@@Crazy-Description also, Arrax was supposed to have been hatched from a clutch of eggs from Syrax, so she was also mourning the loss of her child as well.
I listen to you a while back I couldn't remember the name of your channel I love all over and couldn't find it your channel is overshadow by BS channels like new rock stars an emergency awesome boring little twat I can't stand listening to them and I'm so glad I found your channel again and now I am subscribing
Personally I loved how they did blood & cheese. They stayed true to Halaenas personality, and her being so overwhelmed and confused that she just answered and I think the way they portrayed trauma was on point and realistic. Fight, Flight, Fawn. She went into fawn mode.
I really like that we got to see more of her doing normal things and not just portrayed as the 'weird girl talking nonsense'. I also liked the way they handled blood and cheese and how someone could realistically react to that kind of trauma.
Respectfully I disagree. They could’ve fleshed out the scene by showing Helaena not so one-sided, and her pointing out Jaehaerys without hesitation doesn’t seem very realistic. I was really hoping Maelor would’ve been introduced by then since it’s what made the whole B&C subplot even more anguishing. Helaena choosing Maelor to die over Jaehaerys, only for the latter to be killed instead, could’ve made it more impactful imo and further driven the deep guilt and remorse she had for her kids.
Exactly. And let's remember, she's a sheltered young girl who NO ONE listens to. She doesn't even use her voice to communicate to her closest family members. As if she would scream and fight with strange men with weapons.
I like how Aemond understands that the throne was usurped, hence the comment about Alicent's 2 tongues. He is saying that was the first domino that got tipped.
Aemond wants that throne and Otto sees Aegon as standing in the way of his butt on that throne. It was confirmed that Alicent was in on this from the beginning and I believe she intends to get rid of her own son😮.
All Hail @GrayArea 1st of her name, bringer of the juice, mistress of roasts, Lady of the RU-vid streets, and protector of the lore! Long may she reign!!!
Omg, that 1st scene with Allicent and Cole...it's also in Rhynera's rooms!!! The SAME ROOM!!! Because you know, she moved from the queen's chambers, that's where Helaena is now. I was DEAD.
@user-fb1jm2ru8j They make her a lot more sympathetic than her book counterpart. A lot more human, hypocrite, yes, but I find her far more tolerable and likeable than her Lady Tremaine-esque book version.
@@user-u7u8b Truth. They took away a lot of the worst actions that Rhaenyra did(including her shitty treatment of Aemond, Aegon and Daeron, who she only ever called "my half brothers". I'm glad they're at least showing that Aegon II is trying to be a good king and a good father, though he still has a ways to go(know Rooks Rest is episode 4, so we'll see what he does before.)
@phousefilms The worst thing that they've done was to put Alicent in bed with Cole, while poor book Alicent was bound and gagged and made to watch while her grandson was being un alive d.
@@user-u7u8b They've done a lot of things to make the Greens look worse and remove the ambiguity. For my own part, I prefer stories where its not a clear case of good vs evil(early seasons of GOT vs the later seasons, for example.) I know how the story ends, but I will side with the Greens besides because I like their characters a lot more. Blacks: Rhaenyra lies to Alicent and uses her dead mothers name, Laenor's lover tries to talk to Cole in a way that can EASILY be perceived as blackmail. Rhaenyra sleeps with Harwin Strong and has three bastards(not that bastards are evil, as we know with Jon), Vaemond Velaryon is killed by Daemon on his own initiative for telling the truth(which is not ordered by Rhaenyra or ending with him being fed to her dragon). Laenor skips off somewhere with Qyle Correy, leaving Daemon and Rhaenyra's hands cleans. Greens: Aegon rapes some common girl and Alicent covers it up. Aemond is beaten when he defends himself after claiming Vhagar, but because he was so aggressive, he deserved to lose an eye, right?(just what I heard from other commenters). Larys Strong murders his father and brother out of perceiving Alicent's orders about wanting her father back wrong. Also, he's a mean cripple with a foot fetish. The Greens were already planning to kill Rhaenyra the second her father died. Cole is an incel(what other people say, not what I believe)), blah blah. Odd, given the marketing of "pick a side"when they're slanting things so much towards Black faction being the heroes. Both are pretty bad overall, but the Greens are just better IMO. SPOILERS: - - - - - - - - - - Very much waiting for the scene: "Dear brother. I had hoped you were dead." "After you. You are the elder."
