Just a note for Horridon's charge, any combat breaking ability will just make him do the double strike where hes standing if you use it before the actual charge. Examples: Shadowmeld, Vanish, Feigndeath...

We keep horridon at the opposite door from the first gate til after last door is completed. Pally tank and healer both with Clemancy talents and just Bop the stacks off. Anyhoo great vid as always guys

I use the Control/Mastery build. Hit @ Expertise to cap followed up with mastery and stamina as needed to live. For prot pallys, parry and dodge are not advisable. Stacking them will drop your holy power generation rate which in turn reduces the number of SotR you can use which gives fewer Bastion of Glory Stacks and results in weaker WoG casts when you need it. Stacking haste over mastery give a greater frequency of SotR hits. It's a matter of preference.

Haste builds mean "ACTIVE" mitigation mechanics. Prot pallys have an active mitigation that procs when you use your "shield slam (don't know how its actually called D:) which reduces physical dmg recived (45-50% dmg reduce) for a few secs. Haste builds also increase tank overall dps which can help raid-wide dps. These builds are just a way of playing and they only have a real impact on tanking if your raid has problems with meeting enrage timers.

Well dang. Got him tonight. Took 4 runs and 31 wipes before we finally got him down. We had lots of lineup changes. It REALLY requires a close knit team. We kite the adds (slowly) from door 3 to door 4, leaving behind the orbs. We are also lucky enough to have a 530 prot pally who was able to take the boss the whole time. The biggest mistake I made was looking at 10-15 different videos & thinking they all had teams doing far more DPS. But ours went way up thanks to Phase 2 (939K total).

If you guys didn't know, you can actually solo-tank Horridon with a Prot Paladin by rotating Hand of Protection and Divine Shield to clear the debuff stacks every time he goes to break a gate then the Paladin and taunt and drag after the stun wears off on Horridon. You don't NEED the talent Clemency for this, but it helps a lot. I personally don't use Clemency.

My group is still progressing on this fight but we were getting roughly five to seven before a switch. If you are having issues at the first door. The tank that is going to tank the adds should pull the boss and tank him until the gate opens. Once the gate opens then do a switch. I play a monk tank so I'm able to mitigate a lot of the damage due to purify brew. Good luck. Lots of guilds are having trouble with this fight.

Disc priest monk healing combo is amazing. Monks remove all poisons magic effects plus mass dispel. With the damage modifier a disc priest AA/A on the boss will just dominate the heals. Not to mention the disc priests dps on the boss will make p5 faster.

You didn't mention that the Venom Priests' Volley is can be interrupted on the 2nd door. That in my opinion is a key part of the fight, since interrupting that cast = 10 less dispels needed. Healers (and their mana pools) really appreciate the reduced healing/dispel requirements ;)

haste/mastery builds rely on active mitigation from shield of the righteous, since haste now reduces cooldowns for prot, too. parry/dodge builds is just passive mitigation, and isnt 100% reliable if the RNG gods hate you. they both basiclly do the same, but AM is just generally more reliable if you know how to work it.

Sounds like a DPS problem more than anything else. I'd recommend that you try 2 heal it if you're aren't already and try bringing high cleave or DoT DPS if you have that available.

There are 2 ways to do it, neither is wrong. Personally I also prefer the control/threat priority which is Melee Hit (7.5%) > Expertise (15%) > Haste > Mastery > Parry > Dodge. Reason I prefer it is, stacking parry and dodge may result in less overall damage taken, but I don't like trusting my survival to chance. Also, I reforge dodge first, not that dodge is bad but the simple term of how diminishing returns work is dodge is good in high amounts for short durations.

Btw You can move while using the orb of control and you also can dispell that triple puncture debuff with HoP

haste/exp lets you use more active mitigation. parry/dodge is more passive mitigation. It depends on your skill level and how well you can manage things.

avoidance is descent now still the lowest, haste control is best if you can time everything perfectly, mastery control is overall as good as that too and can lower the large spikes better if you can time it right

Also having quite a hard time getting a good amount of dps on this boss as a assasination rogue, also considered respeccing to combat, but your simple talent switch seems a nice option.

