The whole game is the result of him challenging himself to see if he can make a game in a year, and it ended up being a masterpiece. That’s the most amazing part in my opinion

Thats not nostalgia, thats the heart and soul of the work of someone who just made an exceptional song and can a story very well through it. I start discover undertale fandom alone with touhou in 2016 Both fandom and songs are so good and some of it are tearjerking Sad nowadays people said undertale fandom was worst fandom in internet. Back in the days its popular and loved by all people
“It’s been years... It’s been YEARS” It’s been 3 years. Don’t try to make it seem any longer than that. Sure it may be long for you, but 3 years is not a quarter of *everyone’s* life.
Undertale really changed my life. It sounds silly, talking this way about a game, but it really did. I was skepticle about life, just living every day, feeling like I'm missing something, and that I don't fit in. The game made me realise that I am different than most people around me, but I don't care. I am who I am. It made me give a chance to meeting new people, that a stranger has the potential to be a friend. It really did fill me with determination.

Damn...just....wow. That was a crazy roller coaster of emotions. Going from peaceful, to sad, to hopeful, and then to bittersweet. You made this song sync up perfectly with what was going through my head during the final hour of Undertale.

Never doing genocide. I've grown super attached to the characters, and who am I to ruin their happy ending? Besides; I feel accomplished. I finally beat it nearly 4 days ago. It felt great. Tears rolling down from my tears to my cheeks. I'm happy; _they're_ , happy.
Well, nobody really *wants* to do the genocide run *because* they've grown so attached to the characters. That being said, doing the genocide route is recommended as it reveals a lot of story details and sheds a whole new light on the game. Basically, go for it. You're missing out if you don't
@DustyTurquoise *sigh.* Apparently this still has to be said even three and a half years later. There's absolutely nothing wrong with preferring a route, and there's nothing wrong with growing attached to fictional characters. But literally saying "F those guys" to people who prefer a different route is immature and stupid. I don't prefer the Genocide route but I do like it for what it is, as it gives extra insight and I happen to like creepy stories, and the route is certainly creepy. They are, at the end of the day, fictional characters. Please don't insult people over something like that. It's not like they're killing real people.

OH MY GOD YES am i also the only one who feels like if undertale was made into a movie, it would be the only videogame movie thats at least SLIGHTLY decent??
6:35 on makes me want to cry so bad. "Frisk...Player...there's nothing more you can do here. No other path would be better suited. It's okay. You can move on, we'll be alright. Just take care of yourself, okay? Because kid...someone out there really cares about 'ya. Goodnight."
@Haley Yang yeah but i pointed it out that was a hyperbole because you had to bring up the difference if i say a woman is bigger than the empire state building i don´t i know shes not exactly that big but you responded like i literally meant it was as long as lotr rather than figuratively
It's been 5 years, but despite everything, *It's still you* Dear Toby Fox, These were the words that got me to where i am today, and at this moment. I wouldn't have become the person i am today if it wasnt for you and that brilliant mind of yours. Those words have taught me that, no matter what you've done, or where you've been, *you are still the person that you were before* I want you to realize, the game you created, is a grounding rock for me and many others. I want to thank you immensely for everything youve done for the world. You have no idea how much Undertale has had an effect on everyone, and myself included. You have taught me so much without knowing my name, or even knowing i exist, and thats okay. I am so grateful for YOUR existence, and i want you to know that no matter what, i will always be a part of the Undertale community, because it has helped me through so much, and i cant lose that happiness, that love, that, DETERMINATION. I cannot thank you enough, and i hope one day you will grow to understand how you have been given a true gift, one true gift, that no one else can match. I thank you once again, Toby Fox. -S
Never did the Genocide Run. I’m missing out sure, but who am I to wreck their happy ending? Currently, they’re still living in my laptop, the game untouched ever since I completed this awesome journey of a game.
my friend forced me to do genocide but then I did true pacifist 20 times to repent and with that i still play the game with a new file to repent for killing 21 files all untouched after the True pacifist run
@@ghostbreadaxolotl4254 well, getting attached to the characters does that to you. It's hard not to, though. Considering that the first time I played the game, they were written quite well that they almost felt real.

