My mother told me to put some marbles in the bottem layer of the juicer. If the water gets way low the marbles will stop bouncing around, letting you know more water needs to be added so your juicer so it doesn't run dry ruining your juicer

I really enjoyed this "how to" make Spiced Mayhaw Jelly~! I just planted (2) Mayhaw trees and now will be anxious for them to start producing~!~ I also need to find out if Huckleberries will grow this far north, those also sound good and great for the grandkids to help pick, which they love helping Gabba out at our lake. Keep up putting out cooking/recipes using items that you gather or grow, love it~!

I personally put a little in a saucer before I can in the fridge for 5 min and check consistency. I don't want syrup or jello. I slowly adjust pectin

If mayhaw is Hawthorne then it is very good for the heart, the leaves, blossoms and berries are used as an herb for the heart.

Blackberries and blueberries make good pepper jellies also. Bottled apple juice makes jelly on the cheap

Hmm I've always been told that huckleberries are only good well cooked. That they must be dark black and cooked or they are poisonous. Some of yours you picked looked like they were reddish some not completely black. Please explain more about them. Also the garden variety huckleberry I tried didn't taste good. I'm very curious.

These are native huckleberries from our woods. We transplanted them to the sidewalk. Huckleberries are very healthy for you. Winter huckleberries, which look very similar, grow later in the year. We do NOT eat them. You have to know the difference.

Good morning. I just made dewberry jam, dewberry cobbler and a dewberry pie. We have already picked over 12 gallons of dewberries on my property. I made hot pepper jelly. It's good. I baked chicken yesterday and put the jelly on top. God bless and much love 💖✝️

I put a teaspoon of butter so I don’t need to skim my jellies and jams. I can only use liquid pectin or Pomona because the other pectin have corn in them.
