Rip in the chat for them both sad how they died Team Black all the way This is a spoiler for the death of rhaenys and meleys in house of the dragon episode 4
@@AmusedCoffee-ym3gbI wished she’d have flew away, & retreat & for a second I thought she was after the fire blast from Vahgar when she was fighting with Aegon & Sunfyre. But she turned her Meyles around & they play that sad music, I knew she was a goner. I think from the book she dies if I’m not mistaken bcuz I don’t read the books but I knew she was a goner when they played that sad music along with ppl last week were talkin bout the episode 4 being leaked & whatnot they was pretty much spot on. R.I.P. to Rhaenys &. Meleys.
If only the blacks were able to tame Vermithor on their side, they could probably go toe to toe with Vhagar's might, but they outwitted themselves by giving it to someone else.
It's sad that dragons have to die because of the stupidity of humans. And how many deaths of elephants does history know in the real history of mankind. How many stupid things does history remember?
@@sometingwong2733chill out, 1v1 she literally wins both vhagar and synfire, this literally showed meleys is stronger than vhagar, she is just way bigger and knows how to win a battle better/more experienced
What's sadder is among the Targaryen-Dragon relationship we've see in the show, We've witnessed how close and how much Rhaenys love Meleys in the previous season and episodes so to see them both gone but remained super loyal and caring about each other adds another layer of pain to see them go HUHUHU
Don't forget that this is fiction and based on the book. If it weren’t for the plot of the book, She would have burned them in the throne room. I console myself with these thoughts. If it weren’t for the book, she would have flown away when she saw Vhagar.
@@user-qu6nc1ws9d Thats because the idiotic showrunners decide to add a scene not at all in the books, out of nowhere and whitewashing the blacks too damn much. I do love the show but sometimes, its just pure dickriding what they be doing for the blacks
She loved Meleys so much and she died a true dragon Rider's death I will always miss you, Rhaenys, THE QUEEN WHO DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE BEEN 🩷
Ah yes, she loved Meleys so much she turned around and attacked Vhagar 1v1 instead of taking the W over Aegon and leaving. She would have been a horrible queen.
@@GREYGHOSTZZ real tbh especially when that isnt how they "win" in the books, they just wanna make aemond seem more skilled then he is despite rhaenys being more experienced...
Daemon and Aemond would get into a dragon-duel. Both dragons shall kill each other and Daemon shall leap off the back of his dying dragon and plunge Dark Sister into Aemond's good eye before dying to the fall himself. A fitting fate for two Kinslayers and wannabe Kings. 😂😂😂
The way Meleys looked at Rhaenys once last time as if to say…”I’m sorry mom, I tried. I love you” just felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. 😭 The love and bond between them ❤😭
@@kunik61 Yes, i love that they are showing more of their individual personalities and quirks and the bond with their riders. This was kind of missing in GOT imo.
When I was watching this and saw Meleys flying peacefully back, I had the biggest feeling that Vhagar was gonna POP out of nowhere again!! Stealthiest, flying building I’ve ever seen.
This is complete nonsense, by the way, that it pops up out of nowhere. They just add weight to her before the final fight. Such a dragon is simply not able to jump out of nowhere. This is a clear oversight on the part of the writers.
Vhagar was a Conqueror's dragon. She has been in hundreds of battles. You think Visenya didn't teach her how to use the element of surprise? @user-qu6nc1ws9d
Rhaenys and Meleys have also been in a ton of battles, so why wouldn’t it cross her mind “hmmm I haven’t seen that gargantuan dragon anywhere, we better not go around any blind corners”. It just seemed death by the writers. It could have been played out better.
@@user-qu6nc1ws9dwhat we don’t understand that human and animal emotions are completely being removed from the equation. Dragons can lose a sense of awareness due to fear, exhaustion and pain from the injuries. So can the riders. Both did not guage Vhagar’s attack from a low flight as they were focussed on sprinting back home.
No matter the side, i feel bad for the dragons. Sunfyre, so beautifull, to be mounted by a stupid kid. And Meleis, she gave that look of ''lets get back and fight another day''.RIP.
