Due to the comments I should state: the expensive suite is not my room. I was simply curious as to what it looks like and wanted to share. It isn’t for me and I will probably never see it again. As for the Staycation, here in Hong Kong the hotels are trying to get creative and create more affordable packages for locals to stay since there has been no tourism for a while. This allows them to pay their staff and stay open. It has been working well because doing a staycation is quite popular here now amongst all different age groups and income levels. some people wish to see what the experience is like before they purchase it. I know it isn’t for everyone but some people wish to invest in experiences and memories instead of tangible products and since we can’t travel right now, but we have had no local covid cases for a while, this is a good option. If I payed money to travel and stay in a hotel and do things around another country no one would have a problem with it. I’m being safe in my city and enjoying an experience with my family.
I know the negative comments might seem to carry more weight than the positive ones but just know that 99% of the people that watched this video loved it and appreciated it for what it was 💕 we love you taylor, take care!
I enjoy seeing what is "out there" even if it is beyond my means. I was impressed with so much, but especially how dogs are welcomed. I hope that before they finish that top floor reno they have added soundproofing. That construction was LOUD. One can only imagine what noise could be created by a party. Loved seeing those dresses, they were beautifully made. My perfect vacation would involve sleeping late in a king-sized bed with multiple comfy comforters with my favorite perk being as much acupuncture as I wished (at nominal charge).
ALSO: This is the whole point of RU-vid channels like Taylor's: To provide a little window into what life is like for people living in different places and different circumstances around the world, including both the quotidian (like Tokidoki Traveler's super-tiny apartment) and the super-fancy (like Casey Neistat flying in that super-first-class plane). I have, and probably will again sometime, had a few 'super luxury' experiences in my life, but the chances of me ever having an all-expenses-paid weekend in the Mandarin Oriental HK are pretty slim, so why not do it vicariously through Taylor?
@@JSnuffleupagus How is this flaunting? She's showing us the suite the hotel allowed her to film for just two hours. If this isn't the type of content for your taste, you shouldn't have clicked in the first place. And Taylor has never been an activist; not everyone with a bit of online presence has to be an activist trying to push moral values on viewers.
Thank you for sharing this experience with us!I am always so excited to see the creators I love gifted these incredible experiences. You have done so much for me as a viewer by providing such fun and engaging content throughout the years (which I can view for free!) And the fact that you put so much time and energy into this video and sharing the experience with us in a creative way makes me feel like I am along for the ride too! I enjoyed this video a lot and it was a fun little glimpse into another world. Thank you!
I feel like the people commenting on how its horrible to show off like this, really don't understand how the world works until its shown to them in black and white. This hotel is for the 1%, those who are rich enough to laugh at a $13k hotel room. This was gifted to Taylor because they know she has a following in and around Hong Kong as well as world wide, they are hoping millions of people see this video, this is how advertising works in our current world. You shouldn't bash Taylor because she got to have a nice dinner and stayed at a nice hotel, you should laugh because the most fancy hotel in all of Hong Kong needs her help because the pandemic has stopped people travelling and they are losing money.
@Vincent Vermeer I’m sure she was more laughing at the situation, and the very wealthy owners of the hotel, rather than the employees who could be laid off. Yes, that part is very unfortunate. But a lot of people are very upset with the 1% who control all this wealth while the rest of society struggles to barely get by. It’s no wonder some people are happy to see them losing money, especially the ones who never do a single positive thing for society.
Actually, I am not part of the 1%, but I am good with my money and have dined at 3-star Michelin restaurants many times. You don't have to be wealthy to achieve something like this. I think people get offended because they only see a reason to bark. They see what they think is unattainable and become upset at other people's fortune (not the money kind). As long as people who are wealthy contribute to society with their time, money, and compassion, I don't see anything wrong with this. It's not like she went into politics (like one man having billions that could solve some national problems *cough* Jeff Bezos *cough* ). She legitimately was enjoying herself and doing her job. People really need to relax. They don't know all the good Taylor, wealthy people, or the hotel could possibly be contributing. I just don't get it. People want to see this stuff, but then get upset. It baffles me. She isn't saying poverty doesn't exist or anything. Like, breathe.
@@michelleyanakis8510 You are probably well-meaning and that is great, but I feel like you're missing the point a bit. Stuff like this exists purely because there are people who really really have so much money they don't know what to do with it (not Taylor, who's just doing something akin to an ad, basically). 1) there is a difference between treating yourself to a meal at a 3 Michelin star restaurant and staying at a 13k a night place. 2) for many people, "being good with money" will never ever be enough. They might be working 2 jobs yet barely making ends meet even after they've turned every penny twice. 3) people like you (and Taylor) are not the problem and you shouldn't take comments like that personally. What people are upset about is that this wealth exists because people exist who can afford it; and in most cases they can because they've profited off a system that is very much interested in keeping a large portion of the population poor enough so they will take jobs that pay a salary that is insufficient. There are people whose job pays them 13,000$ a year (or less). And then there's people who profit off their work who'll go around staying in a 13,000$ a night hotel. Again, this is not something directed at Taylor, who, as a model and internet personality, is just getting a free stay in an extravagant (but not 13k a night) hotel room for some promotional work.
