Video was an amf help. My cable broke and do not have a owners manual or expensive service manual didnt know what to do until i googled my problem and here you were. And yes all the videos you wanna make help. Current problems i face are replacing window regulator on passenger door Power steering pump How to maintenance the triptronic myself Brake pad replacement just to start. Thank you so much for your time
Thanks for that brother. I appreciate the comment. The reason I made the video like this is simply because these cars are older, often times the clips will break. So to avoid potentially cracking aging plastic, this is the best alternative. 💯
Ehhh. Not on these older cars. I have 2 A4s and 2 S4s, 2001 and 2004 for one of each. My B6 S4 hood release just broke. I made a tool to pop yhe latch out of ~1\4" round steel bar bent. But you CANT see shit with that giant V8 motor. There's literally less than 1/2" clearance. You can get a bar up there but you can't see ANYTHING. I wasted alot of time yesterday blindly attempting (I had 3 other cars with either the 1.8t or 2.7tt to practice on. Still couldn't get it. Popped the grill off and the damn thing broke pretty much everywhere. WAS a gorgeous/clean nogaro blue s4. Now I have to source a new grill. Going to try to un bolt the hood latch from the hood through the grill opening. Nothing else is working out. I build these cars from shells and motors from spare blocks all day long😅 this hood release is kicking my ass on the B6 S4. Everything else no problem. I got all of my other ones open no problem. I'll record and post if I find a way to work around the extremely tight fitting B6 S4 motor to pop the broken latch. Haven't seen anyone do it. Just on 1.8ts and a V6 or 2. No big fatty v8 motor blocking line of sight to the latch mech
ATQ, I've watched this video a dozen times. I purchased a 3/8" square rod and 3/8" round rod, both 36" long. Mine is a 2002 Allroad. There is no room for an arm or anything bigger than a couple of inches in diameter to get between the radiator and fan/motor. I can only see one "channel" to place the bar inside. There is no obvious channel to the left. I've been at this for two days without success. Any ideas?
@@AllThingsQuick not sure because mine is a 6 speed from Germany but theres not as much room. I don't eanto to mess with my grill but not sure how to access this way. Looks just like this car just the wagon version.
My automotive business partner watched a car smash someone’s skull to bits when he was a kid because the jack failed and he wasn’t using a jack stand. All it takes is one time for it to change or end your life. Use a damn jack stand so your head doesn’t go kaboom 😬
Sorry, I have no idea what the '98 model looks like. You may have to look for another video. But this was 3 months ago so I'm hoping you figured it out by now.
Not sure if this applies to you, but it seemed to be the only other logical thing if you have a similar set up. Never worked on a 96 before. It's the generation prior to mine. But they should all be very similar in nature. I think that you should maybe look around a little more and try to find a mechanic mechanism to pop it open like I did. But if not here's a video. If it doesn't work then let me know and we can try and figure it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LmOh1dIesR4.html
Question.. I have the same car just wagon automatic. Changed all things for cylinder 3 misfire. Someone told me the next step would be to change some check valve under the intake. Does that sound right or do you have a video about that?
Are you talking about the throttle body? Like is that the valve you're referring to? Misfires can be a number of things. But ill make a list of most cannon to least common: 1. Vaccume/boost leak 2. Bad coil pack 3. Foueled/bad spark plug 4. Stuck fuel injector (open or closed) 5. Sticking wastegate problems (over or under boosting) But otherwise there's not much to it. It's just a matter of going through the list and diagnosing where it's coming from. There is a specific process on each particular thing, however, I do not feel like writing a 2000 word novel on each one. So if you can diagnose which one of the 5 things it is then I am willing to do a write up for you on how to test that specific system. If you have an idea of what may be bad, this could help me help you diagnose it.
@@heathermitchell3215 no not at all. I'd suggest warming up your car. Let it run so the metal gets hot in the exhaust. Then you take a 7/8 wrench and take the o2 sensor out. You can also buy a 7/8 o2 sensor socket. They have a slit in the actual socket so the o2 sensor wire can slip through it to take it off. Super handy. I'd strongly recommend getting one.
On an Audi 2002 All road the little tongue that should come out when the lever inside opens the hood about an inch is missing. Is there any way to open the hood now?
Pretty sure it's the same process. You don't need the plastic tab, you don't don't need the hood release from inside the cab, you just need to follow these steps.
Any way you can help with the fact that the battery died and we replaced the battery and now we can't close the windows or open the convertible top.....i have been reading......the battery needs to be reprogrammed???? If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it...thamks so much
Tbh I'm not 100% sure but i do know that A LOT of the parts between both cars can be cross-referenced on their parts numbers. Both companies are eunder the same umbrella so a lot of the parts are the same. However, I've never owned a Passat, nor have I ever worked on one. The VW jetta is very similar to this and the passat is almost identical to the jetta.
I can't get my hood open, 2008 Audi a4 2.0 4 door sedan! There is a cable that I'm told to pull from the inside of the vehicle, I tried pulling it all day Today and the hood would not open, I'm afraid if I keep pulling it I will destroy it.... helppppp
If the latch does not work inside the car then this means it is broken somewhere under the hood. If you follow the steps in my video you should free your hood. Pulling the latch inside the car isn't going to do anything if it's broken.
@@colinplans7376 what do you mean "inside the car snaps"?? Clarify this so I am able to assist you. Like realistically if you are able to even reach your arm up in there then you are able to release the hood latch. I just use a bar so I don't have to use my arm.
@@colinplans7376 thats awesome. I'm really glad I was able to help. Check out the rest of my channel. I build racecars and I just started going full out with recording and stuff. So I will be uploading 1 video per week on Saturday 9PM (eastern time) until my car is 750WHP with a big turbo. I think you'll really like the series. So definitely subscribe and check it out 💯 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rkb_SNdnVpU.html
Add me on discord or whatsapp and I can hopefully assist you further. These are both open source links directly to our servers for diagnostics. discord.gg/7W4fbuvBhb chat.whatsapp.com/CQJqyAFNXdrHD7KR9idyYn
Awesome. Stoked to hear that 💯 Consider subscribing, I got a few videos coming out with this car. Compression testing. Cylinder misfires, spark plugs, ignition coils, and a few more things before I flip this car and get something else.
Thanks a bunch! Thats honestly the reason why I made this video. I'm about to sell my A4 but I got a couple more videos before I do. 1. Compression testing. 2. Misfire diagnostics. 3. Secondary air pump replacement. If you're interested on any of that, make sure to subscribe.
Can't speak for the 3L. Never had one and I've never worked on one neither. However they are all pretty well the same so you might just have to look a little harder or see if there is something similar there.
@@starrsanders7246 ahh yeah for sure my guy 💯. Glad that I could help you. I got a part 2 that just shows you how prevent it from it happening again. It's worth watching for real. Here's the link, let know what you think! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wsh_SCRCkQ8.html
Go watch someone else's tutorial then if you have a problem with that. Or piss off and learn how to do things for yourself instead of relying on other people. 🖕🥸🖕
