Street vendors in a southwest Houston neighborhood are blocking streets and filling up parking lots in nearby apartment complexes. FOX 26's Sherman Desselle reports on the problem after a property owner called the city to help deal with the businesses.

Every other city lets apartment owners tow non-residents. Give their residents permanent stickers for windshields and/or assigned parking spaces and tow all the others. The vendors and their customers won't park there again after paying tow fees.

Drop by on to "windswept" at night it will blow you away! Between 59/westpark/hilcroft......but seriously though this is wonderful, as anyone can "setup" shop and sell what they want to sell without the need to pay any taxes, don't need to require permits or to pay the city, it's like having a food truck without all the unnecessary fees and bs requirements. Grease trap? What's that? Oh look there's a storm drain right there.....

Most of them are unlicensed.. no health inspections, cash businesses not paying taxes, and nobody enforcing the laws while the legit brick and mortar businesses have to pay up, wait months for approvals before they can make money, and lose customers to fly-by-night illegal street vendors.

@Joe-gw9wh The street vendors are not entitled to business. In order to do business you need a license, pay taxes, health inspections, and many other things. What kind of asinine comment is that? When you block a sidewalk near a restaurant and passerbys buy food from the vendors instead of the businesses in the buildings they are in fact stealing business.

Make an anonymous report to the IRS that there's people avoiding taxes by creating businesses and they'll be down there in a day handing out subpoenas. See if vendors show after they seize their truck