AT LEAST SHE REAL AND HONEST and does not stage these like American “celebs” She said it’s not even for her and doing marketing like this is part of her brand which I love her traveling and showing this we otherwise wouldn’t see!
Hello beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile, best wishes to a beautiful woman like you, oh my goodness, you look beautiful, how are you, hope you have a good time
tay is really my favorite creator TT whenever she does this type of videos, you don't feel like she's showing off or something, she genuinely wants us to live the experience as well at least a little
@@JSnuffleupagus If showcasing treating yourself because you can and deserve it is a disgusting way to show wealth disparity, then I better not see you doing anything fancy on your birthday and posting about it, just treat it like a day that's like the other 364 in the year.
@@vgc6943 Chill. I don't think anyone is particularly mad at Taylor here. It's a general annoyance with the fact that this sort of thing exists while a not insignificant group of people struggles to survive.
@@JSnuffleupagus come on, we spend majority of our life working, why not spend some money? Otherwise what's the point? Are we just meant to work to death while sitting silently watching the banking numbers going up and then die in regret? 😂 Enjoy life, some people get lucky, some don't, that's life.
They only let her into the $13000 room for two hours, probably because they couldn't rent it out because the room above it was being renovated. I wonder if they let people come tour/film the room all day in two hour shifts, haha.
that's why it was perfect to do it then so that they could finish before people start booking rooms again... I thought that was obvious. Guess not to some people.
First of all, the cinematography in this video is like something straight off TV! You and your camera person did an awesome job 👏 Secondly I have a silly question. So the tub full of roses, what does one do if they want to take a bath that night? Did you have to drain the tub and scoop out all the petals? Did the hotel do that for you? Why was the water under the petals so blue??
Thank you for this lovely comment, I really appreciate it! For the bath, I called someone bc I was worried about blocking the water drain, I think they scooped them out with a strainer or something first.
Taylor is one person I can watch experiencing these types of things and not feel any jealousy or negativity at all, because I genuinely enjoy seeing her enjoying life and being happy. With some influencers, you can see they are either bragging or showing off, and they aren’t humble or appreciative of what they have or what they’re given, but others, like Taylor, you can tell they appreciate everything and would never brag or show off. It’s so much easier to enjoy videos like this when you can tell the people in the video aren’t trying to throw wealth in your face, and I feel like Taylor would NEVER be that way. She seems so kind and genuine. At least, that’s how I personally feel about it.
Taylor is one of the nicest girls to me in every direct message I’ve sent her on Instagram, she doesn’t deserve any hateful comments. Please be nice to Taylor, she’s really a nice human being. She is by far the most genuine RU-vidr/pretty girl, you guys should support her or at least just don’t hurt her feelings. I’ve been a viewer of her for a long time. She is hardworking and definitely deserve the life she’s got now and this invitation to stay at this luxurious hotel. ❤️
She's beauty, she's grace, she's in a luxurious place! She's...(pageant music) TAYLORRRRRRR R. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!! Lol love the intro, very couture 💃🏼
the Mandarin Suite was waaaaay too much to me personally; like I wouldn't stay there even if I had the money to, but the room you guys stayed at was really cute
If you had hundreds of millions in your bank account and earn millions a month, you would. And yeah, there a hundreds of thousands of people with that kinda money around the world.
So glad to see Tom a bit more , its nice to see the man that makes you happy be more relaxed on camera ! I hope he will keep letting you film him as I love seeing you together
Ok but that intro was EVERYTHING!💖🔥👌🏻 the angles, film quality music, I thought I was about to witness a music video or announcement of a new 50 shades of gray movie.