This and the fact that Alicent was with Cole right after her husband's death (if not sooner), just as Cersei was with Lancel. I wonder if High Sparrow would arrest her as well if Crispin confessed like Lancel 😂
You're not wrong - Syrax is Arrax's mom. They both lost their children - and the bond between dragon & dragonrider makes this scene so much more palpable. RIP Luke & Arrax :-(
Team Green is honestly unstable and broken. Aegon II walked into Helaena's room and not one person bowed or said "My Lord". Then Otto walks in on Aemond and Ser Crispin, and Aemond stays seated and purposefully avoided eye contact. It's funny how unstable they are, but also very sad to see.
You just blew my mind with that realization that the starks knew and passed down that dream like the targaryens, A SONG OF FIRE AND ICE AHHHH🤯 so glad to follow you sis
Thoughts. -I liked the shot of Jace looking over into the Enchanted Forest. Pretty epic and just as I imagined it. Absolutely creepy, utterly magical. -I loved that Rhaenys handled Daemon like the tiny little cousin/son-in-law that he is to her. But he's right, Rhaenyra should've been leading, not exposing herself to Vaghar and Sunfyre. She could've died.
I'm so happy the show is back, I loved the start, as soon as I heard the music I knew where we were in Westeros. The actors have done an amazing job, I cried along with Rhaenyra when she found her sons cloak and dragon wing. They have definitely upped their game this season, I can't wait for the rest of the season, though not too quickly because then it will be over too soon.
Fettywap BAHAHHA! OMG 😂😂 Aemond would be so mad at you for that and it's going to live in my head rent free forever! So glad you have fresh material to cover 🫶😁🔥🔥🔥
Hahaha your description of Vagar was hilarious!😂 and if their were actually Green /Alicent supporters out there , how could they truly after this episode. I don’t side with Alicent , but could understand why she ended up doing what she did in season one . But after THIS.. I have no more respect for the surf rider .. she truly is a hypocrite. And don’t even get me started on Crispen Cole.. he has more pick me issues then any chick I know . And my sweet Deamon .. that look of .. “Your wish is my command “ when Rhenarya said “I want Aeamon Targaryen” And Syrax crying with her . Sweet baby. I’m so glad season has started .. can’t wait to 🔥 some greens 🥬
Just like Vhagar carried Aemonds true feelings towards Lucerys ....Hate revenge and murder. Aemond is indeed a poisoned and dangerous seed. He spent his whole younger life absorbing and sponging all the court's hate towards Rhaenyra and her children.
The opening scene was so freaking phenomenal, seeing Winterfell (a bit of history of the Starks sending people to the wall) the Wall itself and off course Cregan Stark himself. Loved it. Emma D'Arcy's Acting is remarkable, Aegon having his fun with Tyland at the small council was so great 🤣🤣 Still pretty conflicted about Alicent and Criston as well as how Blood and Cheese was done but other than that... a good first episode. Great being back in Westeros. Bring on episode 2.
The Blood & Cheese scene was much more psychologically impactful in the book. I still like the show but to change that scene is unforgivable. Great video!
ive binge watched so many of your videos since discovering your channel. i came for the analysis and stayed for the one liners like "alicent is gettin her BOX MUNCHED ON" lmao
1) love how muva read every member of the greens for filth 2) am I the only one who teared up when Alicent mentioned Luke's name before lighting that candle
The Jace and Rhaenyra scene got me. He may be her oldest son, but he's still her baby, and sharing their grief was so much more impactful than anything else they could have done in that moment.
When Rhaenys said “then I pity Aemon” she’s referring to the rage of a grieving mother. Not even Vhaegar can stand in the face of that. Especially since Aemon has guilt and that would weaken his hand.
It's understandable why they would tame it a bit down since it involved very small children that would get panicked with a knife to their throat. Just hearing the sounds of them cutting off Jaehaerys's head was disgusting enough.
