Hey! Been watching a few of your reviews and love the analytical, honest reviews! I watched your reviews of Versed Dew Point and Rovectin Clean Lotus water cream, but in both of those you seemed to like them, but still chose this one (honest beauty hydrogel cream) as your #1 so I searched for your review on it and was surprised that you didn't seem to like it as much in this video. Did you have a change of heart since this video? (apologies if I missed an updated review of it). Thanks! ☺

Hi! Thank You for this question. This was the very first gel/water cream I reviewed and I only had tatcha's $68+ water cream to compare it to. After 1 year+ of reviewing water creams in this price range/with quality ingredients. I use this product and LOVE it. You have to apply it a certain way tho. It's very thick on application, BUT you HAVE to RUB IT IN. Like really work it into the skin and it seriously loses all viscosity and turns to straight water. I find it works best when you rub it between your fingers first, and THEN go to the face, so you don't have to rub so much. It is sooooo hydrating and makes my skin feel so cool and dewy. Seriously try it again

Hi Brittney- thanks so much for your comment. Perhaps I should do my updated thoughts a couple months into using the product. Because I now echo your opinion, and actually really like the consistency. You’re right you have to rub it in and it is thick on application, but does lose its viscosity. It’s funny how change can come when you learn how to use a product a couple months in. I hope you consider subscribing 😊

I agree at first I was like oh this is thick but then it just turned to nothing like water after rubbing it in for a bit, strange.

Thank you for the video! Don’t give up on finding a cheaper alternative. $68 for a moisturizer is so much! I would recommend trying Neutrogena hydro boost gel or their gel cream. I prefer the gel cream because it is fragrance free (I prefer that in my skincare because of sensitivity) but I would assume the gel has the lighter texture you are looking for.

I have combination skin and I found that if I leave my skin a little damp when applying this it works a lot better and you do get the watery light feel. I think it needs a little water for the ingredients to do their job.

I've been using this for about 2 weeks, I'm also using some strong retinol and tend to have dryer/normal skin. So far I'm definitely a fan, I haven't noticed it being particularly tacky for me. Never used Tatcha though, I think I'll be happier with cheaper products if I don't know what I'm missing 😅

I love this cream it is so plumping and moist. I layer over paulas choice glycolic serum and my skin is soooo glowy and I get compliments all the time 😋I’m sorry it wasn’t your favorite though ,‘I know how that because I’ve tried sooo many products others seem to love and they weren’t the best for me!

I felt it a bit tacky at first as well but I realized I wasn’t using enough product. Once I used a bit more product, I found that release of moisture. The con to that is I’m going through it pretty fast.

Would you recommend this for combination to dry acne prone skin. I've been using my cerave moisturizing cream but it isn't a great night cream. I need something that is a bit more moisturizing for night time. Please let me know!

As far as I can tell there is no fragrance. But the packaging doesn’t say. Sorry I couldn’t give a clear answer.

You should have spritzed rose water on your skin before applying. The cream applied more evenly and watery to wet skin. Also get disposable skincare spatulas, it’s bums me out when people stick their fingers into water based products, but I appreciate that I saw you take it off the lid at least.