Same 🥺 Sunfyre was so beautiful, and surprisingly resilient. He could have been an amazing war dragon if not for the dumb decision of Aegon, I mean he survived the equivalent of a massive blade to your chest, lots of grappling with a much larger dragon, a neck bite, again from a larger dragon, and surprisingly was still alive (barely) after Vaghar’s dragonball attack. Keep in mind all of this is experienced by basically a brand new dragon with no war experience. Its impressive
Vhagar is a war dragon with more experiance than Meyles. Vhagar is the eldest dragon. It is not unreasonable to think an ancient war dragon would know how to be stealthy It also looked like Vhagar came up from the opposite side of the wall and caught them as they passed over
They put Spoiler in the title so people wouldn't click to watch the video if they didn't want to see the spoiler of that specific scene. In this case Rhaenys's death is the video don't click if you don't want to see the spoiler video
She kicked both their asses, she got sneaked by Aemond. What an excellent showing from the baddest woman on the show, she could have left at any time but she fought to the end, nearly defeating both Aegon and Aemond. RIP to one of my favorite characters.
Yeah ...aemond really likes hiding 🤣🤣🤣....I'm just glad that it showed that Meleys could have beaten vaghar, that means meleys is somewhat stronger than vaghar, if not for hiding and attacking suddenly
@@Josh-tg9uvthat's what I'm personifying, vaghar in a prolonged battle in the skies flying around chasing Meleys would tire her and lead to her exhaustion making it easy for her to be killed off, not to mention aemond is a rookie, god's eye is the proof there, vaghar could have easily killed caraxes but what do we get, both dying... And also in the books, it's given Meleys could have easily won against vaghar if it's a head on (without aemond having to hide like a coward) I forgot to add.. Edit : 1. Sunfyre's size was too cute 2. The blood splattering from the wounds on the soldiers below was horrifying.
@@rzv7758 True, hahahaha. If I'm honest when Lucerys' death happened I was more on Aemond's side, I really wanted Aemond to take revenge for the cut eye. But in the final battle between Aemond and Daemon, I was more on Daemon's side, I really liked it when Daemong put the sword through Aemond's eye. Ironic right? hahahahah
Meleys being one of my favorite dragons & watching her die made me hate Vhagar a little bit, even when she was my second favorite dragon throughout the HotD series
the writers really never seem to think about how to write dragon battles. You can't have both a giant screeching super dragon AND have it jump-scare surprise you mid-air.
yeah. while watching I was thinking that was a good strategy against Vhagar. No way a dragon that big can just stay behind a castle and accelerate that fast while stationary. Once she pick up speed I get. but they have shown how much effort it takes for her to take flight many times
It makes sense in the context they’re in. First with Luke and the storm clouds, now this and the smoke/cliff. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an annoying pattern but it’s not like it’s impossible. Meleys did the same when Sunfyre blew his first at her. She attacked him from below.
bro she should’ve flown off when she realized that wasn’t a battle she could win. What good does circling back on a suicide mission and losing one of their strongest dragons do. Cut your losses and return later with more than one dragon and win the bigger battle.
"Beloved daughter of Lady Jocelyn Baratheon and Prince Aemon Targaryen, faithful wife to Lord Corlys Velaryon, mother and grandmother, the Queen Who Never Was lived fearlessly, and died amidst blood and fire. She was fifty-five years old." -writings of Gyldayn
FR!!! THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT SHE SAID IN THAT MOMENT! "I'm sorry master... I tried my best... I'm... sorry..." damn you Aemon! damn you greens! damn you all to the seven hells!!!!
I see some folks complaining about vhagar seemingly coming “out of nowhere” despite being the largest dragon. It’s not lazy writing, it’s actually great writing if you pay attention. With Luke, Vhagar waited until luke and his dragon were out of the thick clouds and resting in the open air. Then vhagar comes out of the clouds and with one bite, kills them both. In this scene, Vhagar is waiting on the mountain side behind the castle and just lunges up and grabs Meyles neck. It’s actually brilliant writing bc this was the only way to get the element of surprise bc there was no cloud cover and Vahgar was incapable of hiding in the open air. So Aemend and her just wait for Meyles to be flying home and lunges out and again, with one bite, kills them both. Basically just like the Mountain vs the Viper. All Vhagar/Mountain needed to do was get close enough and it was over.
