A tuner should be your first purchase if possible for any car you want to increase performance. Now that Cold Air Intake advertising "15hp gain" can be a reality
Cool review man. The larger exhaust also changes tone makes it lower, plus you get pops between shifts and lift off crackle. I have an 08 si sedan with full 3 inch it sounds like a beast on cold starts.
If you're not boosting 2.5 is fine 3 is overkill on a NA engine they can only breathe so much... nice review you may have helped hondata sell another one
I just don't want my car to be crazy loud, ya know? I'm most likely going to stick with my yonaka, but I have another in mind if I ever need to upgrade 👌🏼
Still Available maybe for the 8th gen. But for the 9th gen a 3" dp and catback exhaust allow for better manifold scavenging as well as increased hp gains throughout the entire powerband when paired with a solid tune. I would think with the 8th gens slightly lower displacement a 2.5" woukdnt make as much of a difference, but it certainly does with the 9ths.
i just have a full race catback and i was about 2-3 car lengths behind my friends 2018 wrx. once i got the hondata it made it a dead even race from a 20mph roll. I didnt know you could adjust the launch control with the steering wheel
Definitely bro! Thanks for the mention! I never knew your fans wanted to know the difference btwn my car and urs. That's awesome and I think even with ur 2.5 inch, you still have a p2r tb and I don't, so your intake or AF ratio is definitely slightly different. I wont say its much different tho, probably 2-7hp difference between mine and urs.
So I just got a 2006 civic si and its bone stock with like 180,000 miles. Should I do the handata or just get a shop to tune it and leave it at that? I dont need crazy power I just want to spice it up a little if I need it. My other vehicle is a Silverado on 33s lol so clearly the civic is already fast. Not that my Chevy dont get on it. Lol
@@TheGerbsteve I live my Silverado it's on a leveling kit with 33s. I use it for work but it only gets like 13 miles to the gallon lol that's where the civic comes in. 🤣 but I will say I love having a truck and it never gets old driving it. Had it for 3 years and love it more and more every day.
It will increase performance and a bit of power. Reliability and efficiency will stay the same with a proper tune. Basemaps are okay, but very inconsistent and may lead to issues
I've watched a few videos of yours and I definitely like them, watching this one though I recognized the buildings in the background, you drove through the town I live in 😅 subscribed for that for sure
Great video dude, I have the type r fn2, just about to order tegiwa exhast and tegiwa air box, with the flaspro, would hopefully give me a extra 20 hp, which isn’t a lot, but hopefully transform the car from standard form 👍
Will this work on my Honda Civic FD2, am in Australia and and am not sure if Hondata would work on it, the civic FD2 has the same configuration, eg) steering wheel, interior, engine.... so if it will work I’ll buy it(also video of civic availabile on my channel
How much did you friend make because a 3” exhaust doesn’t make too much of a difference it’s more for a Boosted application with the right header (usually all the “off the shelf” brand) make around 210-220ish whp your 2.5 is fine....imo a 3” on bolt on Si is just noise 🤷🏾♂️
We never actually had legit numbers, but it pulls really strong. Torque feels amazing as well. I'm most likely going to stick with a 2.5" catback because of noise purposes.
I have a question. I just got my Flashpro. If I disconnect the battery do I need to unplug the Flashpro? And when it’s time to put it back do I need to program it again?
I know this might be a cringe question but, my car is a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid, it’s my first car and I was wondering if this product would tune it or if it’s even tunable at all? Automatic sadly .
Gerb when it get warmer I'm going to finish up my 9th gen build so we can meet up. I'm from Bronx nyc but I be Ct a lot mostly in the new haven Hartford area
Hi gerb i have question do you have air fuel ratio or wideband gauge? I bought a hondata it came today i tried to put a basemap i have ebay header and ebay muffler 2.25 and catback 4 inch have and ebay cold air intake with protector so which map do you recommend me because my air fuel ratio always be in 14.7 to 15.6 no more than that and 8000 rpm 14.5 something like that help me
Gerb keep making videos i have an ep3 but alot of the mods in your process of building your car are actually mods i am looking forward to be doing on my car so its cool watching you go through and explain and install them. Plua your funny as fuck i feel like i know you from just what i see in your videos i think we would be good friends anyway i just wanted to share some positivity and i hope that you keep making videos keep midnight rippin and stay safe✌
If you can get it $100 cheaper than retail and it’s for sure unlocked, it’s good. Do not buy it if you don’t see that it is unlocked or you will be out of luck and can’t use it at all because it only locks to one ecu.
