Listened to this over a longer than normal work commute this morning. Was quite shocked to see it only had like 500 views, Cause this is S tier commentary homie; genuinely entertaining and inciteful. The moment the algorithm leans your way you're going to the top for sure! Keep it up!
One of the best HOTD video essays I've watched! Hands down dude - this is such a detailed and insightful analysis of the acting and characterisation of the show.
It is actually UNBELIEVABLE how few people have watched this video or subbed to you. The depth of your analysis, quality of your editing, and smoothness of your voice are just golden. P.S. I can see your Gludus influence, and I support it entirely
Neat things I forgot to talk about because an hour wasn't long enough: - Alicent looking out from the Red Keep but rarely leaving it - looking out the window mid-dissociate & bounce in E4, watching Otto leave and looking at Viserys collapse from the ramparts in E5 - while Rhaenyra sneaks out on the lash - Daemon & Mysaria's very inequal relationship, her looks to him in E2 as he keeps announcing things without consulting her (marriage, pregnancy etc.) - Rhaenys keeps watching Rhaenyra from afar in E1 ending and throughout E2, Kingsguard selection and Viserys' playdate with Laena, observing the new heir - Luke looking at Driftmark on the map in E10, missed opportunity to do yet another Jon "I dun wun it" sound bite rip rip - Rhaenys looks at Balerion's skull when she's escaping the Red Keep in E9, it's probably what makes her reject Alicent's ideas of gentle guidance and instead choose dragon boom boom pow
I'm not analytical enough to have something to say, but I loved this video! Thanks so much for making it, I love all the intricacies and opinions on stuff like this.
Damn, this is an excellent and intricate analysis. I'll be honest, I thought this show was like a real 7/10 when I watched it, but this is making me wanna revisit it.
I interpreted Daemon's smile differently (when he was spying on the council) there are two things. He could be recognizing that there's truth to what Viserys says, he does not want the throne itself, he just wants the thought of being his brothers heir. The other is his brother defends him truly. Daemon craves approval from Viserys. Receiving the throne is a means for Daemon to being acknowledged by his brother.