You know, I won’t even read it to the end. I hope you will understand that with a dragon like Vhaigar it is almost impossible to hide. This is complete nonsense! The size is colossal! Not in the forest, not anywhere else. This is complete nonsense of the scriptwriters! God! Can you imagine that Vhagar, with her size, hung in front of the rock for so long on purpose? This is complete nonsense!
not sure where you see amazing writing ? any creature the size of vhagar would be impossible to lose track of. it doesn't matter if you can't see her , you'd hear her. that's why the men on the field looked at the trees even before vhagar was in sight, because you would hear her before seeing her. so actually the writing was very inconsistent. not to mention that her feet would probably leave trackable marks in the ground , maybe big enough that the smoke wouldn't cover them completely.
Even though this moment was coming, I still was not prepared to say goodbye to my favorite dragon & character … farewell to The Red Queen Meleys and to Princess Rhaenys😭💔
Hearing Sunfyre shriek and seeing Meleys look back at Rhaenys one last time broke my heart. Gotta give her credit tho, bringing down Vhaegar like that even if it was momentarily. R.I.P. Meleys and Rhaenys 🐉🔥
For people who are saying how does that big of a dragon can sneak is it's a ancient war dragon who have been to tons of war and to be honest it was all smoke for rhaenys to spot her
With brain ? That's one of the slowest dragon vs one of the fastest ! Not to mention that isn't even how meleys was killed in the books ! She wipes his ass in 1 vs 1 in clear sky !
i think she thought if she took down vhagar and aemond the war would be lost for the greens, she did good on a head to head with vhagar even droping vhagar to crash, after circling back she would be in advantage having the high ground, but vhagar got up really fast so when she lost sight of vhagar it looked like she was leaving going past the castle
She didn’t want to abandon the troops to Vhagar, and Meleys nearly managed to take out both Aemond and the King. She had to try. Still, heartbreaking. They could have made Rhaenys’ reasons a bit more clear.
@@cristianbejarano1516 I wonder if part of her reasoning ties back to what Daemon told her back in S2E1, and the guilt she might've harbored for Lucery's death.
Remember in the beginning when Aemond explained that if Rooks fell then Dragonstone would be cut off from its allies? That’s why she couldn’t just fly away.
almost unthinkable , a yioung rider like Aemond could outwit an experienced one like Rhaenys.. how could she lose sight of a gigantic thing like Vhagar is unrealistic as it could get.
Well, how could an inexperienced leader like Robb outwit a seasoned general like Tywin? Besides, Vhagar is by far the most experienced dragon of them all, while Meleys didn't fight in any major war. In any case, Vhagar wasn't hiding behind the castle, she was flying behind that cliff.
@@thorfinn_saga No, because my point still stands. Speed and size don't matter much in an ambush. Not sure what you mean about soldiers though; of course those nearby saw Vhagar take flight. Doesn't mean someone 10 km away could keep track of her.
Should’ve listened to Deamon and hunted down Vhagar with Caraxes and none of this would be happening. It’s like the blacks all took some kind of stupid pill and signed a mutual suicide pack or something. This is so sad and I’m so angry!!!!
Rhaenys was full of ego and supporting Rhaenyra partially to get her personal revenge... The queen who never was. "A woman will sit the Iron Throne". Gender war bs. She could have ended the war on two occasions. At first, she pretended she wouldn't take side and that it wasn't her war. Then, she simply refused Daemon's offer because of stupid feminine pride. Rhaenys and Daemon would have killed Vhaegar by attacking her and Aemond during one of their watch over King's Landing. Without Vhaegar, the green have nothing substantial to oppose the black's dragons at this point in time.
@@deoliveiradamien7192 I am a women and I gave your comment a thumbs up. Pride has it’s place and that was not the moment for it. Rheanyra was being indecisive and weak just like her father before her. She should have gone with Deamon and ended this stupid war before it really took of and deal with the consequences with Rheanyra after. At least Rheanyra and her kids would be alive to bitch and moan about being undermined as queen.
