A channel dedicated to the best in shed tinkering! Here we have a go at all the little mechanical jobs that you can do in the comfort of your own garage, workshop or shed. Why pay someone to do it for you when perhaps you could manage it on your own. Sit back relax and let me get my hands dirty.

Kev! Really great videos in this Picanto series. You are very informative, practical and obviously passionate about what you do. You have saved me hundreds with your concise video explanations 👍👏
Tried your procedure to clear code still continues to blink 9 short blinks which according to the chart is the iat sensor . Where is the iat sensor on my 2004 vfr800. No one can tell me thanks. By the way my bike runs just fine it’s just annoying to have that fi light blinking. Thanks for your help
If Your intention is - to show us something specific on the carbs - hold the damn thing still and use a pointer to tell us where You are on the carb. And, film against a WHITE WALL WITH GOOD LIGHT!
It is possible WITHOUT takng the whole intake of or the whole bumper unit..... challenging.... but with good tools and some effort.... it is possible....!!!
Great video. Mine issue for my E66 was the TCU and bought a used one on Ebay and put it in according to this demo and Bluetooth and all are working great again. Thanks!
On the 1997 Sprint I just bought the rear disk is only 3.5 mm "thick" 😅- the previous owner was more a car guy. Time to replace it or something real wrong will happen. Thanks for those videos, very helpful.
Hi i know this is an old post , could you tell me where you got electrical parts for your loom for regulator rectifier please. Mine has failed and dont want to use standard items. Mine in gen5 vfr thanks. Great video
Thanks man, very useful upgrade. Only thing that if I may say is that You never leave RED wire without additional protective tubing thru the chassis and close to the engine....,many places where there can be chafing issues with that wire and that is important wire :) . Never the less...great job!..Bravo!
Thanks Kev. Just bought my Triumph 885 Daytona and all the work will be my own so thanks for the nice clear and simple advice. Cheers mate. Safe riding.
please show a video of how you far you turned back the eccentric hub to tension the chain, Im having trouble getting the hub and brake carrier stay to stop dropping when I'm tensioning chain, and the correct position of the hub does the pinch bolt have to be in and tightened slightly to hold hub in one spot then tighten chain any help appreciated thanks
hey i just replaced by R/R the old one was over charging the battery and boiled the battery and it also killed my head lights i have the new R/R on but now the bike cranks but doesn't start also befor the R/R showed up the new battery was on and the bike would turn on with the old R/R
Hi did everything you did but my 98 SRAD 750 is overheating on me the fan comes on when the temperature hit 225 I changed the thermostat and it’s still overheating any idea thank you in advance
Hello and thanks for the video! I just started to look into this scooter in the 50 cc level as I do not have a motorcycle license. I called a moped mechanic and he thought that if I wanted to tune the Django 50 cc one needed computer software to be able to fine tune things right? is this correct? is Django 50 cc by injection or by a carburettor? sorry for my English, I am Swedish... Does the Django moped have an EFI system, I think this is what the mechanic was refering to? that the fuel mapping and injection timing might need to be adjusted using Peugeot’s diagnostic software. and maybe also their Electronic Diagnostics: To ensure all sensors and electronic components are functioning correctly after mechanical modifications, diagnostics software might be required? The got something called the Peugeot Planet System (PPS) or Peugeot Diagnostic Software. For professional use, mechanics typically need access to this or similar official software to perform in-depth electronic diagnostics and adjustments. But honestly, have they put this into the Django no matter if it is 50 cc or 150 cc? does anyone know if this is really the case, that Peugeot Django needs an EFI system or an advanced CDI unit that allows electronic adjustments? I find it hard to find the correct information about the Peugeot Django... And if the tuning of a Peugeot Django 50 cc moped is complicated to tune? I was thinking that most of the modifications such as changing the exhaust, carburetor, air filter, variator, and CDI unit are mechanical and do not typically require access to computer software? However, I have heard that some modern scooters and mopeds do have electronic components that can be adjusted or optimized using specific software, particularly if they have an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system or advanced electronic ignition systems. Can someone please help me out and see what one needs to do this right and if the software is easy to download on any computer like a Macbook if needed or what must one do? I was thinking of: Upgrade the Exhaust System Adjust or Upgrade the Carburetor Install a High-Performance Air Filter Change the Variator and Rollers Install a Performance CDI Optimize the Engine Timing and Compression But if a computer software is really needed I do not know how to find that and a mechanic that got it and know how to use it? please advice me what can be done and not and how one should do this right! thanks, Chris
I love your method of explanation, although people will not appreciate it until they start wiring it up, it doesn't leave them in the dark before they start. 5*****''s.
thank you!!! This is very good explanation. Service manual is mandatory for this operation if You don't have the know-how! I am just preparing my self for this operation as well on mine VFR. Very good braking system but of course, a little bit complicated since there are three independant braking systems on this bike.
Un trabajo excelente y muy bien explicado.me gustan muchos tus vídeos y me ayudan mucho con el mantenimiento de la vfr 800,para mí una maquina casi perfecta.gracias por tu trabajo
Very helpful video Kev, thank you. I was pulling my hair out trying to decipher how to bleed the rear brakes from the Haynes workshop manual! A good point made by @mattlee8247 below too, as my VFR 800 is also a non-ABS model, and I have spent a fair bit of time in the recent past trying to find the right hand side bleed valve, only to discover of course that it doesn't exist on non-ABS braking systems.
At about 52:00. The spring goes that orientation because it's a progressive spring. The loose coils at the bottom make for a softer, more compliant ride over smaller bumps. As the spring loads up over bigger road hazards, the tighter stiffer coils at the top come into play
Correct, it goes that way because the manual says so, however if you put it in the other way the spring would still act exactly the same, it would make no difference to the way it rides!
Hello Kevs, I have honda vfr 800, 2011 but the clutch is very stiff and am not sure how can i adjust it , do u have any advice on that. I would appreciate gettinga response from you.
I found that moving the airbox just slightly gave enough room. I only removed 3 connections at the top right corner,2 vacuum pipes and a plug. Second time I've done this job recently as first time I did the tune up on the old tensioner but didn't last long,a few hundred miles before it was ticking again. New tensioner now fitted.
Thanks Kev, great video! I do have a question about the VTEC lifters. The ones that are out of spec: what exectly do i buy new ? Only the lifter? Cause i found valve lifters B, in sizes 2.93 mm to 3.35 mm (steps of 0.07mm). And re-use the valves, springs and VTEC element inside the lifter ? Thanks, your answer would really help me !
For anyone who comes across this......Bit of wood? What's wrong with the tank support bar that should be in the tail of the bike. (Its my bike I do what I want, I don't need someone telling me what to do) There you go answered it for you.