@@Taylor_R I only know of rent the runway and I've seen some try some pieces from newly they had some higher end options as well but I haven't personally tried that one
When you showed the Gelato Pique pj's and in your IG story you showed the slippers they gave you in collaboration with Tsuki, I got soooo excited, as I'm a huge fan of Pewdiepie and Marzia ❤ And seeing you (a person who I really admire) connected in some way to them, even if it was through a pair of slippers, just made me really, really happy 🥰🙈
Hello beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile, best wishes to a beautiful woman like you, oh my goodness, you look beautiful, how are you, hope you have a good time
Omg when I saw your IG stories I got inspired as well so at the end of the month we are going to Ottawa for a “staycation” I’m so glad you guys had so much fun 😌
Hello beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile, best wishes to a beautiful woman like you, oh my goodness, you look beautiful, how are you, hope you have a good time
Ignore any negative or judgmental comments - those people don’t like themselves very much and have no common decency. If they can’t watch such a well made video and appreciate the time, effort, and talent that went into it, they don’t have any right to be negative. You and your assistant outdid yourselves. This was so well made. After the terrible year we’ve had, everyone needed to go on this vicarious virtual staycation with you. People just don’t get how relaxing it can be to enjoy a spa for a few hours or go on overnight trips and feel indulged by having someone run you a bubble bath. It’s not like everyone splurges all the time. Even celebrities keep it low key most days. There is something about investing a little extra money to feel pampered once in a while that uplifts the spirit in such a way that even your mental and emotional well being improves. Even if it’s once a year or once every few years, we all need to indulge in something that makes us as happy as Taylor in this video. To think this was all gifted cuz she built her channel up so much that they decided to use her fan base to get the word out about staycations. I think it’s a great idea to get people to stay even for a day or two if it means the staff gets to keep their jobs cuz they’re great at it. I was more impressed by the view she had while in the tub than how they decorated that bathroom. Plus all those JM bath products were pretty nice too. Hope she got to keep them. ^^ By the way, those strawberry slippers were the cutest ones ever. So glad Rosie got to enjoy everything with you. Thanks for sharing your experience with us ^^
You are so adorable! I just love how excited you got about the suite. So many people would act snobby, but you were so cute walking through it. You are so relatable and beautiful. That is why I have followed you for a long time. I also loved the room you and Tom stayed in. The intro was absolutely over the top and you should get some kind of award for that. ♥️
0:00 to 0:42 is such a mood. I need to plan my own staycation here too since the borders are still closed. What a great idea to support the local economy and check out hotels in my city and province I never thought I would step foot into. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hello beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile, best wishes to a beautiful woman like you, oh my goodness, you look beautiful, how are you, hope you have a good time
honestly the first 1 min of editing was amazing !! looked like a real commercial for the presidential suit...you are an amazing model to be honest...love the video
Wow Tay, you looked incredible in that grand suite! I wish the hotel would make a professional shoot with you as a model. I would love to see Tay in the Mandarin Oriental- the movie! What I love about the suite is how dignified it feels, the warm colours, the honey woods, the antique art is so luxurious and tasteful. You looked really happy and refreshed after your staycation, it was a good idea to change the environment for a while.
I forgot that most people haven't seen totally absurd hotel suites. I work in hotels and was so confused by comments about people being outraged by the existence of a 13,000 dollar hotel room. But this absolutely made me miss the 5 diamond spots I used to work!! I love how real your reaction was, it's the exact same way I felt touring those sorts of spots 😂
The door on the presidential suite you pointed out is actually designed to be similar to the gates of the Forbidden Palace in Beijing. Fit for royalty!
It’s nice to see videos like this as an aesthetic getaway from one’s own life. The room that you stayed in was really nice for a staycation. The food looked delicious. Your dresses were beautifully crafted. I enjoy videos like this because for someone like me that isn’t able to be there in Hong Kong and enjoy things like that, it’s a guilty pleasure vacation from all the negativity in the world right now. 😊 Thanks for sharing your experience with us Taylor. Everyone watching, stay healthy and safe.
Hello beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile, best wishes to a beautiful woman like you, oh my goodness, you look beautiful, how are you, hope you have a good time
Wow that intro though! Straight out of a fairy tale! Thank you for the lovely vlog and for showing us that atmosphere. I'm such a klutz, I feel awkward even in slightly good environment, I'd be probably too terrified to enjoy the experience like you >
The edddddiiiittting! When would I have been able to see this in my lifetime? Even if you did pay for this. I’m not mad. Why should I be? You’re not laughing at the unemployed during a pandemic and using testing to party like some 🙄. Enjoy your SAFE getaway. You have enough money to travel safely and quarantine and chose not to.
At first I saw that gorgeous dress and very luxe place and editing and thought “OMG, our Tay grew up and big and turning into a main stream youtuber style videos” 🥺 Few minutes later ... “it's a borrowed suite, it's a borrowed dress, sniffs old things, did goofy thing” A sigh of relief.... our Tay Tay is still the same 🥰
i'm sorry but I think the montage of this video specificly makes it too dynamic and I think we can't really see all the details. So I basically had to pause every second... this is my opinion of course, but I think I had to say it, anyway it looks really beautiful and I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Those Gelatopique strawberry slippers are so cute! Thanks so much for sharing - I just ordered myself the pink version of the slippers (as well as the matching blanket) and am so excited for them to arrive! The dresses were gorgeous too - you looked so pretty in the Needle and Thread dress you wore to dinner ❤️
So.. the 7-room presidential suite is where blaire waldorf would stay if there was an episode where she has to rescue chuck bass from one of his benders in hk. 😅
Amazing taylor 💗🕊🐉💗the places u take us are so incredible, if u didn't show us, we would never have known such a dream place...thx...truly a great treat to both u & Tom congrats
