In order to prepare for the hood stack, this video is the removal of all necessary stock components. Those components are the EGR, EGR Cooler, DPF, and ASV.
The most difficult stock component to remove would be that of the DPF. The amount of sensors and flanges that are connected to the DPF make it pretty difficult. First and foremost my advice would be just to cut it and not even fight with it, it is not worth it to try and get it out in one piece.
German engineers do a VERY good job with tight packaging so be prepared to fight each piece due to close tolerances.

My understanding is you don't necessarily need the race pipe. You can just use the egr valve and block it off, plus the shutter valve on there could potentially save a run away.

Awesome video, definitely gonna be rewatching this when i delete mine. Also fun little tidbit that little module thing at 8:54 is the dpf pressure differential sensor. Not that it matters, just recognized it from having to replace several of em on takeuchis and GEHLs lol

Great video. Does the EGR cooler have to come out to get to the manifold to install the block-off plate? My Darkside kit came with 3 plates. One for the EGR, one for the manifold, and one for the EGR cooler. Thanks
@NRCThings
@NRCThings 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment, make sure to like and sub! No sir, but I would recommend pulling it out anyways. The block off plate for the manifold is the worst one to do by far. Everything on top of the DSG has to come out as well as some intercooler piping. I ended up having to do it as the cross over tube broke from vibration

Any tips on installing the plug on the backside of the turbo? I can't seem to get the plug to fit in the hole.
@NRCThings
@NRCThings 8 месяцев назад
Hey man, thanks for the comment! Make sure to like and sub to the channel! Unthread it almost all the way, throw the plug into the hole, get it started to tighten with a regular ratchet, and then hit it with an electric impact. That is the way that I did it and if I remember correctly it took a little convincing to get it in the hole. Whatever you do, dont put any oil on it. Rather put hairspray on it if it still is giving you trouble. The hairspray will dry and become tacky unlike oil

Can you tell me what size vband you used. Mine doesn’t work. The stack I got from them is too thick or something. Or they sent me the wrong clamp. The clamp only fits over turbo flange

Hey man, thanks for the comment! Make sure to like and sub to the channel if you found the video helpful. If you go to my other video there is a comment where we discuss this exact thing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UjvVYHfVITM.htmlsi=WojruWd-6z7roG6k The proper size is 75mm. At least that is what is the direct replacement. The VW part number is 1K0 253 725 B. That is right below 3". The v-band is NOT fun to get start and it is 100% a two person job. I had to get someone to hold the stack from the bottom while I had the bolt all the way threaded out and it still took some convincing to get it started. I would recommend trying to do it that way. Have someone hold it and then sort of pry the bottom of the v-band clamp onto both flanges. Best of luck, it took me a few hours of fighting with it by myself to finally call someone to help

So I’m confused. I have deleted a mk7. But this one is weird. So the EGR kit you have is for a 1.9. The race pipe is different on a 2.0 mk6 which is what I have and I’m deleting it. But when I look for the kits it’s showing a race pipe that bolts in both sides.
@NRCThings
@NRCThings 8 месяцев назад
Hey man, thanks for the comment! Make sure to like and sub to the channel if you found the video helpful! Truthfully it depends on what exactly you get. I got the "race pipe" which consists of removing both the EGR and the ASV. If you remove just the EGR (which sits between the ASV and the intake) you will have a bolted flange on each side. One flange will bolt to the intake and the other to the ASV. If you remove both EGR and ASV (like I opted to do) you will have one bolted flange that bolts to the intake and the other will be a slip on flange for the intercooler piping. I hope that helps!

Hey my girlfriend gave me her 2013 TDI with a bad turbo. Dealership are SOB they tried to ripped her off. So I got it now as a freebie as long as I buy and replace the turbo….. yeah bro it’s a pain in the ASS, freaking Hitler revenge!!!!!! So I’m not familiar with TDI since I’m about to removed the bad turbo, what’s the purpose for deleting all that?! Gain HP or just for looks, I’m curious to know, I’m a Subaru and Honda guy, so any information would be highly appreciated! Video time 15:32 bro, you could have avoided that issue by just unbolting the subframe bolts to about a 1/4 on all of them and that hideous thing could have been snake out….just saying you could have save it and sell it out, you never know who would need a replacement👌
@CrosstownExpress
@CrosstownExpress 10 месяцев назад
The purpose of a delete on these cars from what I've gathered is mostly for sound, reliability, power gains and supposedly a bit better fuel economy as well. Haven't deleted mine yet but will be soon before the dpf has a chance to plug up or something and put me out of service for awhile
@Superduty_59
@Superduty_59 10 месяцев назад
Subframe bolts are a 1 time use TTY bolt. You would have to replace all the bolts that you loosened also it would throw off your front end alignment. You would then have to get the car aligned. Best not to take anything loose. The DPF WILL come out in one piece. It's tight but it will come out without cutting.
@NRCThings
@NRCThings 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment, make sure to like and sub! Just going to sort of re-iterate what was said in the previous two comments. Mine through a check engine light for the DPF, at that point I knew it needed replacing. That was the main driver behind deleting but also MPG, HP, and reliability as there are less parts in the car that can go bad now. As far as the subframe, that is exactly what I didnt drop it. Bringing the sawzaw out was much easier than having to go and buy new bolts for it and get the car re-aligned. I did not feel like fighting with it anymore so cutting was the way for me. Like always, there are most definitely more than one way to skin a cat. I hope you are liking your TDI so far, I love mine

Hi Cole, I see both of your comments. I will answer both of them on this. To your first question - yes, I put the oil line back on the turbo it is a vital component for sure. For the coolant spill question - yes, I did spill coolant all over. A little more that I expected actually, get ready to change your shirt when it starts running down your arm. I appreciate you commenting, give us a like and sub to help us grow!