Bro when you plan to get a custom tune go with Vit or with Dardan from San Diego he's a reputable guy here. I'll be getting mine tuned in a few weeks after I install my full race cat back.
What if i want to keep my car mostly stock, is it worth it then? I use to have a wrx and the cobb would have like fuel efficient maps and performance maps
Yeah man, even with a minor vtec adjustment down low. Hondata drastically improves throttle and engine performance. For any si owner, I’d recommend a nice intake, header, hondata with a tune. You can get them tuned for mpgs
If you go on to Hondata's website, you can see your car, make, model and it should state which flashpro is for your vehicle and how much it cost. Hope this helps.
Josh Aden you’re probably right about SRS lights, but seat belts and such, they’re free fixes. And Gerb yours is probably covered under the recall that they have out for the airbag
what up bro I want to ask you the following on ebay look at a flash pro for fg2 for 250 dlls approx used and it says that it is unlocked I want to know if it is advisable to buy one like that or you have to buy new
Idk about that... I don't think I've ever seen anyone let go of Flashpro for under $400. If you want my personal opinion, I would not buy it. Nothing beats a new flashpro where nothing has been touched, etc. But your money, your decision.
Gerb Productions oh so if I have a turbo or supercharge then it’s gonna enhance it? And I see what you mean. It’s going to allow VTEC to kick in at a lower rev right?
Hey good shit bro. If and when you get a custom tune who do you plan on going with. I had vit tune my car and the skunk 2 map is ass compared to vits etune. Prior to the etune i had a local shop in nh tune my car and that wasnt even great. I wanted to go with yosolo at first but ended up just doing the etune with vit instead and dont regret it one bit.I posted a vid of a 1-5 pull on my channel if you wanna check it out just for comparison. Im in ma if you ever wanna meet up someday to.
Gerb Productions na dude i get that i felt the same way but with all the good reviews on his etune thats why i went with him and it actually didnt take long. it took just about a month. Im pumped to see who you go with.
If you want my honest opinion, the only basemap I like is the skunk 2 MAP race calibration. All the other ones I tried are trash. Need to get her to the dyno asap.
Thanks for your informative video. Very helpful. Do i need to get it dyno tune and have the hondata installed? they charge $525 to do the dyno tune and flash. My mods are intake, header/downpipe and exhaust system. Thank you
Not worth 700. I’d rather spend 500 on a short shifter. What is a good chance you’ll need the upgraded cables which is another 500 so at that point that’s not even worth it
What do you think this would do to a stock 1.8 2012? I know it wont be fast but its funny when guys think theyre gonna spank it but cant... Itll be even more funny if my lx could gap them 😆
Hey man, there is only one way to find out lol. But seriously, lx have no vtec if I’m correct. So trying to tune it would be possible, just not sure on the power you would be able to get.
Thanks for your review video of the Hondata FlashPro. I'm anxious to get mine now for my 8th Gen. I would like to invite you to my channel so you can check out a video of my FG2
This dude is why people dont like honda drivers. Yes moving vtec to engage earlier is good if you have supporting mods, but the difference between 2.5 in and 3 in is minimal when talking about the pressure these engines are putting through the exaust. A 6 cyl, maybe, 8 and up, definatly. But a 4cyl? Nawww. Even boosted youd have to be running at least 20lbs before you see a difference in back pressure.
@@TheGerbsteve id rather help people not waste money on their cars actually. This comment wasnt for you, it was for other people who watched the vid. Im a mechanic btw
