Horror Fatal Collision - Police Interceptor Tells All!  

My brother is a paramedic. A few weeks back working on a patient in the ambulance. Some nob head came out the house moaning they were blocking his driveway....

It should be a specific criminal offence with a higher sentence than standard assaults, instant jail time, 6 months minimum.

I would get sacked in that job as I would definitely fight back. I’m not a punch bag I’m human and trying to help but hit me I’ll hit you back.

@@rickybojangles162 in Australia at least, it is. However, to my knowledge, despite countless incidents of violence against paramedics (of which I am one), nobody has actually been prosecuted under that particular law.

Agree with you on this. Audi S3 and the likes were nowhere near achieveable when I was 17, but now for young lads who’ve got good credit, they can get a 20k car for their first car and drive it like it’s stolen. They’ll be fine, but it’s the poor sod/ animal they hit that won’t.

Back in the day, when you passed your driving test, you bought an old banger with a smaller engine to keep the insurance cost down and you drove much more carefully. You didn't want to make a claim on your insurance, have to fix your damaged car through non vehicle collisions, or have to replace the car because the insurance payout would never match the "value" of the car (or the price of the car you had to buy to replace it). Not just the cars. I’ve seen lorry bullies tailgating and undertaking and weaving in and out on motorways when there’s 50 construction limits. Yes yes the lorry has the “true speed”, doesn’t excuse the behaviour I’ve seen.

@@poosmate the sad thing is I’m only 28 and have had fast cars (have one now) but it doesn’t mean I have to drive like a dick everywhere. Slip roads is about the only place I put my foot down and then I stick cruise on at 68 because fuel is expensive 😂

@@TheGrinningSkull I agree with you mate, we are all guilty of a bit of impatience at times - again that’s a whole other discussion, you could argue as to who’s really causing a problem, the person dithering about at 42 in the middle lane bunching everyone up or the person who simply goes past technically in the wrong lane? Not something I make a habit of , but I won’t say I don’t do, however tailgating, no, not intentionally , but sometimes you’re just trying to maintain momentum for example approaching or going up a hill and you hope the person in front wakes up and gets going but sadly not always the case and you have to back off the gas….. like I said, a whole other discussion 👍

Nature must have a way of taking out the stupid. Way too many stupid humans survive which dilutes the gene pool, which in turn makes the human race even more stupid. In the past they would get eaten by a bear or lion for being stupid, now the vehicle and their very own stupidity is the bear and lion of today.

A similar thing happened in my school a few years back (Probably 14 or 15 at the time). They brought in a totaled Ford on the back of a trailer, airbags and all. Showed the collision and then described the injuries. Horrifying to look at. I'm 18 now in college and learnt to drive last year when I was 17. It honestly scares me that I have to share the road with some people who I know are utter idiots. I've known them for almost 7 years at this point and know they don't have 2 braincells to bash together. One day walking out of college, crosssing the road: - They're driving towards me but I have enough time to get to the central pavement in the road (The thing which helps you cross) - I start crossing at a reasonably fast walking pace, would get to the center with more than enough time - Hear a downwards gear change up to like 5k rpm and hard acceleration - I look to my right and see them coming towards me, moving towards the middle of the road - I basically run to the central pavement behind the plasic bollard sign things - They drive up and over the edge of the kerb less than 25cm away from my feet while laughing Absolute idiots, how did they manage to pass their test and how have they not already lost their license? (Also, how did their tire not pop lol?) Lets just say that after experiencing that, I'm always careful to look out for people I may know when crossing the road 😂

@@_jamesrayner_ scary stuff, I learned when I was 17 but didn’t actually get to sit my test until I was 20 (thanks covid 😂) but in hindsight I think I would’ve been way too nervous if I had my licence at 17 because of the way other people behave. Around my local area there’s drivers with some severe road rage that get angry and shout out the window whilst overtaking me for sticking to the speed limit but I’ve just learned not to take it personally even though it does make me paranoid that I’m doing something wrong 😂

In year 11 we were forced to attend an assembly for 2 hours which covered things like what happens if you drink/drug drive, use your phone, it had several horrifying videos, including the one where the car flips, goes over a fence and kills a little girl playing in the garden. Yet I know most of the people I went to school with have for sure used their phones whilst driving or have drunk drove. Videos like this last for maybe the afternoon. They're soon forgotten. Best thing Governments can do to stop this is to invest in technology for cars. Make all future models have cameras that read speed signs and don't allow you to go above it. Make mobile phone companies force your mobile into airplane mode if it detects you're in a moving car without the option of removing this (iPhones have this capability, they just currently allow you to turn it off). Have the government set up a site which means you can't sell your vehicle to anyone unless they have a valid license and insurance. At the moment I'm sure you can sell your car privately to anyone, and it's their responsibility to have the insurance and license and the one selling it doesn't face the consequences. I'd change this.

More education? What more can they do? I've seen countless videos etc of the consequences of using phones, drink driving etc. Seen lots of like A&E docs with patients coming in from an RTC and I bet others have but it won't stop them. The only thing that can, now, is technology. iPhones have a feature that disables the internet on your phone when it detects you're in a moving vehicle. It can be switched off, I'd make it compulsory to be on and not be able to disable it. Some vehicles also now have cameras - these cameras read road signs, and some can force you to not go above the speed limit. I also don't understand why you can sell your car to anyone without seemingly needing proof of insurance and license. I know garages generally request it, but I don't think if you sell your vehicle onto someone privately that you do. I'd also make this compulsory and for it to be filed with the government, checked, and approved before you can sell it to them. It'll stop these yobbos who drive without insurance or a license that way. If you sell to someone without it, immediate £10,000 fine and ideally a prison sentence, too. THIS is what is needed. You can force someone to watch a video on the consequences of using your phone etc at the wheel every day before they make a journey, but I'm telling you now it won't stop many from doing so as soon as they have a text come through.

