Honeymoon Suite won a radio station contest in Toronto to earn a recording contract with an early version of this song. The opening line of this song was originally "Cold Winter's Night" but was changed to "Hot Sumner Night" for a late spring release. They had several really great albums in the early to mid 80s. Still gets regular airplay on Toronto classic rock stations. Thanks for the great Canadian content, Jamel!

These guys had a few top 40 Billboard hits and atleast 10 big hits in Canada. They put on a good show. April Wine, Northern Pikes , Grapes of Wrath, Tragically Hip, Streetheart, Harlequin, Prism and Sloan are a few underrated Canadian bands you should react too. "Romantic Traffic" by the Spoons is a song I think you'd like. You'll find yourself singing along to this tune, it's pretty catchy.

The line is "and she's a lot like you", and I always interpreted it as meaning that after he got to know the new girlfriend, she ended up having the same bad attitude and behaviors as the old one. I remember my parents having a phone mounted IN the wall with a 20 foot coiled cord between it and the handset. And everyone would plow thru everybody else trying to answer the phone before the 2nd ring. Now, you HAVE to look at the caller ID before deciding if you even want to answer!

One story that always brings a chuckle to people from my home town: Aylmer, population of about 5,000, has a fair every year. One year Honeymoon Suite was hired to play. Maybe 2 weeks prior to the day of that concert, they got a big record contract and "New Girl Now" was getting a lot of radio play. And, man, they did NOT want to come to a town of 5,000 to play at their little fair. But they were contractually obligated. So here was this band that had made it big stuck playing at a dinky local fair. Probably their biggest claim to fame was doing the theme song for Lethal Weapon. They seemed to largely fade away after that. Probably have been living off the royalties from the movie soundtrack. Back in the day I kind of liked them, particularly the song "Burning in Love".

Honeymoon Suite were the first famous people I met. I was probably about 13 when they were touring with across Canada with Platinum Blonde. They even preformed the title track for the first Lethal Weapon movie

I saw Honeymoon Suite live when this video was one of the top hits. If you like 80s music, you'd really enjoy the 80s Cruise. We've gone 5 times and are booked for next year. The one that sails out of Florida. A 7-day party. 😊

Jam: The '80s was NOT on "the borderline" of "cheesy" and "great" ...it, just, successfully, featured BOTH! ...Always something for you to hate. Always something for you to LOVE. They were GREAT times. 🤘🤘💜💜💜💜🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 😁😁😁 👍

One of my all time favorite songs from one of my all time favorite bands! It's a small club, but a quality club ❤❤. This was the very first cassette I played in the awesome stereo of my 1981 turbo Trans am as I drove it off the lot (it was 3 years old when I got it, but it was new to me 🤗). Damn, time flies...lol.

Great song from 1985. They had a more moderate hit from their debut album with "Burning In Love." You would like that one, too. On their second album, in 1986, they had another moderate hit with "Feel It Again."

Jamel, you summed it up perfectly. Some humans keep attracting the same person in a different body.

More great Canadian music! I worked backstage security for them once in the 90's, they took me out for dinner with them. Cool guys. Keep up the great work! Peace
