Talking about. I flipping switches pushing buttons or none of that I’m sitting there like I mean doesn’t matter what you have whether u have to flip a switch or push a button they both the same in like bruh
Mustaaas shifting is way more fun then having a automatic tranny. Yeah I have a kodiak 700. I use to own a Honda recon which was way more fun then the kodiak
The Honda Foreman has diff lock switch. The Rancher 420 has TraxLoc which means when your in 4WD, just press the hand brake to engage the front TraxLoc
Well, BRP didn't start making ATVs until 98 and they weren't called Can-Am until 2007. So... Yeaaaaaaaah. I love how everyone clings to the "It'll last forever" argument with Honda. The only good thing about Honda is they don't have a CVT and they even managed to somehow make that less than impressive. I've never seen a Honda do anything awesome. Actually, I take that back, it is an awesome sight to see my buddy Bobby waiting on us with that glorious cooler strapped to his machine, waiting to give us a cold beer. See, he carries the beer so it doesn't get all shaken up because his Honda won't go through the stuff everybody else does. Long story short, I don't know if you ski or not, but you'd last forever too if you stayed on the bunny slopes.
Ur too funny u must be from the states some places people depend on there atvs for survival would u trust your can am to get u home from 250 miles in the backcountry with the next year's worth of meat plus gear behind it where there's no roads and nobody to come get u and I don't ski I don't snowboard I ride quads and snowmobiles
That can am didnt lock up either!!! He just gave it more gas and tried to get over it. The guy on honda was kinda just holding it so it wouldn't go over.
it's to simulate mud, wet leafs, or what ever would be slick enough to stop three of your wheels from turning, allowing only one wheel with traction to grab. I don't know what kind of riding you do (Seems kinda wussy) but this is related to conditions you could easily find in the fall or spring time let alone winter with slippery snow everywhere. sometimes one wheel grabbing that one spot is how you make it through or over whatever it is stopping you.
Ryan Johnson can am has a worse locker than honda honda uses steel gears can am uses clutch packs. So you just took the biggest L actually believing this guy
Its all in the driver🤷♂️ i got a 2wd yamaha timberwokf 250s thatll follow and has been thru more than most 4x4 bikes skme people just dont know how to drive also got a 2020 rancher and its just about unstoppable znd will run for years to come🤣🤣
If your in the woods you will have some momentum. I used to have a canam 450 and it needed a whole new top end at 3300 kms, i also did sink it, however the foreman 450 I had before was sunk 3 times and was even upside down in a flooded ditch and it has over 8000 miles on it and it still runs great! Honda for the win all day and everyday. Another thing is that Honda’s are way easier to work on then any canam I have ever seen
it shouldn’t need a top end rebuild that early on unless you ran the engine after sinking it. My outlander 570 had 2600 miles and the motor ran like a clock, my outlander 850 has 800 miles and runs just as good. Definitely something you did wrong with it
My foreman 450s has 15000 miles. Just finally did a top end overhaul. My foreman 500s has 8000 miles. Running strong .I love the old air-cooled engines
The can am wasn’t pulling all 4 tires either. He bumped it over. The Honda wouldve done the same thing. And the foreman 500s have front diff lock so i don’t even know what the point of this video was
When I was a teenager we had 2-wheel drive 3- wheelers, then came 2-wheel drive 4-wheelers. We climbed up everything and hardly ever got stuck! After 34 years experience of operating all kinds of chain and shaft drive machines, if you can't climb it with a 2-wheel drive, you simply don't know how to drive! If you hit a dead stop like this on the trail, just back up and get a few feet run at it, you'll get over it
With the Honda just pull the front brake slightly and from the help of the LS in the diff you start to use the brake force from the slipping wheel to drive the traction wheel, that is what I do with my 2017 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 DCT IRS. Note that it’s not a full locking differential it’s just a trick to overcome a traction difference.
Jacob Rice Quads honda has no power, a long lasting engine and nothing else can am has power and a good engine, if you like the sport you will invest in spending money on something you love
@@maddoxomeara I have owned Honda atc's, and atv's all my life, and I made a stupid move and traded my Honda in on a POS can am. I had nothing but trouble with the "can't am" (engine, drivetrain, cooling system, clutch, you name it I had issues with it) (and I use, but don't abuse my bikes). I went to trade the can't am in on a Honda, and I had a hard time finding a Honda dealer that would take a can't ams in on trade, the salesmen kept telling me "they don't want them". I had to travel a ways to find a Honda dealer that would take it.
honda reliability is far better than can am when it's in the shop the honda will be on the trail and all you have to do is apply a small amount of front brake pressure to the honda and it locks the front diff plus when the visco lock system gets some hours on it the fluid loses its viscosity then your back to 3 wheel drive until you change the diff fluid
I had a 06 350 and it was good at one thing bad piston rings and smoking it also was a POS tap the brake to get the wheel to lock is a joke. Sold it and got a cat 4wheel true lock never looked back and has been very reliable
I'm normally on my 2017 sportsman 450 ho on 28.5 outlaw 2 and when I slid the switch to awd I get awd all time no slipping until I snap the front axels
I would presume the CanAm's front diff works well, however the rear diff's are extremely problematic and are known to break so it would be an advantage to get you home.