Imagine: It's Christmas Eve. Toriel and Frisk are out doing last chance Christmas shopping, Asgore is acting as Santa Claus with undyne and alphys as his elves. Mettaton is doing some singing at grillby's, while Sans and Papyrus enjoy a meal. They All notice a shooting star outside. Once their obligations are done, they follow it to where it vanished, to a gigantic Christmas tree. Asriel is there.
**You opened your eyes. You wonder "What day is it?", so you check the date on your phone. Then it hit you. Today was the day. Four years has officially passed since the game came out. It's been a long journey, hasn't it? Even if it really has been 4 years, it still feels like the game just came out a month ago. You remembered all the friends you made on your journey. Made friends with a motherly queen, befriended and dated a skeleton, fought with a confident fish, helped a scientist dino-lizard fight with her anxiety, befriended and danced with a robot, befriended and forgave a king, and made a soulless flower prince smile. You admitted that eventually you reset their memories, went on a killing spree, ending every single life there was left. On this journey, you learned that you have to take responsibility for your actions, and not all things can be forgotten. You can't run away from your mistakes, but you can always try again. So you reset once again, once again befriending every soul there was, once again redeeming yourself, and finally, receiving forgiveness from a fellow skeleton. You felt that everything was ok once again, and you used to play for hours. You thought "If only there was a way to forget everything so I could experience the whole game all over again." 4 years, everyone. We've come so far, and we can't let the game die yet. Others may say that the game has been far gone, but we know that there are still other people out there who love the game just as much as you do. Don't let this die. Don't give up! Stay *Determined* !!!
Why is everyone saying they want a Undertale Movie? I mean, it would be cool if it turned into a Movie but it wouldn't be the same since its no longer based of your choices but off a Script written by someone. Its a great thing but I think a Movie would just ruin it. Edit: Sorry for not responding earlier to your comments. I keep comment notifications off and I just saw this. So I read all of your comments and I think that an interactive 'Animated Series' ('cause live actions almost always sucks) like Bandersnatch (which, btw, I haven't still watched) could work if done right but I still believe that the game should just be left the way it is. Just my thoughts.
maybe we should make it like dora the explorer where EVERY GODDAMN MOMENT the mc ask what should we do now that I think about it, that's a pretty bad idea
For years I've been coming here for a good cry whenever I needed one, I just sit there with closed eyes for 7 minutes and let the music take control over my emotions. This is the first time I've ever commented on a video, but I felt like I needed to leave this message here. Truly a beautiful piece and I am so eternally grateful that you decided to share it with the world.
It really works doesn't it. Quite honestly Undertale will be one of the few films where people get just as annoyed if the music doesn't fit as they would with anything else. With all the great tracks in it's score it would be insane not to make the most off it. On that note what I see is the opening being (oh yeah spoiler) where Asriel has just tried to destroy everything. Then you notice Frisk standing there somehow alive in the obliterated world. At 47seconds they drop their dagger making Asriel recoil in confusion. Then at 0:58 they open their eyes and extend an open hand to Asriel... 1:09 cue showdown of love and forgiveness.
+Thomas Mason eh. Heheh. Nah. Actually, that's a great idea. Instead of the showdown of love and happiness though, it should Asriel takes hand, fade to white, flashback of multiple shots in movie, then abrupt stop on black screen, then Frisk suddenly falls past, then cut to another camera angle of frisk falling, then a shot of frisk hitting the ground, when they make contact, instant black screen. Then after a few seconds, it fades to frisk passed out on the ground, then wakes up. And then it's just the rest of the game.
It's been five years... A friend that has kickstarted the game and had an spare copy gave me this masterpiece... I would never imagine that a single game would change the whole image I had about myself. On how cruel I could and would turn if there were no consequences, on how I could reproduce cruelty just because it was acepted, just because it would be fun, a game that showed me what kind of monster I would turn if I have power. This music represents not only Determination, but the redemption of my soul, my ability to make sacrifices for what is right. I guess Toby Fox would never read this comment, but if one of you happen to know him, thank him for me.

