Hong Kong has now closed a public consultation period for a national security law called Article 23 that lawyers and advocates say criminalises basic human rights. But pro-Beijing law makers say the law is necessary to protect Hong Kong. Former Hong Kong legislator Nathan Law now lives in exiles in the UK and tells The World’s Yvonne Yong despite the public consultation “there's no way people can express their opinion freely”.
