this song always makes me cry because it was my grandad's favourite and he passed away last year. before he passed, he lent me his guitar and this, of course, was my first song i learned. i still play it all the time, hoping he'd be proud of me. sorry for being all emotional, this song just means a lot to me 💓🎸
In 1978 halfway around the world, I learned my first lesson guitar lesson by this song with my uncle. Now sitting in Boston listening to this song, all the old memories come back. My uncle, my beloved teacher, is no longer around, lots of friends have passed away. The only thing I have left now is some beautiful memory like this. Thank you Andy, this song brings me tears every time I listen to it. Such a beautiful song.
I want to thank you Andy. Your lessons are clear and easy to understand. You have become my go to guy for learning things on the guitar. It's been years since I've played and I'm now back at it and learning wonderful things because of your instruction. Thank you.
This is the most and best lesson I have had and actually learned to play...I just had to come here and tell you Andy that you teach very well and this way is so much easier for me anyhow so I thank you.! I can play the guitar....wow.!
WOOOHOOOHOOO YES! Okay, skipping between you and someone else, but heck, if there is one song I want to learn, it's this one and I JUST GOT IT! Will take a bit of practice now.... pick sting, strumm, one two three...... Brilliant! Thank you, Andy!
Thank you for showing this interesting yet encouraging way to play. I'm 57 and just picked up the guitar after 35 long years. You can only imagine how hard and boring it is to me. Thank you!
I haven't played in years and forgot almost everything. Thanks to your videos I'm back to playing again and things are coming back. I really appreciate you for doing this. All the other sites charge a fee. So glad I found your videos and downloaded your app. Thanks again Andy.
Thank you for a fantastic video lesson. I have been playing this song for more years than I care to admit, but the chords I learned from the circa 1967 Keith Prowse publishing sheet music were Dm, F, G Bb, Dm, F, A7. I like the sound of your version much better. Deeper, cleaner, more melancholy sound that better suits the song.
Brilliant lesson for a brilliant song! Picked it up in one sitting and I got really into it singing along once the strumming started. I've made a playlist of your videos to work through some of my favorite jams. I've only just picked the guitar back up after trying without much success in the noughties. Your videos have helped me play wayyyy more successfully than I did back in the day. Thank you ❤