Dude, I think can am has some really cool, fast and good sounding machines but would go with a honda, why? Well reliability, price, parts, you name it. Plus....if you look closely the can am had a gap in between the tire and the bar. Yes it got over because it had a small running start, the Honda was all the way up against the bar and the dude leaned on the Honda and it came right off. This should actually show the Honda is better but can am....I guess
THE MUD BOGGER yea I did actually otherwise I wouldn't have said it lol. If pay attention, he eases the Honda up to the bar then gets on the gas, the can am, he hits the gas 2 times causing it to bounce of the bar a little bit before he actually stays on the gas. Even with that the can am barely made it over. But I do agree that they need Lockers in the front
@@markminyard4874 Exactly, great point! I owned Honda's all my life, I thought I would try something different after driving Honda for twenty years. So I bought a 650 Outlander, and boy what a POS it was, it would not pull the hat off your head without the belt squealing, I had I quickly traded the "can't am" in and went back to Honda. What a learning experience that was for me. I had engine problems, drivetrain problems, cooling system problems, clutch issues, you name it I had issues with it, and I don't abuse my bikes.
can am looked the same except it had a tiny bit more lock than the honda so its still pretty much 3wheel drive but hes a can am dealer he has to make them look better
Even tho when he compared the rancher and can am. He rocked the can am back and then drove it forward and caught speed. They didn’t rock the rancher. Honda all the way!!
I own a 2018 can am renegade xmr 1000r. Love it,but you can't take away from honda. If you buy a Forman or Rubicon they have a better on demand front locking diffirential system than can am. And if you are out on a hill climbing rocky terrain you will want to be on a honda, grizzly, arctic cat, or king quad with on demand front locking diffirential over any can am. Believe me I know we climb stuff all of the time. Now when it comes to mud can am and polaris has a good front locking system doing it automatically for you. Love the video by the way
My Honda is 20 years old and never had a problem. I have buried it to the handle bars in mud and still no problem. If you are wondering I put a lift kit on and run 27" ITP Mega Mayhem's. It is a honda foreman 450. Yes the 27's eat alot of power for this machine but the machine keeps pushing them. I love the way can am's look but every single person I know that have them always say....it is always something with this machine just always something. so my question is the always something worth the horse power or your demonstration shown here?
Personally I've only used my rancher on my small farm and riding it to my neighbors house about a mile down the blacktop but I've never had any issues with it. My neighbor on the other hand bought a can am 1000 and it stays in the shop, and he's an older man in his 70's so I know he's not hard on it. He comes and gets my Honda at least once a month or just uses his old mule side by side.
What's the difference? that you throttled the Can-Am harder than you did the Honda? I have a Honda 420 and spend my days winching CAn Ams out of the pits they pretend they can go through.
I call BS on that demo,, A- the Honda's front tire was kept in constant contact with the obstacle and you could see it was trying to crawl over, B- the Can Am was allowed to bounce off and build momentum to go over the obstacle. If he would have let the Honda do the same thing, it would have gotten over not problem.
Gman76 im really glad im not the only one that noticed that. Lets see him re do it with honda bouncing off. And then they can tell me the difference :D
I have this can am in 570 cc and it doesn't have diff lock in front. I have been stuck so many times because of it. That's why torq locker makes so much money.
Damn Honda's are not cheap for what you get. Their plastics wear really fast but the rest of their machines will outlast Cancan and Popo's. I still want something with more power than what Honda has to offer.
This guy is a hell of a sales man. I will only speak of my time on the trail. My group of friends had every atv brand under the sun. My buddy with his can am was in limp mode 70% of the time. He ended up going to yamaha. His can am was impressive when it ran, but he went back to camp way more than the rest of us. Our back to camp trips was flat tires, or something stupid like loose exhaust. His was limp mode due to some sensor that was freaking out. For me in my experience I don't trust can am to be there for me when I need it.
