Hostages' Families Fear Israel's War In Gaza Is Putting Hostages At Risk 

Not sure why they are still asking about the hostages. They turned off the water, food, electricity and have been bombing them for the last two weeks....do they think they are immune to that? 🙄

I am less worried about the fate of Israel than this leading to something like WWIII or at least a major regional war in the middle east that the USA is dragged into. This is much bigger than just Israel.

Netanyahu takes, of all things, the US reaction to 9/11 as an example. One of the many negative consequences was the formation and drastic rise of the terrorist organization IS. A very good point was made on a British radio show when a caller rang in to challenge his criticism on the Israeli governments invasion If Hamas were hiding in Israel, in tunnels under hospitals, schools and using Israeli civilians as hostages, would the IDF use the same tactics? Would they rain rockets down and carpet bomb entire neighbourhoods in order to root out Hamas? If the only objective is to destroy Hamas and the only way is by levelling cities, why does it seem implausible that Israel would do the same bombing campaign if it were on their own soil?

Pearl Harbor, 9/11... The US response to 9/11 isn't exactly praised ...and the US' actions against Japan, was mainly atrocious war-crimes. The US mainly firebombed countless Japanese cities (100% civilian targets), devastating them far more, than the nukes. The nukes didn't involve any notable change, and had no impact on the Japanese surrender (the Russians entering the war, on the other hand...), and the US knew they wouldn't. The US motivation for nuking, had nothing to do with that.

In the midst of all the madness I would just like to share another perspective. In 2002, Islamic terrorists blew up a major tourist club in the center of Kuta, Bali in Indonesia killing over 202 locals and international tourists. The Balinese people, (with a unique Hindu/Buddhist traditional religion unlike the rest of Indonesia which is moderate Muslim) did not spend any time in seeking retaliation. Instead, they believed the tragedy was a sign that they, themselves were out of harmony and held lots of ceremonies to rededicate themselves to peace. As an American, I am so embarrassed whenever the idea that the US is somehow "superior" is floated. Barbaric is more like it. Once the US may have had some moral-high-ground, but that has been squandered and the rest of the world is aware. Americans that have not travelled and still think the USA is great are drinking the cool aid. Keep reporting, keep protesting... change must come.