Thanks for the advice :)! We finally managed it last night! Keep up the video's :) I make video's for my guild, just simple ones explained in the way my guild members are used to saves time rather then explaining them in the raid, but it can be quite challenging to do the video's for them before I actually get to do the normal mode fight. Your video's have been a great help so I can understand some fights more before I explain them.

i personally prefer the haste/exp build due it being overall more reliable, having 7.5% hit/ 15% expertise lets you always get a charge of holy power from CS/HOTR/J and raises the uptime of SoTr. avoidance is viable, however it simply under performs in comparison to haste/mastery builds

Its worth mentioning that the majority of the adds on the 3rd door don't have an aggro table, i learnt this after a few wipes but no guides seem to mention it

you can also try the haste thing too, its just not as good for some of the fghts. i tend to do it on fight like heroic gara'jal when u need max deeps

I would imagine it is because they figured that the positives about a haste/exp build outweigh the negatives. As they both offer around the same amount of survivability, but the haste/exp one does a LOT more dps, it would make sense to chose that build for most bosses. Take my word with a grain of salt as I am not overly familiar with prot pallies. It is however the case for both blood dks and guardian druids.

The adds before, you need a ranged dps to go and pull ONLY 1, then bring it to the stairs, kill that add, and wait until the dbuff goes, the dbuff reduces healing, and then do that until there all dead.

Noticed your rogue was pulling decent numbers on this fight here. Currently a 491 Assassination rogue and had no issues whatsoever in the last tier or first boss of ToT. However having a problem maintaining a decent level of dps on horridon. A few people have mentioned that marked for death is a decent talent to take and nuke the adds quickly with that, however i'm thinking that blade flurry might actually be more use. Did your rogue spec combat for this one? Great video as always guys!

You dont have to do the taunting strta with the tanks swaping if you have a pally in group bubbling the tank with Horridon after the 2nd and 3rd door and having the tank with the adds on last phase taking Horridon at this time

1:00 not entirely true. Paladins can tank him all the way until the end of the fight if need be. The way I have been doing this fight is keeping him until jalak comes down then having our other tank taunt him and hold him while we deal with jalak. It tends to make it easier because the add tank never has to worry about getting there in time to start picking up the adds.

Hi, we just started giving trying this boss yesterday and it was a bit chaotic, we started going at it and we reached the phase 3, however I have a question to the healers on your group, mainly, how do you handle the dispels? what we are doing (I'm a pally healer) I focos on dispel a designated tank, a melee and me, and then whoever else is dispelable, any special tip from the point of view of healing?

Traditionally Survival is the best low level PvP spec (explosive shot is OP). For a while BM was top PvE spec. But it's SO DULL. I've stuck to MM and will probably keep it that way, even though I need BM for 5 exotic pets I have.

Well, for example I don't really get anything good from the first couple bosses and I have mainly 496 gear, so I would wait to get to other bosses which drop something really good for me. Of course its ilvl 522 you get there but so many mail int drops there gives crit and crit for ele shaman is.. shit.

Guild's having an issue on the venom priests; healers are one disc priest, one holy priest and a resto shaman; it's next to impossible to dispel the poisons and our ret pally is having to use Cleanse, and THAT'S on an 8-second CD. Any suggestions?

It's not Triceratops, kind of mix of Styracosaurus and Triceratops. Anyway doesn't resemble any known species from Ceratopsidae family. It's Wowatops!

One of my guilds, I believe, is a bit undergeared for this fight and can't kill the adds fast enough. How would you suggest we manage the adds/doors? Can we leave the Dinomancer up until we kill the main adds (wastewalkers, etc) so we don't phase into the next door with adds still up? Is that how it works?

What would you recommend for disc healing in this, the previous boss was clearly atonement but i'm finding this one harder to Raid AoE heal but atonement doesn't seem right because of all the adds to prioritize (i'm healing with a shammy and a monk).

My guild has been stuck on this boss quite a bit. The first 3 doors are fine, but once we reach the 4th door it all goes out of control I've watched your video which seems to go a lot smoother. Have you got anymore advice? I feel there is something silly we are missing. We have been single targeting the bear down and then the shaman and seem to get very overwhelmed by the time we kill the Dinomancer. We have also been dispelling the curse.
