modifications. I just bought a 2013 Honda shadow phantom 750 but mines all stock no add ons I really enjoy it. I just moved up from the shadow 600 vlx from '07, my first bike but u made that thing look sweet, great work man
key words here,my bike and it looks good to me.I.M.H.O. I think you did a great job,you didn't go crazy with add ons, sometimes simple is better.love the subtle use of flet black.thanks for the info.i'm sure at some point some idiot will point out that its not a Harley.i own 2 of them and I will be the first to tell you that owning 1 doesn't make me a "biker".ride what you can as much as you can with as many friends as you can.peace and grease.god bless.
Looks good. Another thing you could consider doing, which is what I did to my VT750 when I spray painted it is do what you did with the krylon paint, but then put a few light coats of the flat black bumper spray paint. The bumper paint gives off a brighter, darker flat black and the water really beads up nicely. I think it just looks a lot nicer than just the regular flat black.
Hey man! I'm sure I'm not the only guy to say this but you should put a resistor in your blinker circuit so that your blinkers won't flash as fast. Anyway, great lookin' bike! Nice job!
you need white walls, Different turn signals, pipes, grips, Headlight. It looks good man, you just need to make it look a bit more garage made. Love the seat and the rear fender. good job
I love it! You did a lot of things that I also did to my 1100 Sabre. I used LEDs all over. Not the same as yours but same concept. I did them on the back under my seat. Love the drag bars too. The mat black really looks hot on that bike. If you want to check mine out it is here: My Finished Chopper - 50 Degree Rake
Brother let me start by saying you did an amazing job painting your bike I would have assumed you had the stock Matt finish paint job because it truly looks that good. I can't guess how much money you saved.
Awesome man! Random question...the rear blinkers seem to be on a mount. Did that come with the blinkers or with the first bullet blinkers you mentioned?
Very nice. I've been looking for something that would be a good replacement for the "lollipop" front turn signals. I'm going to steal your idea bro. :-) It looks great. Nice job.
Nice bike. You just gave me a new plan for lights. Wondering ...did the cutting out of the resonator from the exhaust need you to do re-jetting of the carbs?
Dude... AMAZING idea using the ugly sawed off frame as turn signals.. Really looks great. I've been pouring over a nice V-Twin bike to do a bobber with (This or a 600 with the Mono Shock). I'm pretty sure this is it. It sure looks a lot more comfortable to ride than the modded hard tails.
Very impressive video i like how you added where you got most of your parts i own a 96 650 4 speed i picked up for 600 and a shotgun spent 200 on carbs and higher rear sprocket dont have quite the takeoff i need but im 6 foot 2 280 lbs still very impressed as it was my learners bike thanks for the video check out houston retro bobbers he specialises in turning shadows into bobbers and builds really nice coustom exaust
how did you make the turn signals blink from low light to high light and the break light too and by the way great video love the bike and the paint work !!! let me know please thanks !!!!
That Shadow is Bad Ass! You should be very proud of what you have done to it. I am just about to start my Shadow project and Your is so nice I am going to take your bike as an example! Very nice job! Who sez you have to own a Harly? They are over priced and Parts are outrageous same goes for indian, Thanks Robert D.
I really like your bike. Great job. I like your "minimalist aporoach. One question, I am just dreaming of a bobber perhaps in a few years. I like the bobber style because my impression is that the seat is lower and with being lower to the ground, maybe it's easier to manoeuver? So I am just under 6 feet tall. I love the handlebar style you chose. Are you as tall as me? And if so, if your seat/handlebar configuration confortable ?
Dude,,,,,,that bike looks GOOOOD!!! Just got a 2012 from a family member. Plan on keeping the factory paint(Sunburst Orange(?)with flames). Having trouble finding a "fat tire kit" for a shaft drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Nice Bobber, and a really well done video! cruisercustomizing - for parts? The paint came out nice - but I think that Krylon is an acrylic enamel? If it is, this may be an issue as time wears on - especially on your tank - as enamels (and lacquers) hate solvents like gasoline - so you may eventually get some staining. If you have issues - for really hard wearing finishes, acrylic urethane is best - and is the current standard for automotive finishes. I do like the use of LED's.. Nice Bike!
If it helps. Lacquers are solids and solvents, they dry through evaporation of solvent they're softest. Enamels react with oxygen, which creates a harder finish. Neither are solvent-proof and most automotive paints like duplicolor rustoleum krylon - most anything in a can - are either lacquers or enamels. A-Urethane - you have to mix with a hardener and it's best to clear over it. You can buy AU in cans which you need to agitate - to mix the hardener with the base, though colors will be limited.
T9, great looking bike. I have a 2000 Honda shadow 600vlx, that I'm making a bobber. Where and what is the switch box that makes the turn signals work. I need your help.
Love the bike. I have a similar bike. I have a hid kit for my bike but it wont turn on when plugged to the stock harness. How did u wire your lights to get them to turn on? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
nice work - love the minimalist styling for the indicators - especially the rear brake / indicator combo - would love to do that on my 600 VLX Bobber here in NZ - can you remember what was the name of that box or who did it?
First off. awesome intro, second I feel you. I hate the lollipop turn signals. I love the drag bars but how does that affect the handling? and Sweet bike. love it
Bike looks real; good T9. Did you have to swap your cables (throttle, brake etc) when you went to the drag bar? The bar has got to go on my A.C.E and I'm thinking a drag or Zed bar
If you do have issues with your paint - google "colorrite" they can provide acrylic urethane in quarts - touch-up pens etc. - even spray cans - and you can even match your bikes color through their website using model and year.. Their paint is a little (okay-just plain) "expensive" (but), it is bike matched AU paint which is the best for automotive use - especially gas-tanks. AU sets up rock-hard - and won't dry out and fade in the sun like lacquer and enamels, as it is also UV resistant.
Can you please send an up close picture of the rear light bracket? I am trying to fabricate one and not sure how you ran your Oznium light wires, since the lights are adhesive backed did you drill holes or run them over the bracket?
Could u give me a link where I could get the rear turn signals I've been looking all over the place and this is exactly what I've been looking for, also would like info on the box u talked about to make them work..