Just needs to be an instant 6month ban for driving and texting. 24months for driving while checking facebook.

@@ZJS0113 The issue with this is how many people have done it for so many years and never got caught. They will have the mentality of 'I'll never be caught so I'm gunna keep doing it'. Then there's also the issue with courts saying "ah, well, you'll be in hardship if you're banned... so... just 5 points on your license it is you naughty boy. Dont do it again"

@@04williamsl Doesn't matter if they're banned or not, it won't stop them driving. How many times have we seen Ben and his mates stop disqualified/uninsured drivers..? If you're stopped while banned, for the first time, it should be an additional 2 years. Get stopped again, lifetime ban and 2 years inside. Serving ALL the time, not let out after a few months.

I did the same thing over a 25 mile route, same outcome.

100% agree, boils my piss that someone gets in the car drunk or sniffed up and kill someone and they get a sentence of around 6 years so out in 3 🤦🏽‍♀️

@@ZJS0113 I came from bikes over to cars, which probably helped a lot but I literally did my 1st driv8ng lesson in January 2012 and was told to book test after 2 hours. By Feb 14th 2012 (should've taken much more than 3 weeks and 4-5 hours of lessons) i had my licence, 2 yr after that i had my class 2 and 18 month after that my class 1, all passed with minimal training and effort and that's before gov made the tests easier. Wouldn't go as far as saying it's a male/female thing but there is definitely a 'well-off parent privilege' to it. People tend to be more reckless with shit they didn't have to pay for themselves. 1 of my brothers friends come from money..he (20-23 Y.O) recently got a 3 year old c63s merc after writing off a 340i bmw (after writing off another 3 series bmw just before that) . Fella treats it like an old fuckin farm truck. Smashing it up kerbs, taking it across fields and down dirt tracks leaving it filthy dirty all the time etc.

As far as I can tell it's not the police is the courts that are the problem, why would police officers put in effort when the CPS is just going to decide there's not enough evidence? Why would they bother if the sentence is going to be a slap on the wrist. I work in security guarding and I work alongside the police, I know enough who are dedicated and work hard and then I talk to them after someone who I've seen on CCTV (footage they've handed to the courts) has been let off with a pathetic punishment, needless to say, they're normally fuming.

Speed doesn't kill, poor anticipation of the road ahead is what 'causes the crash and stopping too quickly is where the life ending injuries come from...

In my opinion it doesn’t matter how fast the car is. You could have a car with 90bhp or 550bhp. The car needs a driver to go fast. Obviously the bmw can go faster but everyone has the same speed limits if your going 70 in 60 or 40 in a 30 it doesn’t matter what car your driving

@@ZJS0113 if your doing the speed limit you have more time to react to the road conditions. The faster you drive you have less time to react, a car could have really good brakes but if again if the car behind you doesn’t it won’t stop in time. The driver is responsible no matter what. Having a performance car can be really dangerous but also certain aspects make it safer like you said the brakes being better etc. But it always leads back to drivers actions like you said, a performance car like a bmw m3 sports car could be driven by someone who has slow reactions. But a little Citroen c2 could be driven by someone with really good reactions, it depends on the driver for me

In Australia, you're limited to a certain HP depending on your licence: a new (red P, 0-1 year) probationary driver can't drive the same car as a green P (1-3 years) and they can't drive the same car as a fully licensed driver. In most cases it's delineated by HP, but also by whether the car is a V8, or turbocharged, and certain cars (e.g. the Mitsubishi Evo) are completely off limits for probationary drivers in most states.

I have been driving for 18 years and do that myself now. Every now and then I become hyper aware of my surroundings and mortaility. It is crazy when you are doing 60mph on a narrow road and actually realise that the cars coming the opposite direction are passing by so close and so quickly. Just one bad move by me or another driver would end everything, instantly. It's a very sobering realisation.

Please don’t tarnish all car drivers with the same brush. Whilst some car drivers are in their own world, it’s probably on par with bikers who also feel they are in their own world.

Thats not totally true. Any car can be repaired at any bodyshop. Insurance companies will use their owned approved repairers so they can audit the repair methodology and with this ensure that their customers cars are being repaired correctly using the manufacturers repair methods. Cost of insurance goes up for many variables not just because of accidents and car repairs costs. Car repairs are also often driven by the manufacturer of the cars who state you need to replace parts rather than repair. Volvo for example will not allow a repair to bumpers if more than 1mm of filler is required. Other manufacturers like merc are similar. Others not. Ford bumpers when it comes down to cost or repair over replace. Any more than a 2.5hr repair and repaint and you can buy a new bumper pre painted from Ford for the same cost or cheaper. The manufacturers do this just for resale revenue if parts! Not to mention all the technology on cars comes at a higher cost! Insurance companies and good bodyshops are monitored by a 3rd party governance with very highly knowledgeable people to ensure repairs methods are followed. Also, good bodyshops are full of very talented technicians and assessors that together make sure a car is repaired correctly and most importantly safely! Hope this info helps!!

Also to mention. If you have an accident and your car that carries your loved ones. Would you want it repaired correctly with assurance and guarantee by highly trained techs and assesors involved or joe bloggs that will just bog it full of filler and use 2nd hand parts on safety items like suspension and air bags? All the techs that are trained comes at a cost to that bodyshop. Insurance have their customers at the forefront when it comes to repairs. Yes, I work in the trade.
