Yeah agree, way to hard on yourself. F**k oath, that's high standards if that's a "near crash". I crash land weekly if that's the standard we are setting 😂
I experienced a tricky crosswind landing on my first full solo flight in a Champ (taildragger). Turned into a go-around and felt "thrilling" to me to say the least, but like your crosswind correction, it was also probably not as dramatic looking to a more experienced tailwheel pilot as it felt at the time to me. Keep flying sir, have fun and be safe!
I'm sure it felt worse than it looked (due to lateral forces from the wind at touchdown). I've had hard landings that hurt my teeth, but look not that bad on video.
You turned the yoke pretty heavily to the right as you entered the flare so it caused you to slip a little and to takeout that slip you used roll which put you on the right side of the center line. Definitely no where near a crash and you adjusted well after the initial error. Main issue was just a little bit of over control because you were trying to allign with the center line during approach. Just need to get a little more comfortable using those toes. Thank you for sharing and you did a great job with your correction. Hope you stuck with it.
Good to see you have the habit of using checklists...don't loose that. May try to annunciate a little clearer on the radio calls, but overall it looked acceptable to me.
Person who posted this has no idea of bad landing this was a very good landing good flare held the nose just right. On a high cross wind situation dont wanna flare too long or slow down plane will stall and yaw loosing directional control.
Still looks good at me, at least, but I'm not in the plane with you, so idk, so very very nice job! Congratulations for bringing the plane down safely.
Good landing. Waited too long to clear the intersection. Pointer: Learn your checklists, perform them, refer back to the list as a check, then move out of the area as directed or able.
Not a bad landing. He just landed to the right of centerline. I was expecting a hard landing or a bounce upon touchdown. Not sure why the person that posted the video gave an inaccurate title description.
The landinng is quite in order. You indicate with your body language that you are in charge of the control of the aircraft. The big problem here is that you take the aircraft and it's control for granted.
You did fine. Only thing I would say is be clearer on the radio. Speak clear and even toned, and don't release the push to talk button until you're finished speaking.
That's a perfect landing. Look like a little wind gust caught you just over the runway but you corrected it, didn't land skew or sideways, I'd call it a perfect landing.
@@mustangtonto5862 With commercial aircraft like A320's or 737's their tails are very big, meaning the rudder has a bigger effect on the planes yaw than a small Cessna. Therefore you don't need a ton of input for landing, unless landing in a crosswind. But yeah, it is pretty weird.
@@desertdronepilot Thank you for the reply. You may be right, but I still feel that a rudder’s size and movement is relative to the size of the aircraft be it a 747 or a C-150.
Probably felt a lot worse than it really was. Not much you can do when you catch a sudden gust. Nice job correcting and not freezing up on the controls. There's pilots who will tell you they've had worse landings, and the rest are lying about it.
Clickbait title. You had that landing just fine. Yes you flared harder than usual, but good control. Change the title to "early flare with controlled landing" Keep it up!
So far no one has mentioned, used full control column input to the right , to vacate the runway, ( steering a car !!! ) hope you are using the rudders and feet ,more now you have some more time in . You do not need an ipad on the yoke for circuits , get rid. Stay safe.