I love Rhaenys. She's MY queen. Vhaegar and Fetty 😭 I thought it was interesting that Aegon picked up Otto's lesson quickly: when the king speaks, people listen. The guy at the docks: what is happening there! Is he connected to Laenor somehow? 🧐
I was looking forward to this after watching the premiere so you could imagine my surprise when it was up a couple of hours later. It came in handy when I had to step away from watching to attend to something around the house.
I loved this episode, I had hoped for a blood and cheese cold open kinda thing but I did wish they did the choose which son you want to lose bit. I can't wait for episode 2!
Theres a Crispin Glover in Fire and Blood, wondered is that where Matt Smith got the idea to miss name Criston. Reminds me of Jaime naming Dickon Tarly,Rickon or Rickard, as he Knew Rickard Stark and possibly gave him the slightest amount of respect for opposing Aerys, though Ned wasnt willing to accept that. Aegon's 'enduring mystery' comment was quite nice, her neuro-divergence is definitely part of her Targaryen powers
Otto started this war when he sent his daughter to comfort the king when he lost his wife and son. Then plotting to usurp the rightful heir. Otto plotted to get Demon removed from second in line too the thrown for Rhaenyra, then started plotting to get Aegon in the seat while he was a baby.
@@darriuscole8544- Oh plz 🙄 Rhanyera didn't behave any differently than any young Prince would have, believe that. At least her kids weren't sent to go fight & die in child fighting pits ffs. Rhaenyera has AMAZING kids, who would be 100x better for the realm than Aegon, or anybody sired from him tbh. And her kids have been legitimized, given the Velaryon name, and made her heirs. Good enough for me! lol Better than a drunk 22yr old rapist, I know that.
@@KabbalahSherry she did no prince would paint their bastard son as heir and act as if everyone should act stupid about it and her kids were not legitimized they are still bastards their father isn not a velaryon they are not velaryons they are Strongs a rapist he maybe attest he didnt want to have his brother tortured when he stated facts about their bastardy
@@darriuscole8544 Regardless who she f'ked to have kids, she is still the heir. Otto plotted to get Damon removed from second inline , then he usurped the rightful heir. Unfortunatley the show made the women seem like they were friends from childhood. This is not the case in the book and Alicent is a bit older than Rhaenyra. Read the book bruh, and pay attention. You missed the forrest despite the trees. Before Rhaenyra was even banging, Otto had already started his scheme. Even when Aegon was a baby, Otto was plotting to get him on the throne.
@@darriuscole8544 By actual blood claim, they aren't bastards. She is the royal, she is the heir and she is Targaryen. Their blood claim always, and only, came from her. It doesn't matter who their father is.
I watch all the GOT Breakdowns and you are by far the best channel ... Been following for about 7 years ... I would love if you did Cregan stark breakdown in between episodes... keep up the good work
Yea Cregan's narrative said that selecting the black rock and serving The Night's Watch "isn't a sentence, but an honor", but screw that, those in power will use whatever language they can to convince you to do something that sucks. It has nothing to do with being craven for me, it has to do with not wanting a stupid 'job' that's essentially exile for the rest of your life. The only potential 'thank you' and/or reward that you'll get is a pat on the back and a "thanks" from either the Lord Commander or Warden of the North, and not even that is guaranteed.
Giving that cookie up 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Box munching 😆😆 Oh Gray, you are a glorious woman! I'm so glad that we're all back in Westeros! You are my Queen!! Thank you! ~Tammy 🩵
So happy so see you back in action and so on point 🙏🏻♥️ I agree with everything you say and i’m here for the juice 😂 This season is going to me amazing and the dialogue this episode was so good 🫶🏻
So will people say there is a power imbalance with Alicent and Criston being that she’s the king’s mother and he’s a kings guard. They sure as hell did with Rhaenyra
If Alicent was in line to rule, yeah. She's essentially a dowagger queen, like early Cersei. An honorary title. However, Cersei was cutthroat for saying no to her. Power imbalance. Is Alicent that ruthless?
