Boy, do I have a lot of childhood nostalgia tied up in this one. The comedy and voice cast are both really good. This is, in my opinion, the best animated Dr. Seuss movie so far.

Fun theory, minor spoilers for Grinch. The Who’s made a tradition of making as much noise as possible once a year, to remind those at Horton’s size they’re still here. They would gift each other as noisy a present as they can the morning of. And when the Grinch steals the noisemakers, since that’s why he hates the celebration, what do the Who’s do? Sing so loud, they could be heard at the peak of the tallest mountain around their town.

As someone religious who was bullied for it, the way that Horton was treated as a god by the whos, and how the Kangaroo thought all beliefs were dumb, it just seemed so relatable. Probably not the intent, but it really did kinda seem like a metaphor for letting people have their own beliefs and not butting in because you see them as dumb and uneducated

This is my favorite movie since I was a kid and a fan of Dr. Seuss!! 😄 Interesting fact: BEFORE I was introduced to Doctor Who and I heard its title a few times, I had been thinking to myself, "A Doctor that's a *Who* that can travel back in time??? Interesting!!" 🤣🤣

After seeing all the other Dr Seuss feature length films, I'd say this is the best. Plus, the visuals are stunning, using a lot of rubber hose and squash and stretch animation techniques to bring Seuss' illiustrations to life in a 3d environment. Not to mention the man responible for the movie's composed score is Jon Powell, the man responsible for the soundtrack of _How to Train Your Dragon._

The Kangaroo’s mentality definitely reflects the church vs science debate that’s still going on today, but especially with Galileo and his discovery that the earth revolves around the sun and not the other way around. He was then ostracized by the church, put under house arrest, and his writing was banned, all because he was contradicting what the church believed and therefore was challenging their authority. Loss of power and control will scare those people, and thus you have characters like the Kangaroo who would do anything to maintain that power, control, and her beliefs. Just thought I would offer up that take! Loved your reaction and this movie is super underrated !! :)

And most of the time, what they are referring to isn’t underrated at all. “Underrated” is so overused and misused that it literally has no meaning anymore

You know, there are a lot of things this adaptation does that many book purists do not appreciate. I like that they gave both sons more of a purpose. I like that they expanded the characters. I like how Horton and the mayor have more in common. But there is one gripe I have. Unlike every other iteration, this one never shows us which Who was calling for help. In the source material, it's the mayor who realizes something is wrong before even being introduced calling for help. Here, it doesn't seem like anyone actually had a reason for call for help at that moment.

Awesome reaction once again! I hadn’t read the Dr. Seuss book version for years. Honestly, part of me is glad that this version was made by Fox & Blue Sky, instead of being a live-action film that was made by Universal. Though I enjoyed The Grinch, I heard a lot of horrible things about Cat In The Hat. Anyway, I loved the characters, and I loved how this film seemed to serve as a fable for the lesson about how just because you can’t see something, or someone, that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist, you know? Maybe because I’m a Christian is why I’m drawn to stories like this one. I also liked how Horton showed love, and compassion even for the female Kangaroo, despite how horribly she especially treated him mainly near the end. And yeah, how could you not love the voice cast? Well, great reaction yet again! Looking forward to the others to come!

BTW, the Sour Kangaroo really didn't think the Who's were real, but when she was proven to be the one in the wrong, she refused to admit it until Jojo and the other Jungle animals finally stood up to her.

A great movie with a great message. One of the best Dr. Seuss books turned into films. I know people might dissuade you from watch Mike Meyer’s The Cat in the Hat, but I think it’s a hilarious and great film and worth the watch. 🐘🌷🦘🐀🗣