The Honda rancher 420 is better than the POS can am because it last longer and the can am has diff locks to where the rancher does not. PS. If you put a little bit of pressure on the front brake of the rancher the diff locks start to come in and will beat the shhh out of the can am
Yeah, when your on Can am #10 ($100,000 later) you'll finally need to work on that old ($3,800) Honda that's been to hell and back twice and passed all those dead remains of the previous 9 Can't am's many many times over.....lol, if you want to spend enough money to buy a house on 4- wheeler's go ahead and get the Can't am or a Paralysis....I mean Polaris
Only a true Honda owner understands the power of a little pressure on the front break. :) I’ll put my honda thru anything! And won’t have to replace my belt / diff / axle.
What type of problem do you have with the person rocking the machine? By rocking the machine, it helps with traction. I watch a lot of ATV videos, and I see nearly everybody rock the machine in some form.
The first guy didnt rock it thats the problem just like a mahindra promo they dont show the blaast on the mahindra but show the back if all the other tractors
Noah Roy I love on demand front locking diffirential systems like king quad, grizzly, arctic cat mudpro, and honda Rubicon. I have owned them and still have the mudpro. I also own a 2018 renegade xmr 1000r with a quick engagement visco lok in the front. When mudding with stock 30" cryptids it engages quickly and works great. And with the power you can get through way more. Now if I was climbing, I would have to have a on demand system
I have a Honda 4 wheel drive Foreman my hunting partner has a Can-Am 4 wheel drive and I go lots of places his four wheeler will not go so where's the proof in that
Why didn't you show the honda 450 against the can am 450 because the Honda 450 and 500 have lockers and can am doesn't they have a visco lock that doesn't work half the time
Oh this is sum bull shit if your going to compare a Can am to a Honda why don’t you explain the price differences and reliability. Also the Honda Rancher does in fact have a locking diff just tap the brake and the Honda would’ve made it over that just as quick as the Can am would. I personally do not have a problem with Can ams, I love them, but when you are buying a Can am you are really just paying for the name.
I agree with one of the other comments--check on those Canned Hams in about 10 years and see how many of them are still going over anything. I have an 04 Foreman with nearly 8000 miles on it and its still running. It's been through absolute hell. I'll just winch over the log if I need to.
Hold the front brake a little and you’ll find a secret diff lock on that 420, still will choose Honda over a can am I don’t wanna replace a belt anytime I try and have fun
You damn well know he was not accelerating enough when he was on the Honda. You can see the tire about to jump over “the log”... both are good brands I would seriously consider both not just Honda and this is coming from a guy that was given his first ATV at 12 years old and it was a Honda recon. But sometimes demonstrators can be “funny”
I love Hondas reliability. But my front locker on my can am 450 works amazing. Pulls me out of holes all the time. It’s been reliable for me honestly, and I’m hard on it pushing 3000 miles. But the whole belt situation depends on the rider, if you put in low goin up hills or in high as long as you keep moving at a good speed your belt should last a long time. No hate just my opion
It’s called positive traction the rancher didn’t the foreman does have differential but mostly depends if you want a can am for a month or a Honda for 20-25 years
notice he press and stop on the accelerator to gain a little momentum on the can am and the honda he just presss the accelerator. also the honda was about 1-2 closer to the block
Okay but I’ve had my Honda rancher for 4 years and yes it’s four wheel drive it just has limited slip you hit the gas harder on that can am to go over the bump you know how much shit I’ve ran over with my Honda rancher in 2wd alone it’s crazy
my 1999 honda recon (329 cc's) can literally ram through trees while its loosing traction in mud... and may i remind you that it is rwd... and it wont burn belts or snap axels like theres no tomorrow
Front wheel wasn't spinning on the can-am either you just bumped the log and rolled over it. Cool biased video bud, I'll stick take the honda over the can-am
@@Nick-qj4su They are belts, that's, in fact, the second reason honda is better. also apparently on that new rancher, you just press the front brake a little to activate diff-lock.
No it's 4wd with a open front diff but he didn't mention can am rear diff problems or that the Honda will be running years later after the can am is in the junk pile or how can am visco-lok gives out after while.
I was gonna say the same. That little roll backwards helped it out. The Honda was pressed against the obstacle the whole time with now roll back at all
Up Life older Polaris's with the original "on-demand" systems were way better. They were technically time 4x4 with electric lock hubs. I have a 2000 scrambler 400 4x4 that I raced gncc with in 4x4 lite. Can am are good machines, but with the torque curve being so bottom aggressive and their heavy weight they bury themselves at the blip in ga red clay.
O problema é o custo muito mais elevado de manutenção da can nan em relação ao Honda. É muito mais custo para um pouco a mais de performance. Sem contar que o can nan, ainda quebra mais.
