I still have my stub from this show! Great venue… Tuna, The Dead, The Ramones. John Sher was The Bill Graham of The East Coast. Awesome days! Great to see Jack n Jorma still kicking much ass!
A killer band even when they were with the Airplane & we could hear what was coming . Saw them several times & Jorma twice doing his Acoustic stuff .. They didn't come much better & man those were the days of awesome music & tons of fun.
I love when the music slows down, and jorma and jack 'speak to each other' with thier guitars. Who does that anymore? They picked up where cream left off. Drummer is also unbelievable. What a great song and great jam.
Their first couple of albums were the exact opposite. They did 3 studio albums with this line up. Yellow Fever, America's Choice and Hoppkorv. The Rampage Years.
@@nonoiker You're right. I remember that, way back when. How about when a writer for Relics magazine wrote that article saying that Hot Tuna was an "Ok" garage band without actually seeing them. Then he went to see them. He was so blown away he recanted and apologized profusely. Said it was the best show he ever saw. He finally got it! I remember all of us guys went crazy, some called the magazine and bitched them out. Nutsy times!
It was JA in 1969. Jorma and Jack would open shows for the JA at times. It wasn't until they released their debut album in 1970 they could "officially" be called Hot Tuna. Jorma and Jack - incredible musicians!
After Jorma and Jack formed Hot Tuna and released their debut album with RCA in 1970- they would still tour with the Airplane to promote their music from " Bark" and "30 seconds over Winterland".
use to think. only thing worst than drum solo. was a Bass solo! then comes Jack Cassidy. was blind now I can see! thank you God thank you . Mr. Cassidy.
No, you were not blind. Bass solos are the worse. Jack Casady bass solos, however, are in a league of their own, even surpassing drum solos by a very far margin. You weren't blind, only unenlightened.
@Marty McFly. High School 1973 - 100 Quaaludes for $45.! Hard to believe! How much would they sell for today?! Should have vacuum packed a few thousand☺!
