I hope this might help owners, i have had a constant battle with Honwave about adapters to use a Bravo electric pump. I have at least 8 supplied by dealers as " these are the ones you need". they are not . I have blown up two pumps as a result. The adapter must have a central bar across the aperture , preferably with adjustable screw. . I got mine from Bravo, although they are available on Ebay. This has caused me such grief and i did not use the boat for 5 years. I later discovered that the Honwave foot pump as supplied does not have the correct adapter either so no wonder i nearly had a heart attack using it . The mechanism is , as you screw the bayonet adapter in, the central bar turns the yellow valve and opens the valve , the pump can then do its work. When the bayonet is turned to remove it ,the valve is unlocked and closes as the adapter is removed.

Just found your channel and liked and subbed. Been thinking about a Honwave T40 for a while now, paired with a 25hp Yamaha because it only weighs 57kg. Apparently it’s the lightest 25hp on the market. I’ve looked into 30hp motors which is the maximum for the T40, but they’re much heavier. I’d be lifting the motor onto the transom by myself. Hence dropping 5hp from maximum for a lighter motor. Good channel so far 😊 All the best Chris

Hi Chris. Cheers for subscribing 👍 Weight is a big issue when using a sib. Fine if your putting it on a trailer and launching from it, but when it comes to using the sib with its own launching wheels it’s a different matter. Even with my t38 and an upgraded 9.9hp to 15hp it’s a struggle to launch sometimes. Recurring back problems just add to the fun 🙄😂 Still they are brilliant and apart from inflating and deflating they are a very versatile craft. All the best too Gary

@@123boat definitely living and launching on a trailer. The outboard will live on a sack barrow and be wheeled to the transom and then lifted onto it. I should be able to manage 57kg twice in one day 😂 Cheers Chris

Hi Bob I have been inspired by your videos and I a planning a trip around the IOW, leaving from lymington cross the Solent towards Yarmouth and travelling anti clockwise. I’m in no rush so plan to camp one night and explore a few of the coastal towns. Can you offer any advise. Cheers neil
@123boat
@123boat 3 года назад
Hi Neil. Glad I’ve given you some inspiration. What sort of craft are you going to be using? The southern side of the IOW can be a risky place to go if the weather conditions change rapidly. Between Freshwater Bay and Niton Underclff it’s about a 12 mile stretch, if you have any problems between these, there is very little chance of beaching safely. Loads of hidden rocks just under the surface. To be sure to get round you need to take a wide berth. Also I’d recommend taking an auxiliary outboard and definitely an anchor with chain and about 30m of rode. It’s certainly not impossible to do and people have done it on sibs like mine but if you’ve little experience then I’d suggest sticking to the Solent. The tip of the Needles can be rough in certain tides and weather too. Hope that gives you an insight 👍

@@123boat thanks for your reply, I have a zodiac cadet 310, I wouldn’t call myself an experienced sailor but have done a few coastal trips along the Dorset coast, and South Wales. I was only going to attempt this trip if the weather is good. But I might build up to the full trip with a couple of shorter ones. Thanks again for the advice

Great video! How confident you were the first time you did a trip of this distance in the Honwave? Have you been boating for a long time?
@123boat
@123boat 4 года назад
Hi George. Thank you. I've had this sib for 2 years now. I had been out many times on friends boats but never have had my own. So I would say I had little experience until I bought the Honwave. The first few trips I stayed in the harbour, then with a little confidence I strayed out to sea. The more you go out the greater the confidence you get in the boat and yourself. The first long trip was to the Needles which there is a video of. The Honwave t38 ie is a great sib and I have many more trips planned in the future.....

Boatsbitsandbobs looks like a great boat to grow into! Do you find the 9.9 plenty or would you consider more Hp down the line? I’m assuming it was a compromise to keep the whole setup portable?
@GeorgeLumkin
@GeorgeLumkin 4 года назад
Boatsbitsandbobs scratch my last question - I see it’s been uprated to 15, which makes more sense watching the videos!
@123boat
@123boat 4 года назад
@@GeorgeLumkin I think it's a perfect size engine for this boat. It is 2stroke and you can only get hold of these second hand unless you are a commercial boat owner.

Thanks. If my memory serves me right i think it was about 20ltrs. I have on occasions cut it very fine 😮 A lot depends on the sea conditions and when is rough i use more fuel.