When describing this game to someone; it's a heartwarming, funny, game about love, true friendship, compassion, mercy, determination, hopes, and dreams. (Pause for effect) ....and in some cases, genocide!
Nowhere in the entire Kingdom Hearts series is a boss song anything like this. It's pretty much always an electronic-orchestral mix with organs or a single violin as the lead. The only exception that comes to mind is Roxas, and even that one builds up quite a bit. This song's too slow and classical to fit.
I think its kind of fitting for the first half because that is what the fight was trying to give us An emotional Fight but for the rest of it Its really slow it really need a kick It dose not mean I hate it I love it I'm just saying there's some things that could have been in there like electric guitar to give it the kick.

God damn, it's been a couple of years since I moved away from undertale and its fandom. I put 90+ hours into the game when it first came out, was actively involved in the fandom, despite the toxicity. I've recently come back to the music side of undertale because the community and everyone have poured so much love and genuine passion into remaking, remixing, and creating unique pieces out of Toby Fox's masterpiece of a game. I'd like to say thank you to all of the music makers, comic illustrators, and animators out there for making the undertale community shine! And to all of you fellow fans out there, well, Stay Determined!
Every time I come back to these songs, I remember how much I loved this game and still do. I learned to love more than I ever have from Undertale. I’m so glad that I got to play this game.
same here... Undertale is more than a game. It is a rite of passage, a lifechanging experience. It has made me redefine the simplest words. "love". "friend". "save". "hope". "dream". "free".
This song is the reason I decided to complete Undertale. This game has the best story delivery and soundtracks.I can't even imagine that an 8 - bit RPG can give me such a good experience that I will never forget. Thanks to Rush Garcia.
This song truly reminds me that Undertale is not just a game. You can take your own paths, make your own decisions. No matter how long ago this game was released this song with always peirce me through the soul. Thanks for making such an incredible work of art for the public 🙏❤

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.”- Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. This literally made me cry, not one of those joke comments, like this seriously made me cry, Undertale made me into the person I am today, even with procrastination I eventually end up doing what I want too, or what I have too, it’s made me more determined, and more helpful towards others, and I absolutely love the game, sometimes I wish I could go back to those times where I was more socially awkward, when I had first actually played the game for myself, so I can feel the beautiful experience of my morality going higher, and my love for the game grow, as I saw all of my friends in the game, and said my final goodbye to them, and I’m happy from it, because I did the pacifist route last, which made me experience the easy way out on the first hand, not caring too much about the characters, but then after deciding to not be an A Hole in the game, I finally felt something meaningful residing in me, watching all of my favorite characters live their lives, all happy, and I remember, I did this, and that I can make a change, for the better.
Listening to this makes me think about how Frisk wasn't the most powerful, or even very powerful at all. but she beat Asriel while being way weaker and didn't have to kill anyone along the way. She did the impossible while being the best her she could be, and that truly does fill me with determination. Stay merciful, everyone.

That's right. I'm still here. But hey, we will never and NEVER forget Undertale. It's not a simple game, it's an antidepression, a medicine for the world we live in.
come on people, don't ruin their experience if they haven't seen it yet, it's was truly a game that brought us to tears of sadness, rage and happiness, let this one soul who hasn't been corrupted by the undertale fandom experience it for themselves
I remember playing this beautiful masterpiece, and still, about 5 or 6 years later, I still love this beautiful game. The best storyline I’ve ever seen in a game, the best characters I’ve ever seen in a game, the game I’ve been the most attached to in my whole life, the best everything! This game has helped me through some hard times, and it still hasn’t let off. And you know, no one else should either! If you’re in a bad spot right now, strive through it! Don’t let anything get in your way! Humans don’t live long! So live your life with no regrets and live it the best way you can! Enjoy life, enjoy everything about it! Be thankful for any kindness that you receive and give kindness back! No matter what, never give up. If you do, you’ll regret it later on. And again, if you’re in a tough spot in life, or in anything! Don’t give up! Ask for help! Ask anyone! Life is valuable, so don’t waste it. *Stay Determined!*
