It is more of the same that Horizon Chase 2 provides and I am totally ok with that. It just needs a stability patch to be a top tier experience. Split screen footage will be coming in a future video.

Thank you for the excellent analysis. Especially the critique of the wholly unneeded online nonsense. It’s got to be a pretty low percentage (1-3% ?) of players that actively use these features. And they just annoy the rest of us. Wish online game progress would just go away.

Agree. Then in a few years time the servers will go down and then it'll be an annoying mess. It just feels jarring when you pitch your game as a 90s throwback. Great game otherwise though.

Great review. I loved the first one just for the nostalgia vibes and pick up and go fun. Sad that this isn't available on Steam though. Horizon Chase Turbo is a perfect racer for the Steam Deck. I'll pick it up on the PS5 for now though.

Excellent review....I 100% agree with everything you said (especially the game being too easy). One thing though: There are actually 7 locations in World Tour 😋

@@HigherPlainGames Haha, yeah some of those time trial events are brutally difficult. I have a question though: A few of the vehicle paint unlocks have "complete the bonus stage at xx location" attached to them. Any ideas where exactly these bonus stages are?

I still have Outrun and Outrun Europa on my Sega Master System. Outrun Coast to Coast was great on PS2 as well. Iconic.

Yes. Up to 4 players offline splitscreen.

Yes but the option is a bit hidden. In multiplayer you "create a crew" which gives you a code to share so you all join the same game. It's a private lobby for 4 players to race together but it is just not called that.

No. You have to unlock it through world tour mode but you can play world tour in 1-4 player mode and as long as someone finishes in the top 5 the next track opens up.