@@deoliveiradamien7192Lol it’s not “Gender War BS” - she was discounted as heir in favour of her cousin Viserys, despite coming first in the line of succession, because Westerosi nobility are patriarchal - that’s just a fact of the culture. That’s also not why she rejected Daemon’s suggestion anyway. Whilst her and Daemon hunting down Vhagar would be good in hindsight, it made sense that she didn’t do this because at the start of the war Rhaenyra was trying to avoid immediately unleashing her sides’ dragons. Also Vhagar was heavily guarded and if either Daemon or Rhaenys died, that would cost The Blacks one of their two greatest assets.
I knew it was gonna happen... but damm. The detail with a dragon like Vhagar is that, although it is huge, which means it is also slow, if it catches you it's over, because that size is proportional to its strength. So it's almost impossible to survive a close encounter with that beast.
Rhaenys is so cool. I'm devastated she died (especially considering the whole "Queen that never was business".. this was her occasion to prove herself, it seems). She''s not a main character, I know, but we didn't get enough scenes worthy of her. It surprised me how emotional this whole fight made me as soon as it started. So hard to watch, but one of the best scenes in both shows in my opinion. Rest now, princess Rhaenys Targaryen, you fought with honor.
So many people be picking Rhaenys’ decision to turn back apart, it’s not that hard to grasp. 💀💀 Imagine, you’ve just seen King Aegon and Sunfyre go down, for all you know he is dead. I don’t think that Rhaenys, someone who has voiced near constant concern and caution against needless bloodshed, would allow Aemond (who at this point in time is Aegons ONLY known heir) to rule after him. If (in her and the rest of the black’s eyes) he is willing to chase down and his own nephew while he was serving as a peaceful envoy in cold blood, then she could probably only imagine what he’d be capable of. Even if she was only able to wound Vhagar, keeping that old gal off the field would buy Rhaenyra valuable time to regroup and come up with a strong plan of attack. This was not a rash decision on her part. It’s obviously a calculated one. She could have fled back to Dragonstone easily since she rides the fastest dragon in Westeros .but she didn’t.
@@johnmarston8532 are you stupid? Vhagar was literally one of the three dragons that aided in Aegon's conquest. She was probably even alive before the doom of old Valyria.
@@krishkrish8213 So 9/11 is to be expected cause of the war in Ukraine? That's pretty much your argument, Rhaenys killed all those people for nothing, there was 0 reason to kill them
@malekiththeeternityking5433 No, because what you said doesn't relate with the war in Ukraine, war is war. People will die that is to be expected. Civilian casualties are to be expected, and so are military casualties.
I knew that Rhaenys and Meleys would be killed but seeing it happen was very upsetting! Both will be missed and I hope avenged soon. Where is Vermithor bra.... Team Black undisputably and always🖤🖤🖤🖤
@@19kilo241They went in a staggeringly *weird AF* direction with Hugh the Hammer. In the books he came off as a dumb brutish Oaf who got all uppity because of his dragon. This peasant legit thought he deserved to be King just because he had a dragon. Instead they decided to add some complexity to his character. Somebody needs to tell Condall that people could be dumb brutish and oafish and that not everyone is all that complex.
At least they gave her more cleaner death compared to what happened in the books. in the books, Meleys was in a 2V one against Vhagar and Sunfyre. But at least in that fight, Aegon was left crippled after.
Somehow even with all the smoke she could not see a massive dragon running to the cliff edge which would have then took off to fly downwards clearing said smoke around it from the draft of its wings and not a single person thought about letting off arrows as Aemond and Vhagar peeked out from below.
This episode was truly something else. What a way to go for Rhaenys, she had to have been the most skilled dragonrider besides Daemon. RIP to the Queen who should have been.
I want to believe meleys was thinking, "sorry my queen its over for me , and i luv u, its been fun" rather than " its your fault u are bad rider" when they lock eyes when she was about to die😢
Before any of you go feeling too bad for Rhaenys, remember during Aegon’s coronation, she killed about 1000 people for the equivalent of a Fortnite dance.
Hard for me to feel bad for her when she had not 1 but 2 chances to flee the battle after already downing the king. Her greed cost her and her dragon their lifes.
She is the queen who should have been. She was absolutely badass, wise, and skilled. She died a true dragonrider's death. RIP Queen Rhaenys and Meleys ❤
