@@cadendewet9935 To be sure, I think every Horizon-loving gamer would rather have the path traversable the whole way-populated with machine sites-than have new cloud technology, given the choice between the two.
@@cdraun1880 probably yes but the game is heavily driven by art the artist likely wanted it like especially since the first cinematic lets Aloy fly through the clouds but yes players would probably prefer it like that the artist just wanted to fulfill there vision 🤸♂️
Would've been damn funny if that was the legit way to enter the Burning Shores and Beta was guiding you step by step. "Okay, Aloy. First you have to bug out of the map. There should be an invisible brush above you." "Yeah, I think I can reach that."
Their environment system randomly generates elements based on the environment parameters that are set in the engine (like plants around rivers/water for example). I'm guessing the same goes for loot/pick-ups around the map only specific areas being built up by hand
yes, there are discussions and posts in horizon subreddit showing that they can see the burning shores' map even before its release, the map was prolly layed out there but without content yet similar to hzd where the dlc area was already there but blocked not until its release
