Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and most of all, welcome to another VFR video!
In this video I will be demonstrating how I will be fitting a set of HEL Performance Stainless Steel Braided brake lines/hoses to my 2003 Honda VFR800 VTEC.

I have already got the bodywork removed to make access easier for the installation, if you haven't yet seen my video on the bodywork removal then you can watch that at the link below.

This is an incredibly involved process as there are a lot of brake lines on this bike due to it having ABS and CBS systems,
I will say that I will not be doing the brake bleeding process in this video as I have already done that, link below.

Excellent job. It would be worth taking lots of pics of the old brake lines before you removed them to be sure to get the new braided lines routed exactly the same.

Great video, thank you Kev. I did mine and was a voyage of discovery as to what went where. This will save lots of people a world of pain. One thing possibly worth thinking about...This is the one chance to separate the caliper from the secondary master cylinder on the front left side and check the condition of the slider pins and little rubber boots. One line normally prevents this from being checked, cleaned, lubrication and replacement if required. I have a late model vfr now. Brakes are no where nearly as powerful. They should have stayed with the linked lovely gold Nissins.

Was looking at this kit for my 2003 non-ABS model, this sure will make it alot easier to do! Thanks for taking the time and effort to do such a good video on it! Sure will help me out when i order my kit and go on the journey to installing it! :D

Brings back memories of swapping my lines last year. I overhauled the calipers all round and the secondary master as well. I didn't remove the tank or top fairing and screen tho and I can see how much of a help it would have been. The only issue I had was getting to the block behind the rear shock as there wasn't enough room to get a normal socket to it. Great video mate

Great video, Kev! I just did this job today and I'm very glad I don't have an ABS model! Only 7 lines to replace but the rear lines were a right pain! Underneath the subframe is not meant for large hands!

Need to watch this. It’s time to replace the OEM lines. Galfer makes a kit, but maybe this video suggests a better option.

Keen to hear how much difference it makes to the bike, have braided lines on some of mine and they are great, but the VFR has pretty decent brakes as is.

Hi Kev..cheers for the video,I've just done the same job on a 98' VFR went to bleed top left first off and found its pulling fluid from the rear m/cylinder..??stumped before I started??😕

Should do, this is an ABS model kit which every bike 2006 onwards should be.

Amazing! 👌🏻😎 well worth the cost in my opinion! Combining these hoses with the Double-H sintered pads has transformed the braking system!
